  1. For sure. Did this as a kid night before most every fishing trip. It was almost as much fum as the fishing . . . . My Dad's tomato garden has loaded with so real Fatties ! He didn't really want me taking too many though A-Jay
  2. Nice Review & Beautiful Bass ~ My experience with these bait is that a 'rolling bait' or one that is 'turning on it's side' is a product of too much speed. Too much meaning, it's not designed to 'burned' - the magic comes from the pace it's designed to work best at. I have found no benefits to exceeding that. If I want or feel I need more speed from a top water presentation, I'll select a different bait that runs correctly at a faster pace. YMMV Congrats A-Jay
  3. Thanks ~ Good Luck with your decision. A-Jay
  4. Yes - I do. Love mine. Here's a couple of reviews - 2 years apart. A-Jay
  5. Lucas Oil Slick Mist Speed Wax works on a CLEAN hull ~ smells like Bazooka Bubble gum. Nice. Boat Bling Hot Sauce removes water spots off a waxed hull without removing the wax - it's a white vinegar based with a fairly strong vinegar smell. Lately I've been adding some of the Lucas to the hot Sauce - works well and smells better. A-Jay
  6. Any prop damage causes a certain level of shaft vibration. The more damage, usually the more vibration. There is also a chance you may have bent / otherwise cause damage to the propeller shaft. This is also mostly undesirable and can & usually does cause some level of vibration depending on it's severity. Vibration is an arch enemy of your outboard motor. While one can continue to run a unit with some damage (and many do), like most any deal, sooner or later there's usually collateral damage as a result. IMO best course of action is to have an 'experienced eye' check out your rig. At the very least sounds like you may need a new prop. Finally - stained water is perfectly safe to run it. However it's important to know where safe depths are & where hazards lie in advance of the launch. Good Luck A-Jay

  9. I know - I'm a spaz. I routinely replace & make up new bags over the winter in preparation for the up coming season. This winter seemed particularly looong as ice out took foreeeeeeeever. Each time I open that hatch and see those silly faces - it reminds me of what I was feeling when I did it and how awesome it is to be on the water now ~ #nothingforgranted A-Jay
  10. Perhaps you don't realize it however what you've described above - is "waiting"; but I agree with you. The "waiting" reference is directed at Not Setting the hook the second one sees the bass strike the bait. That split second 'pause or wait' it takes to allow the fish to get the bait & turn it's head down or at least away for the angler is all it takes. Waiting much after that can spell trouble, especially if we're presenting the bait in some heavy sloppy cover. When a bass has time she'll weave that line through all kinds of jungle which makes everything that happens after that an exercise in frustration. A-Jay
  11. Just wait - it gets even better. Pre-teen is a 'fun time'. And mid- to late teen starts the 'one word answers'. Hey son, Where you going ? - Out. Hey son - How was school ? - Fine. Along with that and the term "I don't Know" (which after a while my son knew not to say to me) - the one word communication will start all kinds parental goodness . . . . Enjoy . . . A-Jay

  13. Yup - Me too. Original bags - similar baits kept in Label Freezer bags which are placed in a Milk Crate in the boat. Works for me. A-Jay
  14. I can relate t this. My son was in this club too - he lived on Bologna slices & Pop Tarts for the first 6 years of his life - drove me half-crazy. Especially since this is the total opposite of his Dad, who at that age would chew the face off a rat through an electric fence without thinking twice. He's 34 and married now but I'm pretty sure he's still addicted to pop tarts. Bologna - not so much. A-Jay
  15. Solid Advice right there ~ A-Jay
  16. Thanks ~ I use this ~ My experience with it is very good. I lose fish & baits to pike while fishing for bass throwing anything else. (meaning any nylon or braided line) A-Jay
  17. Never been there but a quick search shows that there are a number of quality bass lakes there. Good Luck with your move. A-Jay http://www.krakenbass.com/top-5-utah-bass-fishing-destinations/
  18. If you are mounting a transom mounted motor on the transom - you'll be good without any modifications needed. Just ensure that the tiller (handle) is facing toward the bow (the pointy end). A-Jay
  19. Yes Sir Here it is: https://www.bassmaster.com/leaderboard/tournaments/carhartt-bassmaster-college-series-national-championship-presented-bass-pro-shops Hope we are fortunate enough to hear the "recap" right from the man himself. Congrats on a Great Tournament @everythingthatswims ! A-Jay

  21. I'd start with straight vinegar. If it's a moderate calcium build up, the vinegar may break it down and remove it without affecting the top coat. Give it time to work - might take a few minutes of 'wetness' to break it down. If it's going to work - there will be very little if any 'scrubbing'; something I'd recommend you avoid. If it's a serious build up, a next level product like the CLR you mentioned, may be required. Still I'd let it soak some so there would be as little aggressive efforts used as possible. I've never used that on a marine product so can offer nothing in the way of expected results. As a last resort, perhaps you could go this route . . . A-Jay
  22. If this unit is a Transom Mounted motor ~ you should be good to go. As long as the (+) & (-) are connected correctly - 'F' and 'R' will see you headed in the expected direction. A-Jay
  23. What do you think it is ? Hard to tell in the pic. A-Jay
  24. Here's to several heavy bands of spiraling precipitation in your immediate future. (That's what we're getting now). A-Jay
  25. Nice Selection Sir. A-Jay
