  1. Yup ~ Still Winter here . . . All this cold is like a relentless hangover, without the red eyes and bad breath I mean. A-Jay
  2. With 90 minutes left in the final period, J Wheeler is 8 pounds and change back behind Mark Davis for that 5th place spot. Scott Suggs is in 6th with one bass so far today. Which is much better than he did yesterday . . . . A-Jay
  3. The Talon replacement Spike came in the mail Yesterday. Looking to effect repairs sometime next week. Minn Kota was nice enough to attach a complete replacement 'kit'. More importantly they included 'directions'. I need those; especially the nice little pictures. A-Jay
  4. Not a fan of the all the Chatting with the panel . . . I want to watch fishing, not jaw jacking - 'How about it ? A-Jay
  5. 1st period's done - they caught a few And Mr. Ashley just got bagged dropping a dip in face. I think he was very hurt by that. A-Jay
  6. Can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning. ? A-Jay
  7. Right back at ya and I could use a beer or eight right about now. A-Jay
  8. Thanks - The little I did see was mostly like that. I like when they struggle. Not the most fun to watch but it's reassuring to see the Pro's try to figure it out. Especially when they are trying so many of the same things I would do and still take a digger. Just like me. #thatsfishing A-Jay
  9. Knockout Round Group 2 about to begin. I got pulled away from watching most of Group 1. Hoping to see more of this one. Still waiting for that Grand Lake Mogan Bass to show her face . . . A-Jay
  10. I fish that LTB rod & have the reel as well, although they are not currently paired. Either way both very nice IMO. I'd suggest for a braid mainline either Sufix 832 or Seaguar Smackdown - both in 20 lb https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Sufix_832_Braided_Line_Lo-Vis_Green/descpage-S83B.html https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Seaguar_Smackdown_Braided_Line_Stealth_Gray/descpage-SMD.html If you chose to go with a mono leader (I do) Maxima Ultragreen or for something less $, it's hard to beat Berkley Big Game (I like green) Both in 12lb test is a decent starting point. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Maxima_Ultragreen_Line/descpage-MUG.html https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Berkley_Trilene_Big_Game_Line_Green/descpage-BTBG.html A-Jay
  11. Hello Chris and Congrats on your retirement. Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  12. Guys miss the cut by an once or two all the time. Nature of the beast. Can't be any worse than a Called Strike 3 or a Ball 4 with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th in game 7 of the World Series. "Uneasy" is what fans talk about & remember. Plus weighing a fish on a moving, rocking & rolling, boat will always have variables. A-Jay
  13. I cover up. Don't enjoy slathering on sun screen. Although I use it when I need it, I'd rather not. HUK, Columbia, Simms & Buff. A-Jay
  14. I use 303 protectant . . . https://www.goldeagle.com/product/303-aerospace-protectant/ A-Jay
  15. We were looking good there for a few days but it was 30 degrees with snow yesterday and it's 30 degrees with snow today. Sadder part is single digit cold is coming for the weekend and into early next week before it warms up again near the end of the week. Expect very little if any sunshine that whole time. Count down to open water is at 1 week and 6 days. That's really seems in danger now. But it's Fish Catch Friday ~ This clip highlights a couple of Ned Rig Fatties I poked on a sunny May Morning A-Jay
  16. Not Helping. . . . A-Jay
  17. It's been snowing here all day ~ #notthismichigan A-Jay
  18. Suggs made it without catching a bass all day. Less is more A-Jay
  19. 30 minutes left in period 2 ~ Been some notable movement on the scoretracker - in both directions. How about J Lee 3 for 9lbs day one and 7 for 24lbs so far day two. Good enough to go from the the bottom all the way up to 6th place currently. I like it. Even made me break down and order a few Stunna's - A-Jay
  20. That can be a bit of a delicate balance. Like so much of it, I'll say honest communication might be key. I'm fortunate to be in a good place as far as that's concerned. And when the weather's decent & my wife's up for it, she'll wet a line with me. #netman A-Jay
  21. Oh No ~ Sometimes life knocks us out for a bit and reminds us that we are not invincible. Fortunately, it also shows us how resilient and strong we are. And you certainly are that @Catt To speed up your recovery, BR is sending you a supportive bundle of strength gathered from all your friends here. And we’re looking forward to hearing that you are on your feet again. A-Jay

  23. These are pretty beefy ~ https://luckycraft.com/luckycrafthome/Products/jerkbait/pointer158.htm A-Jay
  24. Ya well you can keep that. A-Jay
  25. Air temps here are just above freezing, but it's been raining hard almost All Day. Back forty is a giant mess with a delightful combination of slush & mud. However the ground snow is being eliminated in whole sale fashion. Got to think the the hard water is too. Might do a second RECON trip on Monday morning, just to see. Down to a mere TWO Weeks ~ A-Jay
