  5. I say that space is Too Small for storing any serious bass fishing craft regardless of hull material. When extending an establish structure there are a number of factors that come into play, many you have no control over; zoning, home owners BS, etc. Storing your boat inside is Really nice, for many obvious reasons. Don't settle. Keep Looking. Getting into a place with sufficient storage for something that plays such a HUGE role in your life makes sense and should definitely play a role in your home buying decision making matrix. I bet your wife would understand. Good Luck A-Jay
  6. Nice Bass ~ PB's are Always a Blast Congrats btw - Excellent Hat ! A-Jay
  7. With the scale still reading zero at the start - just like the hook it comes with - any difference seems negligible. A-Jay
  8. This Accu-Cull scale does not have a "Tare" function which allows for the scale to be zeroed to compensate for the added weight. The SA3N ElectroSamson Portable Hanging Scales used on Major League Fishing does have this feature. However, the Fish Grip Jr's very light molded plastic design is very light and it's weight must be close to the metal hook that it replaces on the scale because the scale still reads 00.00 - zero with the Fish Grip Jr. on it. I have not weighed the grip Jr but would guess it may come in a 2 ounces or so. side note ~ Accu-Cull is now offering the scale & grip combo http://accucull.com/products/#Digital-Scale-with-Mini-Grip A-Jay

  13. OK ~ I'll say the KVD baits have a little less & somewhat slower Dart & Roll than an X-Rap (which I have but rarely use). The KVD is quickly becoming a confidence bait for me - not quite in the "Go To" space just yet but if this fall goes like I expect, there'll be a few more in the Lund before next years Ice Out. My advice is get one (Summer Sexy Shad) fish it in spots, at times & in conditions that you'd routinely reach for a jerkbait. You'll see what I mean. A-Jay

  16. I think that's a really good Idea and seems very applicable for many of the small to medium waters I fish. I would buy one of those. A-Jay
  17. Nice Musky ~ Congrats on the PB and Glad to hear you're on the Mend. A-Jay
  18. Although Definitely not an actual word, I do believe this slang term SLAUNCH was first coined by Mark Zona (that's who I stole it from) & used to describe any rather Oversized Bass. I'm not certain if it's a combination of Slob & perhaps Staunch. Either way I think it sounds funny. Bass anglers have a number somewhat bizarre and often kind of off the wall names for Big Bass; besides pig, hoss, & fatty there's . . . beast, brute, monster sucker, giant, dandy sow cow moose, toad, mule whopper Sasquatch or Basssquatch chunk, chub, slob big nasty slaunch donkey (credited multiple times to Mark Zona) Godzilla, water zilla, hogzilla or Basszilla butterball football bucketmouth Rumpletoadskin (by Sv Rider) Hog Molly biggun' girl names: Nadine, Bertha, Mona, Jezebel boy names: Bubba, Tyrone, Ned big mama or big papa Frankenstein swamp donkey swamp gator grass monster Big Mac wildebeest Big Mama Jama hippopotobass slobber knocker chunky monkey pole bender behemoth hydrilla gorilla Jolly Green Giant Toad Choker humdinger Slabber Jabber Granddaddy whale log donkey moss monkey tank, truck, hemi Loch Ness Monster swamp jockey stump knocker hammer, bruiser, beefcake Boom Boom Pow heart attack wooly monster stud game changer freak neasty Donkey Kong Yeti T-Rex, Donkeysaurus Rex, Slobosaurus Rex, pteradactyl Shamu A-Jay

  21. That short 10 week season I mentined only applies to that particular lake. My open water bass season is there for me whenever I what - as long as I can endure the conditions - Michigan Bass C & R is open all year now. A-Jay
  22. Please pass on your idea or description of what an aggressive action is as it relates to jerkbaits, then I could tell you if this bait is like that or not. I will say that the KVD bait started taking fish very early this spring (some ice was still on the lake) and continued to do so on & off all season including last week with water temps in the high 70's. I think this one's clearly better in cold to cooler water like most baits in this category. As most all baits have some inherent built in action, the manner, speed & pause length (if any) are all factors I'm controlling in how I work the bait. "Aggressive" to painfully slow all work at some point. A-Jay
  23. Took my hero out in the Old Town this morning. Today was the last day of fishing for this year on our favorite 'Paddle Only" lake. Weather was nice for this last day of August, a mix of sun & clouds with a pleasant fish catching breeze.. Going on the First & Last day of the of the very short 10 week fishing season at this secluded little lake has been a tradition of ours for the past several years. Making memories & Good Times and today a 6 pound bass, Biggest we've ever caught here. We'll remember this one all winter. Here's some video we managed to get - it's a little rough but captures the memory well. A-Jay

  25. Nice but that one may have expired last year - Might be wise to check with Mr May, he may require a more current one on file. Maybe not though, now that I think of it - you've been uncharacteristically 'less abrasive' & especially more helpful than usual. Are you ok ? A-Jay
