  1. The world is a stage and were the actors. I feel like the world is one big fish tank and our creator is looking in on us. Since our creator made us in his likeness I hope he comes back before ww3 starts. I hate to miss another fishing season. There is gravity it happens when we get old. It seems my six pack and big chest fell to my waist.
  2. Go to Over Stocked Bait & Tackle. They offer plenty of Muskie and Pike lures.
  3. Lube it with moly so no wear will occur.
  4. My Excalibur silver thread seems to cover all my fishing. I use the 10lb. Excalibur silver thread line. With my crankbaits I use the 8lb Excalibur thread line.
  5. I think the freshwater otters are doing a number on our bass. Where smaller than a pencil point(earth) who really knows what we really are. The creator made us in his image. Someday the truth will come out. On you tube they filmed a US solder with a cloaking device. What's next?
  6. I never thought of launching it up.
  7. I've used a lure knocked from shore when the land is above the water level. The lure knocker worked pretty good. I should of tried it when a snapping turtle took my timber doodle. He was laying on the bottom like a rock. So blended in I didn't see it.
  8. Grab them all when a certain color works for you. I notice with senko and bps stik o there production can't keep up with the demand. Then they only have certain colors I don't use. Thank God I had the common sense to reorder my colors with every order when I purchased something else. The hot senko type colors for me are, Amber red gold flake or a pumpkin flake. Red gold flake Baby bass Reddish color I'm not sure if I'm calling it right. But the Amber and red is correct. I wish they offered a reddish orange gold flake. Look at brannans bass shop these guys and gals in Texas know there baits they all fish.
  9. The first time I used a 6.3 ratio spinning reel by the end of my trip I felt like my arm was going to fall off. I was more worried about one arm looking like Popeye over the other. But like said above I needed to slow down with it. Now I adjust my line speed by eye as I seen my lure I'm ok with it now.
  10. Zeiners bass shop has the Norman weed walker II. Some of this stuff is hard to find.
  11. If you search eBay for Norman weed walker II pics will come up. I wonder if we put a multi colored modern skirt on it if the success will change? Do you put a trailer on it to bulk it up?
  12. When I first started bass fishing in the early spring with awesome success when the weeds came and kind of shut my style of fishing down I explored my options. I searched for weedless lures and found plenty of them. I now carry a weedless tackle box. I didn't let the weeds beat me or discourage me. I adapted and over came the situation. Soon the pads will be so thick we could walk across them. It's weedless topwater action. I need to get a Go-Pro to capture the action.
  13. Sieberts Outdoors has a sale going on right now. We can never have too much of Mike's hand made custom baits. It's good to have a backup supply in-house too. I like having it on hand if I lose any. Sales or not from our sponcers is where I shop first. We need to support the companies who support this site. I think my bait monkey is really a bait gorilla. It just never ends. When I walk into my local mom & pop bait shop I can read the owners mind here comes another $75. I go nuts on his discount rack of out dated lures. He had a orange colored spook. Early one morning it cleaned house like bass after bass. The best $2 lure I ever purchased. With the weather still unsettled and not in full swing with warm weather yet the patterns are all mixed up yet. I might hit Lakeville or zoar soon.
  14. I been buying the Penn 49, Penn 149 and Penn 349 super mariners. I plan n taking my whole gang deep sea fishing. The rods aren't cheap but the reels are solid like stone. I figure we can do more ocean fishing, well the kids anyway.
  15. Bass boats are built mainly floating platforms to cast from. There wider and run shallower. I would think a deeper vee bottom would be better. The only deep vee hull I ever seen is a Lund.
  16. Have a snake head problem put pike in there.
  17. One of my local fisherman makes fish cakes out of them he's from the old country. He has caught many crappies too. He takes everything. We hate to see his car parked at our hot spots.
  18. No way your not enjoying the fight. I like catching them inbetween bass too. The 29" to 32" picketed are a hoot to catch. It's the turtles I hate. They sit like rocks on the bottom grabbing my lure as it passes them then the fight begins. They claw the bottom all the way up to the shoreline. I'm talking a 15" 235 jeep tire sized snapper on my 8# Excalibur copolymer line. I caught the same turtle twice. He thought I had a amusement risen Pickerel are fun to catch enjoy the fight. I'd like to go pike fishing someday. I already purchased the HD bait caster setups for them. They stock a small dam area with trout. They have no clue that there's a great northern pike in there feasting on them. I been on the hunt for it too. I've seen it a few times ambushing bait fish or probably hatchery raised dumb trout that have no clue there's a shark in the water. In all my many years of fishing I recently had one try to bite me many times while trying to remove my citrus crankbait from its mouth. Was he tearing up the baitfish till I caught him. These Muskie,Pike, Pickerel are highly sought after Gamefish. Don't hate them enjoy the fight.
  19. My old faithful penn deep sea and trolling reels are no longer offered in there new line up. These old work horses have been replaced by the newer plastic reels. I'm sure the life span of these newer plastics won't hold up as these stainless models of yesteryear did. But do to saltwater corrosion maybe they will? A lot of saltwater fisherman don't flush there reels the way they should. Does anyone use these new Penn deep sea or trolling reels?
  20. I use the eagle claw 449w weedless hooks. In 2/0 & 3/0.
  21. I have these in the four colors and the ones with the paddles in the center in all four colors. There brand new. I threw them a few times but I should use them more.
  22. I tell the misses Im going striper fishing.
  23. Rebel BIG CLAW crawfish crankbait in chartreuse. Joesfly 1/4oz spinner firetiger apache. Norman thin N chartreuse killer Spinner bait double gold Colorado or Colorado/Indiana blades with a hot chartreuse skirt, MT 4" split double tail trailer with a trailer hook. Jigs with rattle. Hot Chartreuse skirt Don't forget the bass scent
  24. My mentor, my older brother said to keep going and sooner or later they would turn on. We fish from shore. But I challenge myself on every trip to catch more. I think catching an average of nine bass per outing wasn't bad. Due to my health my time is limited. Sometimes an hour or two+ lately. I fish non stop till the pain gets so bad I can't stand. Right now I can't stand at all. My doctors figured it out. I need to strengthen my inner core muscles. To my bass fishing friends it sounds like "I'll be back soon" I'm ready for the best bass fishing of my life with no or less pain I'm golden.
  25. Ok went for PT today. Pretty gal, but she evaluated my leg muscles and she said my legs are very strong. I was logging from '79 till 2000 full and part time. Ok my problem is my inner core muscles are weak. She gave me an exercise to do ten reps every two hours. Looks good so far.
