  4. OUTSTANDING ! Thank You ALL Very Much for your input and advice. WE decided go with a model just under 10 cu ft. That's the most our spot could accommodate but it should be sufficient. As is often the case, there was drama . . Picked it up today at the local Lowes (where a military ID card is worth 10% off e v e r y t h i n g , and that's on top of any sales.) Got it home, removed the packing/carton, and the unit was buckled and bent and the top was creased in the middle. The box was unmarked so apparently, it was packed and shipped to the store that way. I was not impressed. Called "Mark" the salesman. He said what he was supposed to and they delivered us a replacement this evening. So it'a all good. And now - bring on the meat ! Thanks again everyone. btw - Lund - 26 cu/ft - holy smokes - are you freezin dem deer whole or what ? A-Jay
  5. Going to take advantage of the holiday sales to purchase a chest freezer. It's just time. Should have purchased one of these a long time ago. I'm looking for any and all "Lessons Learned" from current and past owners of said units who are willing to share. Thank in advance. A-Jay

Take the time off - and here's a thought . . . Perhaps you could take 1/2 the time before you go and the other 1/2 when you get back. This will give you time to re-acquaint yourself with your family before you have to go back to work. Stay Safe and Thank you. A-Jay
  11. Sounds like a good plan and if you do, I'd like to place an order please . . . A-Jay
  12. Perhaps they were "following Orders" - something like - "Sargent, get you and your men over there ASAP, those people need help - and don't let anything get in your way !" You can't say they didn't give it their all. If the folks on the bridge were instead stranded some how and clinging to life, their perspective regarding the dedication and commitment displayed by these service members would CHANGE DRAMATICALLY The view is always different from the cheap seats. 13. A Real Trophy ! Congratulations ! A-Jay
  14. Yup - Beasts are a fan favorite (for this fan anyway) I made a Mass Purchase back when they were still in production. Sadly, though, supplies are running low ~ A-Jay
  15. I'll place another vote for the Automatic bid feature. You'll have to decide what you're willing to pay for the item in advance. Once your top bid is in you may win it for less. Drop your absolute highest bid in an automatic bid a few minutes before the auction is over, like 1 or 2 not 5 or 10. You could still be out bid but the less time you give others to hunt down your bit (and they will) the better shot you have at success. I like e-bay, I've have had more good than bad experiences. 16. That's one heck of a Trophy Smallie. What a gorgeous fish - that fishery appears to be healthy ! A-Jay
  17. The weight and bead do not slide. They are held in place by a stopper knot tied in front of them on the main line. The knot is the first item listed regarding this rig. It's a little hard to see in the second photo, but it's there. For me, a sliding weight is undesirable when fishing in heavy or snag prone cover. The rig has a better chance of getting into and more importantly, out of, structure when it remains as one compact unit. A weight that slides and separates from the plastic may not penetrate as deep into the cover and may also hang up a bit more. And - since the soft plastic is skin hooked, it comes through just about anything, including the lilies. A-Jay
  18. Thanks - I've been doing Very Well with this one. If there is such a thing as a go to bait, this is it for me. btw- am I going to be sorry I posted this ? A-Jay
  19. You're received some great advice from some very knowledgeable folks. I've had little success fishing any style jig in those conditions. So I have gone to a what is essentially a lighter version of a punching rig. You may very well need an actual punching rig (complete with 3/4 to 1 oz weight) to penetrate that mess. For me this rig is much more weedless and especially snag free. The ridge hook of an actual jig just does not come through that stuff very well. From the line to the hook here's this rig - - A stopped knot (I use a double uni-knot made from left over braided line) - A small bead to keep the knot from slipping through the weight. - A 1/2 oz tungsten weight - a Boss Punch Hub - this is placed inside the skirt collar - The skirt of your choice - A parasite clip (optional, but does help prevent the plastic from sliding down the hook) - A 5/0 Owner wide gap plus EWG hook (#5139 - very stout, I love this hook) - Your favorite soft plastic - pictured is a Power Bait Beast Hope this helps A-Jay

Mine AND yours both Cliff - Probably at the same time ! ~ Great Bass ~ A-Jay
  21. I really haven't kept track of my largest Crappie as I don't fish for them much any more but this is definitely a PB for me. Picked this one up as by catch while looking for bass and pike. I was fishing a submerged weed bed on a mid-lake hump with a Powerbait Jerk Shad. It was FAC, nice night. This dinner plate sized big eyed bugger was quite a surprise ! A-Jay
  22. Leave'em both - but be sure to take the file/folder containing all the receipts for your gear. They may come in handy later if the need arises. A-Jay
  23. This stuff is no joke. Adderall is a brand name of amphetamine salts–based medication used for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and narcolepsy. It is a brand-name psychostimulant medication composed of racemic amphetamine aspartate monohydrate, racemic amphetamine sulfate, dextroamphetamine saccharide, and dextroamphetamine sulfate, which are all amphetamine salts. It is thought to work by increasing the amount of dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain. In addition, the drug also acts as a potent dopamine reuptake inhibitor and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. It is available in two formulations: IR (Instant Release) and XR (Extended Release). The immediate release formulation is indicated for use in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy, while the XR formulation is approved for use only with ADHD. Like other stimulant drugs, such as methamphetamine and cocaine, Adderall directly affects the mesolimbic reward pathway in the brain. Amphetamine salts preparations are considered to have high abuse potential, and it is classified as Schedule II by the US DEA. A-Jay
