  2. One of my All Time Favorite's. Great Top water, Killer swim jig trailer, and for those who haven't Rage Rigged it, you're really missing out. Super, Super Durable. And you're right. Hard to come by. Don't really understand why ? ? ? But this is a good deal Thanks for the heads up Kent. A-Jay
  3. Cool - But whatever you do - Don't Fall IN ! ! ! A-Jay
  4. Cold front bites are tough - you're young. You'll learn that. The forecast for your area looks promising. A warming trend is on the way. This should help. Warm with a west wind Tuesday - looks like the best of the next three days but warming is always better than cooling now so get out when you can. Try a drop shot (with a rage craw). Lighter line Helps with your clear water. Also any baits that you have confidence in that worked in the spring usually work in the fall; in the same places too. Good Luck A-Jay

  7. 6th Sense makes a Great Lure in every sense. I've been a Big Fan for a while now. And they just introduced a new line of jigs. They look Divine. A-Jay
  8. Largemouth definitely gobble up a properly presented blade bait. Remember a cleaner bottom is key - and may be why the bait is not fished in your area. Either way, a killer way to fish it is to position your boat over or just back up onto a grass flat and then cast out into what is usually a deeper but cleaner bottom area, and work it back. Working up to or along that bottom composition change (from clean to grass) is often a bass gold mine. They seem to want to grab it right before it "escapes" into the grass. Good Luck A-Jay

  10. Me Too ~ And I can cook & tend a mean bar as well. Pick me up on the way by . . . . please. Geeeez - those are FAT smallies. They look like they are about to Burst ! A-Jay
  11. Cool ~ Something to remember and this is vital as far as being able to fish the bait correctly. Blade baits work best bouncing along the bottom. So a relatively clean, weed / grass free bottom is Very Important. Sand, gravel and even rock is desirable. Trying to fish these baits down through weeds & or over grass is an exercise in futility and very frustrating. Fishing blade baits around Wood & / or Brush is do able as long as you can stay out of it most of the time. Otherwise you're going spend a lot of time hung up and probably going to lose baits. There are other baits & techniques that are better suited for vegetation & cover than blade baits. Good Luck. A-Jay
  12. Thanks ~ no there's a way to work the bait for best results. I HIGHLY recommend watching (and then doing) the method seen in this video. My area is mainly smallies but during the fall, I catch everything with these baits including largemouth. 13. During the colder water periods, which is when I've had the best results with blade baits, the bass in my area are rarely in that kind of skinny water. It's just too clear. So I'm routinely fishing at least 15 ft anyway. The 1/2 ounce size works well for me on days with less wind and down to 20 feet or so. With any kind of wind and past 20 feet - I'm going with a 3/4 ounce bait or bigger; offers more control & better feel. The bigger bait does seem to generate more strikes from the bass I'm looking for, meaning Long & Fat. I have a few of the older Original sliver buddy baits that are 5/8 oz - these have become a real fan favorite - perfect size compromise. A-Jay

  16. This is a quick video of a nice Fatty that choked the Silver Buddy a couple of days ago. She went 4.25 and fought like a champ. I tried moving the camera up to the bow hoping to offer a wider and more encompassing view. Seems to work but with the wind (that ALWAYS blows here) it's a little hard to hear me, but you're not really missing much As the waters cools this bite should only get Hotter. A-Jay
  17. If I may ask, how is the reel "Tricky to set up" for you ? Looking to help out. A-Jay

  19. Been doing well on the blade all week ~ Even though the water still needs to cool off a little, the fish didn't seem to care. Video's loading up now and will post it up here in a bit. A-Jay
  20. I know exactly how you feel. I deal with the same thing here. The early fall is tough. Big pike will move right into prime spots and the bass that were there will move right out and the only way to know is to fish it & find out. The Common response here is that bass don't hang with big pike and I'd agree that this is more or less correct. But what is not mentioned is that these spots WERE GREAT bass spots Until the Pike moved in. Bass usually move to the next best available ambush spot and take up a post there. It's a skill to recognize one from the other. Especially when the "New" bass spots are often Very Non-descript. I hate losing tackle so I rig with tie able wire. American Surflon Micro Supreme 7 x 7, Toothy Kritter & Not2Kinky all work. A-Jay http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/162396-fat-rage-blade-pike-video/
