  1. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  2. Soon after their release, I participated in the TW demo program with the Calcutta 200D and 300D Ended up purchasing a few. A-Jay
  3. I have & fish both low profile & rounds casting reels. I really do like my Callcutta D's quite a bit, often looking for an excuse use them. Doesn't take much. A-Jay
  4. Right here ~ and at a great price. https://www.amazon.com/Zebco-Medium-Heavy-Quantum-Cranking/dp/B01397STOE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1535844775&sr=8-4&keywords=kvd+cranking+rod&dpID=31PHklQjzOL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch I have 3 and they work well for me. ( pictured on deck ) A-Jay
  5. Yup - it's a tough deal - we've kept a few. Re-homed many. I don't say this too often because they are all special but you can just tell - she's a real diamond in the rough. Alert, attentive, confident, and once she's a little more healed from her spay, we'll get her some seriously needed exercise - The equalizer ! Let her drag me around the county on the mountain bike for a few miles - she starts to sleep really good. A-Jay
  6. Local animal shelter asked us to take this 7 month old pure bred GSD in for a while. We have the time & the room. How could we say no ? We've been doing it for a while and really enjoy it. Good part is we get to re-home / place her. Love that part. She's quite a looker already and has an infectious happy spirit. A handful for sure right now but 3 weeks or so here and she'll awesome. A-Jay
  7. I'm running a 200 hp Optimax now - Not expecting too much in the way of pure speed. But I'll take whatever happens my way.
  8. I went walking stick bait and here's why . . . . A-Jay
  9. A-Jay replied to Jagz's topic in Introductions
Hello Jagz and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Congrats on your up-coming retirement A-Jay
  10. Unfortunately fishing 'terminology' is anything but standard so I get the question. For me, it's where a small(er) creek empties into a lake. The presence of current, water temperature difference, bait, cover and the the proximity (or lack there of) of deep(er) water can all also play a role in an area's bass attracting / holding qualities. The size of the 'creek' can also affect this as well; usually bigger is better. A-Jay
  11. Thanks I need all the support I can get A-Jay
  12. HA HA - You know what, if it will improve may catches I am All for it ! A-Jay
  13. Good idea and probably requires less funding than a new motor & jack plate. **** Update **** Dealer called. Service department's two-blocked for coming week. Next available time slot for the re-power is the week after next. So mid-September now. Still at least 30 days earlier than expected. In the mean time, guess I just have to keep picking off those brown bass, for a couple more weeks anyway. Jack plate's ordered. A-Jay
  14. Gotta admit to being a pretty big football fan. Especially two at a time A-Jay
  15. Besides being way cool, a particularly rare by-catch Congrats A-Jay
  16. Me too and it's a MUST when throwing hollow body swimbait. Otherwise the hook can sag down into the body of the bait which can reduce hook up ratio a bit. A-Jay
  17. Yea . . you know what it's like. Oh they're in there - just that so many end up as snick-snacks for the larger Jurassic beasts that roam those fertile waters, that they may not often be seen by the angler. I might need to lay off the cough syrup for lunch . . . A-Jay
  18. Congrats ~ I'd like to urge all bassheads everywhere - disregard the air temps and start looking shallow NOW ! A-Jay
  19. Been following this one . . . Plenty of superior view points offered. Almost Dead of Winter-like in it's thoroughness. When it comes to bass & learning 'the likelihood and or ability' might come down to survival instincts vs the ability to reason. Applying human characteristics to other species although common, seems insulting to both. I do believe it's seriously counter productive when training my dogs. I could not survive is their world and without thumbs most anything else is doomed in mine. And despite having some basic survival & self preservation skills as well as the ability to reason (so I'm told), I've been known to step into the 'knucklehead line' far more often than I'd like to admit. A-Jay
  20. Nice Smallie - I got a green bass yesterday too - Your's was bigger. Congrats A-Jay
  21. Pro-V's Draft is 16 inches ~ Anything less than 36 I'm using the push pole. Yes, clean right - obscured about 30 % left without operator intervention. Can't say to what extent the SI deal is - just know that my fitment is about to improve. A-Jay
  22. Looking Good ! A-Jay
  23. Thanks Mike & Thanks Mike. I'll be checking out that Locked Up Jig head on the water next week. Looks Sweet ! A-Jay
  24. @DogBone_384 Interestingly - I was born there. (Malden) Grew up & went to school there. (60's - 70's) (Everett) Even worked at Kelly's Roast Beef on Revere Beach back when there were amusement rides all along that entire strip. Majority of my family still lives there. (Peabody) Although times have certainly changed, and I enjoyed my youth mostly, it was just never my style. Too busy, too many people, and I always despised having to plan my life around traffic. Currently reside in what I could consider to be the polar opposite in many regards. Either way - I am a still and will ALWAYS be RAPID Boston Sports fan ! How about those Red Sox ! A-Jay
  25. Thank You & Thank You. No doubt it's a big bite getter. I'm an admitted neophyte when it comes to A-Rig use, especially when compared to other presentations. And - It Is Work fishing it. Especially shallow where I'm sort of burning it along. Being in at least average physical condition, it does test ones commitment. Especially initially, but once you feel that strike - Un-Real. It could become an addiction - fast ! A-Jay
