Did the sunset cruise tonight - the smallies were ready willing and I was able to get a few of them to the boat and in the net. Water temps at 55. Sub-walk is making me a believer. A-Jay

Michigan Reports
On the lake today - Cold wind - water temps dropped to 51 - but - and this is the good part - it was a SMB slam fest - Rapala sub-walk was the bait of the day - first time I've fished this bait - it's a keeper-- targeted flats on the north end - boat docks and beds - fish were surprisingly aggressive for such a chilly day - man that was a very good time - hoping for more tomorrow - A-Jay

Cool - I'm looking forward to getting out there with ya - soon. I did the Monday afternoon to sunset bite. Managed some decent LMB and SMB. It's always interesting when you get both from the same spots - you never know what it's gonna be- 4' *** and 1/0 gamakatsu's on very light line was the ticket - the water is so clear - it's the only way to go - I just became a pumpkinseed fan - again Looks like today and tomorrow are gonna be cool - 45-ish what's up with that - water temps are still in the mid to high 50's - it a slow warmer this spring - -Out again today - - - A-Jay

water in batteries
Only distilled or purified water should be used to fill batteries. Tap water, drinking water, softened water, or well water should not be used because of possible impurity and mineral contents that can negatively affect the performance and life of the battery. As for the correct water level, each brand and size battery is a little different. If you have one, refer to the owner's manual. If not, most of the ones I have had to fill it was "full" once the water reached to bottom of each fill tube. **Always fill it AFTER you charge it otherwise you risk boil over. More importantly, Thank you for serving. A-Jay

Riverator, Yes, I will send you everything I have - pictures, write ups and links in a PM. My battery lasts a total of 3 hours if I run it on max. If I run it at about 65% I get there a fraction slower but increase my battery life to 6 hours. That includes trolling around at very slow speeds to change positions and hold into the wind once you get there. I am on my way out the door, watch your PM's later today, it will be two separate messages. See ya A-Jay

Seats are holding up fine - my wife really likes the seat backs - very comfy . . . . . . I even use them with the back folded down and sit on the back so I can turn and cast from side to side without the seat obstructing my casts - and then when I'm motoring to my next spot - just pop it up and I'm stylin' . . . . . The Predator is very stable for standing and fishing - I do it all day - but we must remember - it's a CANOE not a bass boat so sooner or later I expect I take a tumble - but I hope to stay dry I put an extension handle on the trolling motor and that alone makes a World of difference as far as balace is conerned - it gives me something to hold on to - it really helps. The canoe is 40 inches wide and very stable for a canoe. . . . . . . . A-Jay

VA I am also a big fan of the stealth canoe approach - I put a minnkota 55 on an Old Towne Predator square back 15'3''. I love it. I have a Hummingbird gps/sonar on it - I think it's the 636 model I put the battery in a Minnkota battery box that comes equipt with 2 12 volt accessory inputs - I use one for the hummingbird and one for a spot light for night operations I can PM you some more info / photo's if you'd like . . . . And Another new SMB PB ! ! !
"Got to love it when the swim off hard on release" Yes - miked62 - it's the BEST ! As a boy I fished with both my Dad and His Dad - and they both always got such a kick out of watching their catch swim off - - that started over forty-five years ago for me - and it never gets old. I have really grow to enjoy this aspect of fishing. I'll admit I used to simply "Toss" the under sized fish back without much regard for their survival - but somewhere along the line I figured it out - - besides, I bet the fish feels it's pretty important - A-Jay
