Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  2. And there it is ~ The First U-Rig Bass. The 20 kt ENE winds weren't making it easy but I hung in there. Nice confidence boost too. Because if I can make it happen in the mini-hurricane I fished in today there should be better days ahead. A-Jay
  3. It's the Megastrike StrikeBack Colorado Willow Spinnerbait and a Strike King KVD Perfect Plastic Blade Minnow. A-Jay
  4. It's like deja-vu, all over again ~ A-Jay

Yes ~ Where & How your jig is presented will almost always trump color. A-Jay
  8. I love the temperature they bite in . . . all of it - And I hate the temperature that they don't . . . all of that too. Could care less if I'm wearing Omni-Heat or Omni-Freeze - I'm almost always more comfortable with a tight line. A-Jay
  9. Very Nice Bass ~ WTG Shimmy & Shimmy SR. A-Jay
  10. Nice Bass Congrats on the solid day. Please consider wearing a life jacket while in your kayak A-Jay
  11. Yup & Yup ~ You know. A-Jay
  12. Hello Donald and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Please Thank your father for his service. Your list of big fish there is no doubt impressive. Love to see your picture of that big Smallmouth Bass . . . A-Jay
  13. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A re-power is worth the cost if you believe it's worth the cost. The only opinion that may really matter here belongs to the guy shelling out the $$$$. Good Luck either way A-Jay
  14. Sounds like you both made the best out of what seemed like tough sledding ~ Congrats on squeaking out a win and taking the lead. A-Jay
  15. I use a U1 as a starting battery on a 33 inch self propeller walk behind mower. I use a pair of 31M's on board the Old Town. I am not familiar with or a fan of using "little" batteries to power my fishing. A-Jay
  16. Nice Bass There Low Rider ~ Congrats A-Jay

    Here's some info A-Jay
  18. Agreed ~ something else to consider; rather than using that water temp as an indication of when to throw a blade bait, perhaps use the fishes location / position on the structure as a guide. Once the smallies vacate the shallower haunts and set up on the deeper & steeper structure, they become very susceptible to metal on the bottom. Obviously they don't all do it at once but often times there are quite a few bunched up there well before the water temps get in the 40's. In your area, I there could be some there by the end of this week. It might be worth a look. A-Jay
  19. Sweet ! I'm looking at 6 days & Nights of COLD RAIN - Booooooo. After 3 or 4 days I may have to bite the bullet, don a Suba Suit & get after it. A-Jay
  20. I hear ya. With those regs I'd probably be in the same state of mind as well. But it's not like I'm at all unhappy with the results the Bottom Metal brings - just looking for another option & maybe a bigger bite. Good Luck this fall - you're due for an Over Sized Brown Bass very soon. A-Jay
  21. Here too ~ and I also have been a Blade Bait user & Abuser; with the same type of Inspiring results on Smallies. This year however, I'm going to fish the same places at the same times just going to present an Umbrella rig instead. Is this something you're done on the Past ? I "May" throw a Blade bait first - just to see if anyone's home and the pull the Old Bait & Switch. A-Jay
  22. When on a good bite and a school is fired up, it's common practice to retain the first few fish in a live well. As long as they are of legal size and the legal creel limit is not exceeded, there is nothing wrong with holding on to them to be released later. Just so that they can't go down & tell the other guys "it's a Trick" I couldn't do it in the Old Town, But I do it now. Can't say for sure if it really helps or not. But it does if I think it does. A-Jay
  23. Nice . . . but double occupancy is a New Boat ~ A-Jay
