  3. Earlier in this thread there are a couple of posts where MLB fans are discussed briefly. Apparently, Yeajray231 is quite a stickler when it comes to staying on topic . . . . A-Jay
  4. If you like the rod, replace it. I'd recommend a different landing method though. Perhaps a net. Otherwise there may be further "warranty" replacements needed. A-Jay
  5. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Technique specific sticks are a little tough to come buy at that price point. Any medium action spinning rod that feels good to you will work. Fish can't tell what we paid for anything, so it's all good. A-Jay
  6. Solid action right there ~ Congrats Might be another example of "The Fall" bite starting a little earlier than one may expect. Nice work A-Jay
  7. Way To Go Big Fish Jeff ! ! ! Have a Day why don't ya . . . . . That had to be something and I know how you LOVE the Jig Bite. Congrats my friend A-Jay

  10. Way to fish . . . . You've been representing yourself quite well here recently and doing it amongst some very stiff competition. Congrats again. Seems the writing's on the wall as to where this could lead . . . A-Jay

  12. Hello (again ) and Welcome to Bass Resource A-Jay
  13. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ No need to be frustrated. It's reasonable to be hesitant when making this type of purchase. Regardless of make or model. If you're not an outboard mechanic, take it to one. Pay the individual for his / her expertise and allow them to ease your mind. There's at least a decent chance that a 23 year old engine may need some work. Unless it was meticulously maintained, in which case it probably wouldn't be for sale. btw - obtaining any parts needed for the motor built last century could be problematic. A-Jay
  14. Fletcher's Flood water ? Never heard of it . . . A-Jay
  15. Congrats on the new Rig & best of luck with it. btw - enjoy the waiting & The Longest Weekend EVER ! A-Jay
  16. I will admit that in my younger days, I may not have handled other angler infringing on what I perceive as "my space" well. Might have even gone over, gotten up all close & personal and voiced my displeasure in a somewhat loud & demonstrative fashion. Didn't change anything and just made me look out of control. And I was. Stupid really. I call it "Poaching" - it's a term I borrowed from Shaw Grigsby, seems very appropriate & it's kind of fun to say. Those days are gone. There are 2 versions of this for me now. First one is where I'm on & off the water before the general population has a chance to be anywhere near me. Works perfectly. I do realize that this is not always an option depending on where, when & what I'm fishing for. When that's the case, I know going in that there is a distinct opportunity for a "Poaching" ~ and just deal with it - doesn't mean I like it. btw - If I'm going to complain about others doing it - I ensure that I practice what I preach by never being a Poacher myself. 17. I do. I've used a few different brands and have settled on Onos. http://onos.com/bifocals-readers-sunglasses.html IMO better than the Box Store off the rack jobs and are available in various styles, lenses and reader powers; but do cost more. Worth it though. A-Jay

Many in this category can & do perform for me Yesterday, it was the Megastrike StrikeBack Colorado Willow Spinnerbait with a Strike King KVD Perfect Plastic Blade Minnow trailer. A-Jay

  20. Got on the water at daylight this morning. Overcast & warm, mid 60's with a decent SW breeze. I've been fishing many of the largest waters in my area in the new boat. They are all Deep, Clear & for the most part void of any shoreline cover. I've been struggling to put much together in the way of consistent bass action. Been doing quite a bit of deeper techniques & presentations focusing on the deep weedline that's between 10 - 15 feet. Had some success but I've expected more. So today I decided to abandon that whole deal & fish shallower. Trouble with that is much of the water less that 12 feet is completely void of weeds. And I need weeds man - Bait holding, Bass holding weeds. Coontail, Cabbage weed - something. Reviewed the map and started fishing big wind blown flats. Used the side scan to help find the cover. It worked. There wasn't a ton of it, but it was there. Just took a little "searching" electronically & visually. Sunglasses helped too. Threw all moving baits; mid-depth crank, squarebill, lipless & the star of the show ~ a spinnerbait. All caught fish. Which one depended on the depth. But I got bit in 10 feet up to as shallow as 5 ft. And the strikes were Thunderous. I ended up taking the trailer hook off the spinnerbait - didn't need it. They were choking it. All in all probably the best day so far in the Lund. And it's funny, once I stopped fishing for bass like they were lake trout, the bite was on. Who Knew. A Bass is a Bass after all. Going back tomorrow - Oh, and I'm not ? A-Jay

  23. Routinely - but if & when I can remember, hat (and Sunglasses) come off for photo ops. My better half likes to see my starlight steel colored eyes. A-Jay
  24. Hello Nick and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ I am unfamiliar with that area but good luck A-Jay
