  1. I replaced my motorguide with a Terrova with the 101 pound thrust on my boat. I did not get the i-pilot feature on it, but having the autopilot feature makes things great! Just point the head in the direction you want to go and it will take you there. I find myself using it when departing the boat launch and going thru the no wake zone to the lake. It buys me time to tie lures and prep rods during that time to get to the open waters. Another great feature with the autopilot is when you want to stay parallel to the shore. Once again just point the head in the direction you want to travel and set the speed. It will keep you on track regardless of wind and waves and you can spend more time casting rather than constantly keeping your foot on the pedal trying to compensate for that. When purchasing that unit, I knew the I-pilot feature could be added at a later time. I have not seen the need for it since buying it. I love the Terrova and it is a great product. Any future purchase of a trolling motor will most definately have the autopilot feature. My advice is to get the model one step bigger than you anticipated. You won't regret getting a more powerful unit, but probably would if you bought one smaller. I hope this helps. Best of luck to you. -Jim
  2. I don't know how many people this might affect, but I figured I would pass it along anyways. -Jim TO: Marine, Recreation & Consumer Electronics Dealers and Customers DATE: 11 May 2010 SUBJECT: Certain Garmin chartplotters may incorrectly or incompletely draw areas of marine charts in a way that makes land or shallow water areas appear to be navigable water. 3. The lens is a Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS. I like it because it is a good all purpose lens. It is on the slow side but I'm ok with that. Most of the shots were at f6.3 AV mode. I think there are quite a few others on the forum but they may not check the everything else section. I had to scale the quality way down to be able to post those pics. The originals turned out soo much better. I'm definately no pro and not trying to be... I just like to roam around and have fun with this little setup. -Jim
  4. I just started getting into it a little bit. I bought a Canon T1i to see if I would enjoy shooting pics... Im hooked and am considering what body I want to get next. Here are a few shots that I took with a Sigma lens. http://photobucket.com/JGrouch-Zoo p.s. Aaron, I took a look at your pics. Incredible stuff man. You have one heck of a talent. I hope to get to that level one day.
  5. Softbaits.... weightless or with a shaky head jig is by far my favorite technique.
  6. I used 3M 5200 marine sealant when mounting the transducer. I squirted some in the holes and on the screws before tightening them down. This will help prevent water from soaking in and deteriorating that area in the long run.
  7. I think all of us do that. The worst part for me is when someone is trying to talk to me in the vehicle and I just zone them out and start daydreaming.
  8. The motorcycle battery is a great idea. You learn something everyday on here.
  9. rofl... .That's pretty funny right there.
  10. I think my worst has been a pair of polarized Oakley sunglasses. I was half tempted to dive in after them but realized I had my wallet, keys & cell phone on me. Unfortunately I just watched them disappear as they fell deeper and deeper.
  11. I am pleased to announce that we now have added the Humminbird models 798 and 998 to our product inventory....of course below retail as usual. -Jim www.AmericanBassOutlet.com 798C SI - $899.95 798C SI w/ NVB - $1,099.95 998C SI - $1,849.95 998C SI w/ NVB - $2,049.95
  12. 5" Green Pumpkin w/ Purple & Copper flake.
  13. I upgraded my Motorguide to a MK Terrova... Could not be happier with it. I definately made the right choice.
  14. Or you could just go to BPS and buy it, try it out for up to 30 days and then return it. Total cost.... $0. Oops... Sorry TW. I have nothing against them. TW is an outstanding company and I've bought a lot from them.
  15. 62? I hope this thing isn't very accurate.
  16. I think the only way to fix it is to melt it down and make it a Merc.
  17. Where will you guys be launching from?
  18. Same sort of thing happened to me during the Kentucky BR roadtrip. > Impressive pictures though.
  19. What an awesome offer! It's nice to see that there are still some generous people out there these days. My hats off to you for giving our service members this kind of opportunity.
  20. What we are talking about isn't portable chargers. They are battery chargers that are permanently mounted in the boat. It makes it really convenient when you want to charge the trolling motor batteries after using them all day. Instead of getting out a portable charger and charging each trolling motor individually, you can simply plug an extension cord into the on-board charger and charge up all of the batteries at once. Hopefully this will help clear up the confusion.
  21. Overton's has them... They may be a little pricey though. http://search.overtons.com/?Ns=p_image_sort|1||p_purchased|1&Ne=1000&N=2199&cname=Fuel-Systems
  22. Hi Jenga, How many batteries do you need to charge? That will help with the selection.
  23. I think what you described as "the valve release air hole or what ever it's called on the gas tank" will take care of your problem. If that was closed, then your tank was causing a vacuum and won't let the fuel to the engine. Let us know if that doesn't work.
  24. Hi Bill I'm in Shelby Township. Not to far from you. There are quit a few BR members in the area. Welcome to the site. You will find a ton of knowledge and great times on here. -Jim
