Can you re-bill a 110 ??
I clipped the Mercury on a cast with one a while back. Bill was toast. Removed the hardware and now it' a sweet ignition key fob and a friendly reminder for me to be mindful of my back cast. A-Jay

Poison ivy
That's no fun . . . . Hope that clears up soon (and is localized on just that area) The big three are fairly prominent here (Poison Ivy, Oak, or Sumac) I stumbled across this video a while ago. It was very helpful. https://youtu.be/4oyoDRHpQK0 Fortunately for us the same preventatives that works for ticks, usually takes care of this as well. Separate clothes for inside & outside has been the deal for a while now. This would really wipe my wife out. Ah, the great outdoors . . . . A-Jay

Those nasty ticks.
Either or I guess. Both methods have pros and cons. We live in the woods. Transporting what lives there inside can happen any number of ways; including what might get on us. Since the 'biting' is actually the bad part, this product kills any that get the chance. A-Jay

A-Jay's 4th Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
Despite nothing that would lead me to believe otherwise, I tooled around a couple of the smaller local Lake Menderchucks yesterday afternoon in the GMC checking for open water. Hard water everywhere with little relief in sight. With a mere 3 days left on this years countdown to open water and snow STILL in the daily forecast, I've had to come to the realization that early April Bassing just isn't going to happen. Hope it opens up soon. A-Jay

Those nasty ticks.
We've used Nexgard for several years now. It's a once a month chew dosed by weight. Did the topical briefly, didn't dig that deal. Not the least expensive option, but it has been effective. A-Jay

Lews KVD Composite Cranking Rods for Chatterbaits
It's all Good. Different strokes for different folks I suppose. These stick excel in casting for me . . https://youtu.be/8x9A8IP3j7w?t=10 The rods handle length, weight and sensitivity are all part of the package as I see it. And it all suits me just fine. https://youtu.be/zIqCmH_52IQ?t=1860 Either way, your perception is your reality. But it's not mine. A-Jay

Thanks ~ It's starting to poke out in a few spots. But just a few. Spring 'happens' here REALLY Fast. Seems like we go from winter to just about summer in only a few weeks. Once the world unthaws and plants & tree buds start to appear, the whole deal goes from brown to green surprisingly fast. Buds are just beginning to show, through the ice & snow. So it shouldn't be too much longer. Either way, you can probably tell by the way I'm rambling on here, I'm more than ready for this winter to end. And so are the dogs, the little ones anyway. A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Still training ~ Knocked out workout #64 of 2022 this morning. Taking a break from posting video. In preparation for open water (which is still at least a week or two away) I've switched my routine to a 'lighter' total body deal. Been doing this for a couple years now. If this goes according to the plan, I'll perform it every other day with an off day in between. My time on the water is precious but I just don't feel right about completely blowing off my training to fish. So a compromise is in order. These 'abbreviated' workouts will allow me to grind pretty hard while still leaving enough gas in the tank to recover and perhaps more importantly - FISH ! Might need to step up the daily calorie intake a bit but we'll play that one by ear. Best part about all of this might be that as another winter ends, I'm in at least as good a shape as I was 5 months ago when it started. I rarely weigh myself but this morning a tipped the scale at @165 lbs. Expect to be at least 5-10 lbs lighter by the 1st of June, simply by coming out of hibernation. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Those nasty ticks.
When we've lived in places where they live, ticks are part of the deal. We are outdoor humans, especially when our world is not frozen. Getting out & about on the trail with or without the dogs, there's always going to be some infestation. Removed Many off us & dogs over the years and with double coated northern breeds, the really small ticks can be tough to find/see somethings. Our Canines are all on preventatives year round. Seems our best defense is to COVER UP and check each other over - after ever excursion. We use the same 'technique' to remove ticks from us & the dogs. Finally for whatever reason, they like my wife a whole lot more than they like me . Just means they have good taste I guess. My dogs asked me to hang this sign out in the back forty ~ Stay Safe A-Jay

Berkley PowerBait Noodling Glove ~
Oh you know you just have to get in on this action ! https://vimeo.com/user150529423?embedded=true&source=owner_portrait&owner=150529423 Backed by science, Berkley PowerBait offers fish a flavor they can’t refuse, making them hold on longer for more hooksets. Now, Berkley has taken that same technology and given noodlers a new, never-before-seen weapon – the Berkley PowerBait Noodling Glove. Infused with PowerBait, this glove is designed to give noodlers a way to successfully wrangle catfish and give the fish a flavor so good, they’ll never let go. Originally designed to withstand the fight of giant catfish, the team at Berkley Labs quickly discovered that the PowerBait Noodling Glove can be effective on more than just catfish. Extensive field testing proved that the PowerBait Noodling Glove increased angler catch rates for bass, trout and other species. The team even tested the glove with local hunters and found it’s just as effective in luring White-Tailed Deer as it is in luring catfish. There is nothing that can’t be caught using the PowerBait Noodling Glove. Check out the Video! A Berkley Fishing Technology MUST WATCH! Designed for noodling but effective on all fish and even White-Tailed Deer Berkley PowerBait-Infused technology Premium color selection Sizing: One Size Fits All Colors: Green Pumpkin, Chartreuse, Fire Craw, Bruised, White-Tail A-Jay

A-Jay's 4th Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
Well with just 6 days left I suppose that puts us on the stretch run. Past few days weathers been cold, wet & just nasty. I haven't been checking the lakes as often as I normally do, as just being on the road has been fairly treacherous with all the freezing rain. This coming week looks promising but might just be a tease as the open water ALWAYS seem to take longer than it should. btw, having the local NWS repeatedly provide the Maple Syrup Outlook might be a good indication that I live in the north woods. Still - it's a waiting game. Finally, it's Fish Catch Friday I've been saving this one but now seems as good a time as any. Catching a 7 + lb Brown Bass was quite a thrill and I am so glad I was able to capture the excitement on video . . . . https://youtu.be/IsGq2UNY_K8 I could be on the water soon Very exciting. A-Jay
