Tackle Storage??? Tackle Boxes
I have the largest Plano tackle boxes now. The 9606's. My question is how do you fisherman sort out and store your lures? I'm thinking a shallow to medium running crankbaits in one box. Deeper running crankbaits in another box and topwater lures in another box. Then weedless baits and plastics in two more boxes. I don't need the deeper cranks unless I hit the lakes. Tackle storage is a problem. I just don't feel right without having it all with me in the car. All these awesome different baits and no room. I'm a color freak and a tackle hoarder. I need help.

Anyone Try A Noodle Rod For Bass?
I was on my way home from a doctor's visit last year.(cancer) Since I haven't been bass fishing all season last year I was passing by one of my local hot spots when I remembered my trout UL tackle was in the car. The only decent lure I had was a smaller mepps comet. I threw the mepps and it was "bass on" and it was a hoot on light tackle. Now I understand why some use ul tackle. It felt freaking awesome to have a bass on the line again.

Rebel Bumblebug
I used the bumble bee one at a secret hidden pond with big DD LMB. The bass would bite but when I caught a sunfish on it I could see a bass swimming over to eat it. It happen so fast I panicked and pulled the sunfish out of the water as the bass caught up to it. Big bass eat big sunfish.

Steel Braided Line?? Saltwater Guys??
It's not lead. It's actually very thin steel wound mini cable. The outside looks like a tiny snake skin it's wound so perfect. It's very tough to cut.

Does Time Of Day Matter For Crankbaits?
Learn as you go brother. I'm a color freak. I try to use what goes with the different water conditions. Again on a slow day throw chartreuse/firetiger. I was fishing casting and used most of my lures. I was into practicing my different presentations on a slow day. The water looked slightly stained to clear at the shoreline. But farther out I'm not sure the condition. I put on a firetiger and caught bass. I changed to a chartreuse and caught bass. I'm still learning.

Steel Braided Line?? Saltwater Guys??
I'm unspooling a Penn model 49 deep sea fishing reel I just purchased. It appears to have a wound thin cable steel line on it. Does anyone know the brand? This was used for fresh deep water trolling for lake trout.

Colors!
Crankbaits it's all the colors catch fish. Let the water conditions guide you. Spinnerbaits it's gold Colorado, blue glimmer for clear to slightly stained water conditions. For stained to muddy water conditions it's gold Colorado, hot chartreuse. On a tough day when nothing is happening throw chartreuse.(overcast/dark) I'm really confident with my spinner bait setups. My cranks I throw a variety of different colors till I get action. The bass will let you know what the correct color is for that moment. When the bite starts and slows down change colors again. If still no action change to larger size baits same style and colors.

Does Time Of Day Matter For Crankbaits?
Color, natural for clear water conditions fished faster. Brighter colors for stained water conditions fished slower. Brightest color for muddy waters fished the slowest. Having a rattle and a bass scent is a plus. The bomber cranks in size 05 in about 2" long. The square A is a good place to start. Matching the craw colors to your area draws is your best bet in clear water. In stained to muddy water the citrus, chartreuse colors are hot. The normal colors are redapplecraw, Brown craw, green craw, baby bass orange bottom, shad color etc.

Colored Spinnerbait Blades
The bass turn on as it gets dark. I fished every evening from 5pm on till dark at 8:30/9:00pm. As the light conditions change from daylite to dusk the basses eyes change faster to the changing light conditions. As we're it takes the bait fishes eyes longer to change making them easy prey. This happens in the evenings and early mornings. At midday the sunlite in the water causes the plant life to bloom. At this time the bait fish feed on the plankton. The bass also feed at this time. This is good for the shore fisherman to know this.

Best Smallmouth Lure
It's very hard to catch smallies were I fish. One day at one of my spots during a light warm rain the bass turned on. I caught 19 bass standing in one spot by fan casting using a joesfly in firetiger apache his 1/4oz bass size. On the way home I hit my second spot where I never seen a smaller in over a decade of fishing there. I caught two smallies that we're 3lbers. Again the 1/4oz joesfly in fire tiger apache did earn it's keep.

Lure Too Big?
I seen a yellow perch hit a mepps number #3XD inline spinner. The tremble hook just squeezed in its mouth. It's a 12" perch.

Colored Spinnerbait Blades
What the water conditions? Do you use a scent? Clear water natural colors fished faster. So the fish don't get a good look at it. Silver blades. Stained water a combination of natural and bright colors fished slower. But the level of the stained water matters what color. Lure speed slower. Gold colored blades. Muddy water bright colored larger sized baits fished the slowest. Brighter painted blades is another option. Colorado and Indiana blades give off lots of vibration. To me that's a plus.
