  7. Been on the water myself quite a bit lately ~ Just getting caught up. Nice job & I hope you guys can keep it rolling. Good chance this next stop will be the polar opposite regarding fish size especially. Great write up and thank you for sharing your experiences. 11. https://lakerecord.net/2018/05/16/kevin-vandam-headlines-the-2018-bass-fishing-hall-of-fame-inductees/ Certainly well deserved. Congrats to all the inductees. A-Jay
  12. SLOW DOWN your retrieve. These bait work best when they are c r a w l e d slowly along the bottom. It's not like a chatter bait / vibrating jig. These must be worked much slower - but that's when the magic happens. A-Jay

  15. While making your choice, keep in mind that Two-way VHF radios work best when there’s a clear line-of-sight between the sender and the receiver with little obstruction. VHF radios are used exclusively in aviation and marine communications where signals are sent across open bodies of water or between the sky and the ground. VHF band walkie-talkies are also great for open fields, golf courses, landscaping and for outdoor security situations with few obstacles. btw - you will Rarely (if ever) get anything close to 36 miles of reliable communication over land with any hand held VHF or UHF radio - especially without some type of BIG antenna in the mix. Here's some more info that you may want to have BEFORE you invest in anything. https://www.quality2wayradios.com/store/Radio-Range-Distance https://www.quora.com/What-should-one-consider-when-looking-to-buy-a-walkie-talkie-two-way-radio-system-for-business-use Good Luck A-Jay

  18. My 'guess' is that the bats are on bugs, which just might be the beginning on the food chain for the evening. And for the record @Catt- I hate bats. Not only because the are always buzzing my head, but what's even more frustrating is trying to determine if a bite is a bite - or a stupid bat 'ticking' my line. Had to learn to fish 'rod low' - when I need to. Don't like it, but I can do it. A-Jay
  19. Here's a 'less pronounce condition' ~ I fly fishing the Big Mayfly hatch here for smallies. I'm fishing shallow (less than 3-4 feet) of super clear water; always at sunset. I have watch both bass & walleye, turn themselves sidways, and dredge the sand with their mouths to scoop the emerging bugs right off the bottom. Blew me away. They leave a 'smoke trail' of sand behind them as they go. It's pretty cool to see. I have since recognized, that a ned rig is wildly effective during this event, when virtually NOTHING else is !
