  3. I have not fished in AL so I can not say for sure - my guess is probably. I have fished in ME and There Is No question in my mind - Yes you are missing out on bites from some of the best fish in the water's you're fishing. Because a jerkbait is so productive during the times when some of the biggest fish are accessible; early & late season. And if you are seeking smallmouth - that's even more reason to consider a jerkbait. 'Several' of the biggest brown bass I get every season, choke a jerkbait. So there's that. A-Jay
  4. LOL ~ Nice One ! Thank You very much for this most prompt & results based review. But if I was going to get any sleep at all, there would need to be an order placed. Fortunately, I've had Mr. Sobczak on speed dial since 2007. So that happened. Additionally, a modest assortment of these baits will be clearing customs in Mexico in 257 days. Thanks again A-Jay
  5. For me, it’s about the passion, the adventure, the chase, and the thrill of catching big smallmouth bass from the vast, pristine lakes of the north woods. Many of these Bronze Beauties have been roaming their deep haunts unmolested for 10, 15 perhaps even 20 years. I never know what the next casting is going to bring. And that’s the adventure that I’m always chasing. Hoping it will be that next memory that I can share & remember for the rest of my life. That’s what keeps me going. A-Jay

  9. This is a few years old there may be something better now. Still, although I do not know how or where you fish, but my 'spots' can be several miles apart. Also I can Identify and mark danger areas in advance as well. A-Jay
  10. I have the Contour Elite dvd software for my area (Great Lakes). Decent tool to scout new and especially big water without burning much gas. I can inport and export way points and plot track lines to get me directly to and from areas I want to check and fish. Doing this in advance of getting on the water saves a bunch of time when I do. 13. Seems shipping rods of whatever length, using whatever shipper we chose, is going to cost a few $$$. Price of doing business these days. At this point serious buyers and sellers alike know the deal. A-Jay
  14. Yea ~ maybe I do like that one. Now I'm thinking about it, perhaps it was "Billions" on Showtime ? A-Jay
  15. Just realized I never put up any before & after pics. Seems sort of incomplete with out it. So Before ~ and After. Very basic, same guides with new wrap. I expect them to last at least a season or two. A-Jay
  16. Wasn't this part of a movie plot or something recently ? Sounds familiar . . . A-Jay
  17. Beat me to the punch - I was literally typing the same. Not sure how local authorities an turn a blind eye but after you inform the State & or Federal jurisdiction, I bet the locals will become re-interested toot sweet. Videos are very convincing - Good Luck. A-Jay
  18. You're going to like it. Especially when you find 'the spot on the spot'. A-Jay
  19. Helix 10 user & abuser here ~ Auto chart - although very cool, uses up a ton of memory that the Helix unit itself does not have. The Zero Lines cards are needed to store the maps we make on them. The maps are saved to the card for use in that or other Hunmminbird units. Auto chart comes in handy for smaller water that do not already have detailed mapping, we can make our own. Also can be helpful to 'map' specific spots on any lake to get an updated view of what's there. It's a slow process to map areas and something I do both by itself and more often, I'll map while I'm fishing. Finally, it's a good idea to back up (save) your way points to a SD card as well. These unit save a bunch and having them saved to more that one card can be very beneficial should a unit toast out - you'll still have those hard earned special spots to re-install later. A-Jay
  20. Totally understandable. And after they're re-installed for the day, Graph Glass could help keep them protected while you're fishing. https://graphglass.com/collections/anti-glare-series/products/graph-glass-garmin-7612 A-Jay
