  2. Thanks Darren but that was for you ~ I'm not allowed to fish that thing. It's in my contract. A-Jay

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Nice back round & introduction Thanks A-Jay
  5. You're a Confident & Brave Hunter Catt. I on the other hand, lurk in the shadows hoping to benefit from the element of surprise. A-Jay
  6. You know that was the under lying gist of my response there. But I still prefer to refrain from "educating" too many shorts. Rather have them learn the cold hard steel lesson later on. A-Jay
  7. Each trip, I am fishing for the Oldest Fish I can find. Size is relative to the habitat I'm on but the objective is always the same. Never interested in juvenile specimens of any species and will always be happy with a skunking rather than sore lipping a bunch of youngn's. A-Jay
  8. Here's to no bad beats. Know when to Hold'em & Know when to Fold'em. Good Luck A-Jay

  10. A skirt making tool or even a small crochet hook will work. A-Jay
  11. You may want to consider using a net with sufficient handle length to accommodate the conditions you fish. Bank flipping 2 & 3 pound bass is totally doable - BUT sooner or later you're going to stick "The ONE" and there will be no bank flipping her. Of course you could make an attempt to but we've all read the stories here. "She got off right at my feet - and she was Huge!" A pair of hip boots is another option which would allow one to safely transit through the shoreline slop (and any reptiles) but I'd agree with you that reaching for a treble hooked bass (especially at night) is a risky proposition. So a net's a much safer deal. A-Jay
  12. I'm really liking what I'm seeing with this Minn Kota's new Ultrex~ Might be a one season of use Fortrex for sale soon. A-Jay
  13. Probably not. But you're also probably not the only one who's self-imposed limited skill set could be hand-cuffing potential success. While fishing a new technique, it's not so much about "Catching", it's about learning. You might help yourself out quite a bit here if you set reasonable expectations. The chances of nailing a 30 lb bag the first day out while learning something new are pretty slim. Don't rush it, enjoy the journey. You'll be a better fisherman for it. There's a ton of confidence boosting satisfaction in new found success. So much in fact that it often inspires one to try something else. A-Jay
  14. Hey, the LUCKY CRAFT Pointer/B'Freeze 128F is built for catching big fish. It's an ultra-buoyant, shallower running versions of Lucky Craft’s famous Pointer series. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LUCKY-CRAFT-JAPAN-Pointer-BFreeze-128F-Moko-04360746-Katakuchi-/141802808559?hash=item21041b24ef Incidentally, I know of at least one LC Jerkbait Collection ( also a BR Forum Member) who's truly impressive collection makes mine look like the lame starter kit that it is. 15. btw ~ If one was actually considering procuring one (or more) of these most effective baits, I would highly recommend the below establishment. See attacked Link ~ http://stores.ebay.com/I-Love-Hard-Bait/Pointer-BFreeze-/_i.html?_fsub=476785011&_sid=270166761&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 3 (or more) baits purchased gets you fast free shipping ~ A-Jay
  16. If you're referring to the Lucky Craft Lightning Pointer XR ~ I do not own any, so I have no experienced based info to pass. That bait is presented as a "Slow Sink" lure. For most if not all of my jerk bait fishing - that would not be a desirable or effective characteristic. A-Jay Exactly. A-Jay
  17. Opinion on lucky craft ? Are they worth it? I can't speak for every bait Lucky Craft makes, but my modest LC Jerkbait collection is based on results. "Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess." A-Jay
  18. Although I'd agree that the largest Bass are often the wariest, in places where DD bass live - they are caught. I grew up there (MA) ~ until we start seeing a few MA DD bass hanging or sitting on a certified scale - you're assertion is just that - an assertion. A-Jay

  20. Here's some things to consider ~ The end of July and most of August are Historically tougher bass fishing periods all over the country including Delaware. Fishing pressure often puts off bass, especially on small, easily accessible waters making catching bass challenging. Bank fishing can be particularly frustrating when encountering the above. Unfortunately, there are no super secret lures or techniques to overcome these situations. There are a ton of articles & writings that suggest all types of "solutions". However I think what you'll find is this: Bass fishing is Always better early and later in the season. Summertime bassing is still quite good most everywhere. However, smaller bodies of water that are only shore accessible that receive heavy fishing pressure are and will probably always be tough sledding by August. I have a few suggestions that have offered a bit of success for me when faced with a similar situation. If you can safely to it - fish at night. Consider fishing at a different lake. That's not meant to be funny or a me being a wise guy. Some waters I just Do Not Fish when the odds are totally not in my favor. I like to fish but I like to catch too. Bass fishing is hard enough so no sense making choices that make it harder. If there are good fish there, I'd be content to try for them early & later in the season when they are much more cooperative. And finally, be patient. Don't burn out now. Pace yourself. Once the Cool Autumn air rolls in, the bass there will come a little shallower & be in an eating mood (which is important). Finally, much of the local angling pressure usually fades quite a bit as well. Good Luck A-Jay
  21. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Perhaps switch up your technique, presentation (lures), and usual locations. Seems you got catching the juvenile bass down. Maybe fishing in different spots, at different times, using baits that target bigger bass. May not get as many, but this could improve your opportunity to get a bigger fish. Finally, spring & fall are often great times to get on bigger bass so concentrating your efforts during those times helps out as well. And if you can, fishing at night is often a game changer; especially during the Dawg Days of Summer. Good Luck A-Jay
  22. Congrats ~ On the PB & the Birthday. A-Jay
  23. I went with the bracket system. Makes motor switch out & removal (if & when TM repair is required) very easy. Once it's on - there's no issues. A-Jay
