Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  6. I may have nodded off once or twice but that was about the extent of it. Should have just showered, dressed and sat in the truck all night...... Thank you for the support Tim A-Jay
  7. And so it begins . . . . . A-Jay
  8. Week 11 has New England visiting Philadelphia. That game should be competitive. A-Jay
  9. Well I have to admit that I'm just a little disappointed. I thought for sure you were going to sing the Patriots praises. Especially being such a big Tom Brady fan and all. A-Jay
  10. I've been staring at my kitchen clock now for 5 straight minutes. Completely fixated on the minute hand - almost hypnotized. And when I blinked, I could have sworn the darn thing actually went Backwards a couple of times !!! Gonna be a long night . . . A-Jay
  11. Spoken like a man who's been there @Tim Kelly. There's often poor service of any type at the lodge, but If we can get something, you'll see it somewhere. A-Jay
  12. I have to believe that there may almost always be a little extra motivation when some of the teams with a losing record play New England, especially at home. Seems every team plays hard (at least at first) so they can say they beat The Pats. Just ask any Giants or Eagles Fan. I remember the Miami fan base losing their collective minds after last seasons miracle last play win over New England. Of course, the Pats did win the last game of the season, again. A-Jay
  13. Gotta play the teams on the schedule. A-Jay
  14. Well, it's down to the last day before I start this trip. First flight departs tomorrow morning. The local Forecast which had up to now, included more rain than we'd like to see, has improved some by predicting less. As this date approached, the days were long but the weeks went fast. Always seems to be the case I guess. Expect today will drag on a bit. A-Jay
  15. After 5 weeks of play, New England's Defense Ranks ~ Points Allow: 1st Yards Allowed: 1st Takeaways: 1st Sacks: 1st First Downs Allowed: 1st Passing TD's Allowed: 1st Passing Yards Allowed: 1st Third Down Conversions: 1st #GoPats A-Jay
  16. Only for the ones that need an anchor . . . . A-Jay
  17. I have a couple each of Hero 5 Blacks & Sessions also ran a Hero 7 Silver this season. Run them all every trip I make all year in every weather situation. The few personal challenges I've had with any of them was almost always user error. They have been decent for me. A-Jay
  18. Nice and please do - the earlier the better. It was a member of this site that turned me on to this magic place. Once I took the leap - I had a chance to experience fishing I would have only ever dreamed of. I could never even come close to thanking him enough for sharing his experiences and helping me prepare & get down there. (and we'll be fishing together for the 10th time here in 4 days) So I'm all about paying that forward. A-Jay
  19. There are several different trailers that 'work', I use 3 only and there really isn’t any rhyme or reason to what I hang on the back as these all catch fish for me. The Strike King Rage Bug and Blade Minnow are good but the Yamamota Zako is a solid & consistent producer for me. I’ve fished paddle tail swimbait style trailers quite a bit in the past and have all but abandoned their use here. Where a swimbait makes an excellent trailer on swim jigs and spinnerbaits – It just does not produce for me like the baits mentioned above. Even when I turn the tail up, which may folks swear by. A-Jay
  20. I would like to ban the following in no particular order: Wind over 15 mph. Pontoon boats. Anglers who do not carry a scale. And hard water. That is all. A-Jay
  21. Yes - I have that too. Particularly rabid case I might add. I don't always think about giant bass . . . Oh wait, Yes I do. Never mind. A-Jay
  22. My personal affection /addiction for fishing swing heads runs deep. My standard presentation is a stop & go deal either directly on or just off the bottom. Rage Bug & a mid-sized swimbait are my two go-to trailers. Rig has accounted for a large percentage of the brown bass in the Frabil last few seasons. Some additional info here A-Jay
  23. Hello John and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ I will be there and you are in for a very special bass fishing experience. The underspins we use are made up by Tim Saylor at Ledgehead Lures in TN. We use the 1/2 & 3/4 oz model with the 8/0 hook. https://ledgehead.com/collections/tennessee-river-bling The hook seems too big at first glance - but as you may be able to tell from the videos - it most certainly is not. We also used War Baits underspin - We use rigs that have enough space between the mounted swimbait trailer & the blade so not to impede the spinning blade. And must have a gaff for a hook. Six more days & a Wake up . . . A-Jay
  24. Been throwing vibrating jigs on a 7'4" composite cranking rod for a while now. It's been working well for me. I catch a couple & talk about here - A-Jay
  25. If things go according to plan, one week for right about now, I hope to be boarding flight 4121. This first day of travel includes a brief layover in Chicago and then it's on to Dallas Fort Worth where I'll meet up with the other 3 guys I'm fishing with this trip. Sharing my same addiction, they are coming for TN, AZ, & NM, and are Lake Baccarac Vets as well. After catching up and busting chops, we'll spend a mostly sleepless night expecting to meet up with our private Air pilot early the next morning. This last leg of the trip is something I really do look forward to. Flying in the small twin prop over & through some of the Sierra Madre Mountain system in Mexico en route to the Lodge includes some breath taking views. The intense anticipation of arriving at this most special Big Bass destination, is always capped of by our first look at Lake Baccarac #TheRac A-Jay
