What to bring to the Cali Delta?
Hey there... I'm heading to the Delta for fishing with my grandpa Thurs & Friday. It's my first trip to the Delta where I'll be bringing my own equipment. Here are some things I'm bringing: - Topwater -> Cavitron Buzzbaits, Spooks, Jitterbugs, Poppers - Swimbaits -> MattLures Bluegill & Baby Bass - Spinnerbaits -> White & Chartreuse/White - Plastics -> Senkos, Hula Grubs, Brush Hogs, Zippers What else should I bring? Here is a list of stuff I think I need to get before the trip. - Zoom Horny Toads + Frog Rod - Lipless crankbaits - what colors? - Jigs for flippin? - Few more swimbaits - MS Slammer/Lunker Punker/etc? - Lucky Craft Sammy? All you Delta Fisherman...what do you think about the above and what should I add?

Flouro on dropshot rod?
If you're fishing smaller baits in clear water, you should go down to 6 lb. or 8lb. floro. Just be sure to set your drag appropriately. I would check out P-Line Halo or Seaguar floro.

Cooks of Oregon Custom Rods
got a link? Those look very interesting at that price.

Which reel could handle braid better? You help decide.
If you try it with the Revo S, you should make a post with your review. I have this reel and am thinking of tryin braid myself.

Add another reel to the list that impresses me - Calcutta 100DC
I'm curious to know what other reels impress you?

What's the best square-billed crankbait 3 - 9 ft depth?
Hey there... Will be fishing the Delta on Father's Day weekend and will be fishing crankbaits in timber so I need a square-bill CB that dives fairly shallow and deflects well off of wood. What is your bait for this situation? The only bait I have that might fit the bill is a Poe's RC-1. Color suggestions and other techniques to catch fish on the Delta would also be appreciated. I'm thinking of bringing buzzbaits, baby bass swimbait, and topwater. What else would you bring? Thanks much Robert

Also is there an easy way to determine the hook size so I get the right size?

My Spooks need new hooks
Hey there... I've got a few of the bigger Spooks (I believe the original, not the Super) with two treble hooks and they need to be changed. First of all, which hooks do you recommend and what's the easiest way to swap the hooks out?

Questions about the Fat Ika
It's better in shallow water because it is best fished weightless...so the lure relies only on its weight to sink. It is the slow sinking action of this bait that gets the fish to bite. Your setup sounds fine, but I prefer to fish this on spinning tackle. Just make sure the bait sinks to the desired depth and fish it slow. The bites can be very subtle at times!

Frog rod for under 100 dollars?
Also tackle warehouse is having a sale on Shimano Clarus rods...you can get a Heavy Stick for around $60...or I saw a Daiwa Frog Rod in the classifieds here for $100

ultralight baitcasters
The Pixy is out of your range, but would be the ticket. My 2nd choice would be the Chronarch 50mg. But like everyone else says, the rod better be M/L or Med. with a soft tip.

Good place in California to take a bass fishing trip?
My choices would be Diamond Valley or Casitas...Casitas has boat rentals and you can camp there. Diamond Valley is stunning and the fishing is excellent. They have rentals as well. I have no idea where to stay or what there is to do around these lakes, but these are the only places I would want to fish in Southern California if I were livin in Nor Cal.

New Shak-E2 Heads have been shipped
I got mine and will try out this weekend! I've got a few questions though: 1. Whats your fav worm to use on these? If I had to choose I would use a 5" zoom finesse worm or 5" Robo straight-tail...is a curly tail a bad choice? 2. What rod to use? My lightest rod is my 6'9 shimano crucial Drop-shot rod Med-Light action.

Loomis GL3 verses St. Croix Avid Rods
IMO do not overspend for a Loomis under you're gonna buy an IMX or GLX. The GL series are simply not worth it.

OK Guys -Free Shak-E2 Head Samples to first 50 BR Members
I sent an email as well. Hopefully I will be able to try them. I've really been looking to add the shakey head technique to my arsenal. Bobby - Awesome business strategy and this is one that will pay off! Hopefully more companies out there will try this but as long as you continue to do this, I will continue to look at your products first! Robert

robo worms
anyone wanna suggest a good shakey head that doesn't break the bank? Is the *** one any good?

Kinami Hardbaits any good?
BassXL - It's not quite topwater here but cant wait to try them out. flippin - Glad to hear the Rattle Flash work. They were right next to the Lucky Craft lipless cranks and for 1/4 of the price, I'm happy I went with them. For some reason, I'm not comfortable enough throwing a $10+ lure yet. That will end soon when I take up swimbaitin! Rob

OK to upsize hooks on a Jerkbait???
I know you're talking about the hooks...but can't the rod make a difference as well. I always hear use a mod-fast action for rods with trebles. It could the rod pulling the hooks out! What rod are you fishing these on?

Kinami Hardbaits any good?
Had some leftover gift cards @ Sports Chalet and the bait monkey hit me. Picked these Kinami hardbaits up at 3.99 each. Cheaper than the worms I bought! Here they are... From top to bottom: KB Rattle Flash in Rad Shad KB Spit N Splash in Ghost Shad and Ghost Watermelon (looks like baby bass) Let me know what you think and if you have used these. Also do they make anymore hardbaits? Rob

Your Weapon When Fishing Pads
Buzzbait, frog, spinnerbait. In no particular order.

How to fish floating worm?
Light wire hook...I throw them out and give it a few jerks and let it sit...kinda like fishing a popper. If you can see the worm, you know what its doing so the fish will tell you how they want it when they bite it. Good luck!

best basstrix KO?
Randall... Can't wait to see this...I have yet to try these baits but I always see the Fathead Jr. on sale @ ***. But these baits come in at almost a buck a piece. For that they better work wonders!

Help - Leader Knots
I have no idea how to tie either knot...but my word of advice is if you KNOW you are tying them correctly...try lubing the knot when tightening and using a drop of super glue. It could be your drag on the line is too tight, but I have never used either or those knots or braid for that matter. But this is my advice based upon other threads on this board. Rob
