  8. Between the 3000 & 4000 size spinning reels, depending on the manufacturer and which line of reels, there can be an ounce or two difference in weight. This may affect your rig's 'balance'. So it really should be taken in to consideration when choosing a reel. Also, there larger reel will surely have more line capacity, however, casting distance may not be that big of a concern canal fishing. Either would be fine in that regard. A-Jay
  9. Sweet ~ and this whole deal is mostly south of 72. So we're 'only' getting a few inches from it. Enjoy kicking the "Groad" from your wheel wells. A-Jay

  11. Old Town for the "Paddle only" Lakes Pro-V Bass for most everything else. A-Jay
  12. I've fished them both; Supreme & the XT. They're decent but eventually both models failed (anti-reverse issues). Not abused - worn out. Switched to Shimano Stradic's. Better now. So My Thoughts - Stick with what you're using. YMMV A-Jay

  14. Being held March 16 - 18, 2018 on Lake Hartwell in Greenville, South Carolina. (again) Of the 51 anglers who qualified there are a number who have competed in the event before. Some several times. Of those many are looking for their first Classic win. But some still have won this winner take all event before. Casey Ashley 2015 Luke Clausen 2006 Mark Davis 1995 Edwin Evers 2016 Randy Howell 2014 Mike Iaconelli 2013 Alton Jones 2008 Jordan Lee 2017 Cliff Pace 2013 Skeet Reese 2009 And then there's Mr Kevin Van Dam, making his 27th appearance this year after winning in 2001, again in 2005, then back to back in 2010 & 2011. So - who's taking the trophy home this time ? A previous winner, or a first timer ? I'm going with this year's AOY Champion ~ Brandon Palaniuk A-Jay

  17. Hello ~ Thank You for your Service Welcome to Bass Resource A-Jay
  18. We're at about a foot or so - been snowing on & off (but mostly on) for several days. Par for the course. The 'snow belt' is often the target of the 'white, blue & purple' snow forecast hue. But amounts can vary wildly within it. Many times our little world here will get hammered, and just a few miles west, will get quite a bit less. In order to get the 150 inch average - needs to snow at least an inch a day for 5 months (Nov - Mar) So it's rare that at any given point throughout the day, that it isn't snowing. At least a little. Sort of like living in a snow globe - no shaking required. We want the snow - just not digging the sub-zero wind chill right now. A-Jay
  19. Been very fortune to catch a handful of green bass over 10 lbs. All were in Mexico. As for the state - I was in a state of Hysteria ~ Every Time. (still looking for a brown one . . . . ) A-Jay
