  1. Life IS the ultimate challenge. The further down the road I go, the truer this becomes. There are instances when I need to just grin & bear it. Most times I'm feeling like the glass is at least half full. A-Jay
  2. Secured a couple custom topwater waking baits we hope to feed to a few overgrown Mexican Bass ~ 😉 A-Jay
  3. Mega flavor of the month ~ GP Saffron A-Jay
  4. Z-Man will be pumping the new "Jelly" line of purple bladed JKs any day now. Don't expect any "credit." 😁 A-Jay
  5. Sounds about right. Make sure you get on the right "Bus" at the airport in Mexico. Should be a really awesome trip ! Have fun. A-Jay
  6. Great Name ! When the pike chew the paint off my GP blades, which they always do. Totally going with the purple Sharpie, instead of the black. Thanks A-Jay
  7. I am a fairly huge user & abuser of those baits. Settled 100% on the JH and some of its variations. My color choices are based on the same factors that I would consider when selecting the color of most any bait I throw. Pretty sure you know what they are. Interestingly enough, I do not throw a bright red bait. Might need to revisit that. Either way, below is a decent sampling of some solid producers for me. I neglected to mention that I'm targeting the brown ones ~ A-Jay
  8. We've made a couple of 3 similar commercial flight journeys. All proved very adventurous. If you are clearing customs in Mexico City you'll need plenty of time before your final flight. Like at least 2 hours or you may miss your last flight out. Once you get to the lodge, check with Chad Meenan ( Lodge manager and great guy) about any subsequent trips and alternate fly in options. We prefer chartering a plane from looks like Phoenix this time, straight to the lodge. It's more $$$ obviously but we get an extra half day on the lake and it's considerably more convenient. A-Jay
  9. Hello from up in Otsego County and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ One of the many great aspects of this forum is the Search tool. Upper right-hand corner of the page. I typed in Life Jackets and got this. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/search/?q=Life%20Jackets&quick=1&search_in=titles&start_after=any&updated_after=any It should help quite a bit. 10. Sweet ! Perhaps think of the travel as part of the adventure. Are you flying into Los Mochis or Culiacán ? Hope you can follow up with a number of big bass reports. Good Luck A-Jay
  11. Can't find the words. Really sorry. A-Jay
  12. I know, right? I have most of an entire season that has the potential to be a super special for big fish brown bass between us and this next Baccarac trip. But despite the great times that offers, perhaps because it is closer and more accessible, these Mexico trips have a way of capturing our imagination and commanding extra excitement that is hard to match. Plus almost being pulled overboard by a few of those grouper size Crazy mexican giants, Gets addicting awfully fast ! A-Jay

  15. Workout Day 4 ~ When I get it right, this training boosts my mood and leaves me feeling energized, strong, & capable. Mission accomplished. I'll be taking two recovery days. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

  17. Classic! I laughed right out loud. Wish I had that kind of mojo. I would only use it for good. A-Jay
  18. That can be a tough time of year for smallies. Only make a few trips to fish for them in July. I'd go with a guide for sure and I might lean towards a floated river trip. Maybe go north - like I need a passport north Good Luck and enjoy your time off. You've earned it. A-Jay
  19. Still lots of this going on ~ But it's Tanker Tuesday and for this one, I'm dropping an 'Other Species' specimen into this thread. 65 Days and a Wake Up A-Jay
  20. The Local County Road Commission is very good at their job. They are fully equipped and prepared for all the lake effect snow this area receives. Can't imagine what the end of my drive would look like if that continuous wall of snow they deposited went unaddressed all winter. Some years it's like a job. A-Jay
  21. Not to be a hi-jacker of my own thread but Forget the cash thing !!!!!!!! What are you paying your insurance company for if you're doing all the work ? I would get a repair estimate and submit the claim to my insurance. File a POLICE Report Along with the info you have on the human that actually caused the damage. You already paid them; let/make them do their job. They have a very special set of skills to get "Their" money back. And now the rant is over. Back to our regularly scheduled programming. A-Jay
  22. Be careful what you ask for. You might end up on your roof with a shovel. Perhaps instead of asking for our winter, you might consider begging for the Pre-Spawn. A-Jay

  24. Workout Day 3 ~ Completed 3 working sets of the 5 scheduled movements and nothing broke off. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
