  1. I am of course Flattered & Humbled by each vote of confidence & every kind word. Hadn't set out to be rich, popular, highly educated or perfect. Priorities are to be real, humble & strong and to be able to share and touch the lives of others. I'm happy and content with that. A-Jay
  2. Wow ~ What a Toad ! Great Bass what ever the season Congrats my friend A-Jay
  3. In habitats where both Largemouth & Smallmouth are present ~ Bright, Especially Sunny Skies - Smallmouth bites seems better - regardless of the season. In Cloudy, Overcast, Grey (barometer low or falling) sky conditions (including wetness) Largemouth Bass seem more cooperative. While checking the forecast (or looking out the window) planning a trip and deciding where to go & what to target - I use this most basic guide to choose; especially if heading to spots that have only one or the other. 4. Nice write up. Above is my somewhat abridged & slightly massaged version of your offering. Not the whole story but enough to keep me busy for the past 50 years or so. A-Jay
  5. Great Information Tom. There's plenty there to confuse me (and before someone else says it - "Doesn't take much" ). I could probably get away with just Two categories and still be OK. Stretchy & Non-Stretchy. A-Jay
  6. OK - Waiting for the pic. I'm betting the BR forum can collectively help with a most excellent solution. A-Jay
  7. BTW ~ I may have to frame & hang your shredded thumb picture in my tackle room. Just so I can refer to it occasionally during the hard water season . . . A-Jay
  8. The list is very long. Don't want to leave anyone out unintentionally. You know who you are. And the great thing about the BR forums is that while reading your report posts, looking at pics & watching your videos - it's almost like I'm there with you. Almost. A-Jay
  9. Great Bass Blue ~ That had to be fun Congrats A-Jay
  10. I have a 112 Fortrex on a quick release mount. The motor came with both the Velcro strap that secures the shaft and the MKA-50 FORTREX BOW-MOUNT STABILIZER KIT (Bounce Buster) that mounts to the right or left side of the bow guard. Not exactly what's rubbing or where on your boat. More info or a picture could help. A-Jay http://www.minnkotamotors.com/Products/MKA-50-FORTREX-BOW-MOUNT-STABILIZER-KIT/
  11. No - that's for the Canoe - A-Jay
  12. They did - plenty of SMB & LMB - all kinds of ways. Frogs - Chatterbaits - swimjigs - and a few other deals. Weather forecast to be nice for the rest of the weekend. Should see some big smallies. A-Jay
  13. You can and should fish in a manner that you enjoy. I have a couple of recommendations. First, and I'm betting you're not doing it much now - fish a jig & craw or a Texas rigged plastic bait more. Secondly every time you stop to fish, turn off the trolling motor and drop a 15 lb anchor. As the day progresses, you may find that you'll be spending a little more time at each spot and you may just bump into a few more (better) bass. A-Jay
  14. If it was dark - it was probably an owl. My night time bass fishing nemesis is The Beaver. The sudden & always unexpected close aboard wicked loud tail slap & splash always leaves me weak in the knees A-Jay
  15. They moved it to the Tackle Forum A-Jay
  16. I right there with ya - I've been Mr. Landscaper for the past week and still have at least two more full days of it ahead of me - I'll be looking to get out next week as soon as possible - Hope your repair holds up. A-Jay
  17. Hang in there my friend A-Jay
  18. I can't use the "Quote" function and the ability to add an image to a post seems to be a inoperative . Never mind - It's working again A-Jay
  19. I've fished the SK 8.0 up here in MI with mixed results. Done better with the 2.5 truth be told. Doesn't mean the 8.0's a dud, just that I'm not real excited about it. Got a box of them though, because I've got a problem. I fished the LC 105 & 110's "a Little" south of the border when they first came out. I did not have much success with them either but in all fairness I didn't give them much of a chance. As I remember, we got on a fluke bite and that was the end of it for the big crank bait. The 8.0 is doable with big cranking gear. Those LC baits are BIG. You'll want to kick it up a notch when you tie those on. And btw - the LC SKT 120 Mag is pretty ridiculous. About pulled a hammy throwing that one . . . . A-Jay
  20. Just a general observation ~ a creature swimbait - I'm picturing a Lizard shaped offering with a paddle tail perhaps ? A-Jay
  21. The "Creature Bait" category of soft plastics as it relates to Bass fishing, covers a fairly wide array of different shapes & sizes. From simple baits with a small tail to large wild looking deals with multiple appendages and long, curly & even super flapping hind parts. Adding a paddle tail to the mixed, especially on some of the busier baits, sounds interesting. Might be good, might be too much of a good thing. A-Jay
  22. Denver called T/O to ice the kicker - he kicked it any way & made it but of course it didn't count. They reset played the down - He Shanked It . . . . A-Jay
  23. The competitors are being treated to a MAJOR rain & Wind event today. Doesn't look like a good time At All. A-Jay
  24. Bronco's QB Really disappointed me ~ He never called out Omaha even once. A-Jay
