Same Lures Every Year
Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ My experiences have shown that by & large, certain techniques (and lures) seem to be somewhat seasonal and often do repeat themselves. But year to year, conditions change as do the ecosysystems, which often results in fish relocation (depth change) as well as what bait the bass may be feeding on during any given season. Adapting to the situation has seen me using some older baits effectively and some newer baits as well. Your results may vary. A-Jay

Does This Make You Mad?
C & R is my routine as well. But do you think that there might be an occasion where an angler on the bank who does not, is looking out as a boat angler releases a catch and thinks to themseleves "What's the point?" To each his own. A-Jay

New Member Seking Some Advice
Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Often times smaller bodies of water can be tough, especially ones that get fished a ton. But if there are bass in there and one is persistent, at least a few can be caught. There are a couple of fairly easy techniques that can be effective in here. One is a drop shot and the other is a Soft Plastic Stick bait. I'd encourage you to check them out. I've attached some info on them below. Good Luck A-Jay http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/how-to-rig-senko.html

Silly Flashlight Question
If you are using a small flash light or head lamp, as long as you don't shine it directly where you are fishing I do not believe the fish will be affected. If your're talking about a bright lantern or spot light - maybe. However, without a red lens on a head lamp or flash light, you'll be blinding yourself. Read up on "Night Vision". You'd be surprised how well you can see without the use of a light once your eyes adjust to the darkness. It take several minutes (Usually 20-30 minutes) to fully adjust and it's essentially wiped out every time you subject yourself to white light. It comes back but it does take several minutes again. A red lense really helps here. I fish quite a bit at night and Clearly Safety Always Comes First, but I use a head lamp sparingly - to re-tie, de-hook and land fish when I need to. A-Jay
