I carry a s&w model 58 in 41mag. With speed loaders. I fish alone at night feeling like bait in bear country. If I have to sit something down it will be over quickly. I'm ccw licensed. Just fishing minding my own business. I perfer the big N frame revolver. Why do I carry? Back in the late seventies a Boston night fisherman was stabbed with his own knife by some scum bags. I thought of copy cats so I got my ccw. If you put one good guy with a ccw gun in any of these senseless multiple shootings lives would of been saved. I'm not going to be a victim. I have many decades of ccw a 44mag with thousands of hours of practicing from 25 to 100 yards. You have to practice for when that split second decision that may save your or someone else's life. I pray it never happens but I'm ready. Fight crime shoot back. Let God sort them out. With your iwb holsters in hot weather have an extra holster to switch out when it gets damp from your body sweat. Wipe your gun down and silicone it up every night. If it gets tarnished which even the stainless and nickel finishes will some Simi chrome polish will clean them up.

Ok I fish from shore down stream from a popular boating lake here. On busy weekends I notice by Monday morning I have oil on the waters surface were its man made dam is. It's a light film about Three feet at the shoreline. Since I'm at the river that runs off this lake I think it's from the two stroke motors. My fishing buddies thought it was from my scents. I'd have to drum five gallons to make this oil film. Too bad everything runs down stream and probably ends up in someone's ground water.

While in a rush to fish one time I just couldn't get my casting down. I had lost five new lures I had. The trees looked like Christmas when I left they had plenty of bling. We all have bad days. The worst part is I had 100 yards of casting room with over hanging trees with plenty of room. With my new bait ball lures I'll make sure my oldest son is with me he will go swimming to get back even a $2 lure he hates to lose anything.

If I wasn't hooked on fishing I'd be either at the casino throwing the money away or drinking it. At least I can walk into my tackle room and see where my money has gone. I still have it but it's in fishing equipment. I can't put a price in watching that big hog turn as she strikes my lure after she hit it thinking she knocked it silly. What a rush. Then to see my line moving away from me and she's on the other end. What more can I say. Take her bass fishing at 4:30am and watch the sun rise. There is nothing on this earth that can match mother nature as she turns the dark of night into the light of day. No one has a better view than we do. It's not just bass fishing. Look for the deer getting a drink and watch the fawns being splashed by the freshwater otters at twilight. Listen for the beaver tail slap. How can we not enjoy fishing? We were on our honeymoon camping and fishing. After we got home from Niagara falls were it rained all the time, boring. We did that 40 years ago. We're thinking of doing it again for our 40th anniversary this month. Going fishing besides camping too. We still have that flame. Get up early, take her out for a nice breakfast then take her fishing and let her fish.

My buddy just was home from nam. He was the guy they sent into caves with a 45acp because of his size. He wasn't wrapped too tight. A guy joy riding swung in so close to us fishing from shore so close he cut our lines. My buddy threw a rock while the boat was moving and hit the guy in the head he was that close. He wasn't having a good day. My buddy was a true friend. While growing up with everyone else using drugs as teenagers he pulled me out of that crowd and we went fishing, I never got into drugs with the rest of the crowd. He saved me from that. We fished all over the state. Many of my friends died from drugs soon after that. That was in the late 60's.

I been using Excalibur silver thread copolymer line since I been serious about bass fishing. The original silver thread is very limp and easy to tie plus its very strong. I been hooked on copolymer line ever since. I can do quicker hook sets because of the less stretch. The yo-zuri hybrid copolymer is good too. I find the vicious copolymer a tad stiffer like Excalibur silver an40 but both are very tough when fishing around rocks. I have to wet my knots using vicious copolymer line to tighten them. Years ago Excalibur silver thread had the results of there testing posted against other brands of lines. Silver thread was ahead on the bending cycle test and the abrasion tests. That's why I switched to Excalibur silver thread. I was losing too many bass using rubber band cheap mono. I use Excalibur silver thread original, AN 40 and super silver thread. Cabelas brand had offered a copolymer line that felt exactly like silver thread too. I used that because it was cheaper and just as good as silver thread. But of course it's discontinued. I haven't found another brand of fishing line to exactly match Excalibur silver thread line yet. Right now I'm full circle back to using silver thread line. I found out I can fish with any brand of rod, any brand of reel if it's decent, but I have to have the best quality line my money can buy. Our fishing line is the weakest link in fishing so why not buy the best quality line we can.

I would of taken it home to feed my kittens. I don't take many home. I'd rather take crappies. I just purchased dykes and longer needle nose pliers to go with the 8" surgical pliers.

All I'm saying is any noise out of the norm spooks these big gals away from the shoreline in dark conditions. I cleared my throat once to see her swim away, she was right in front of me. These big gals are out there and there not being caught. They didn't get big being stupid. I think there sences are way keener that we give them credit for. I'm not paranoid I'm just suggesting that there are DD bass out there and trying to figure out what can spook them that I Maybe missing. Listen to the click engagement of your drive to the spool. Do we really ever have enough room? I add new lures as they are offered, some older ones get rotated. My lures that always perform stay. I'm up to a 9606 split roof tackle box just for topwater lures and another 9606 box for cranks. I carry every color and size of each lure. When it's slow I enjoy practicing presentations. Do I use them all on every trip no. But they are there if I need them. I'm at wits end now on what to improve my carry tackle box space. Can we carry too much?

Please be careful I've seen bearings that are spun at high speeds explode and I'm talking larger bearings. I don't want to see little bearings come apart. There is a RPM limitation.

I had the injections today, have to say feeling pretty good so far. I hope it gets even better, they say it may take three days to fully kick in. I feel the pain is reduced 50% so far. I'm feeling great. I'm taking the grandson fishing tomorrow. I'll bring a chair so I don't push it. Thanks to all you guys and gals for support. I feel so good I ordered a new fly rod.

I'm going to order some mister twister New rats this year. There affordable plastics. I've seen the mouse and rat baits used around structure.

I ordered a bait casting reel that ended up costing me around $29 with shipping from China. In inspecting this reel I found out inside it looks no different than any other $50 / $100 reel. I look for the spool having two ball bearings rather than one. The Chinese reel has two ball bearings. Quality wise it looks similair to any bait caster I have seen that's under $100. The fit and finish looks great and the friction knob and brakes function well too. It's not our $140 to $300 bait casting reel. But it works if your on a tight budget. How long will it last I'm not sure but the metal beveled cut drive gears and bearings look like quality. I think this manufacturer was used as a reel vendor for a name brand reel company and when there contract ended the vendor went out on his own. We're getting a better reel at a Chinese price. Now everything from China isn't equal. It's still a buyer beaware. I've seen some low quality spinning reels come from China too. With these you need to disassemble them to check the fit of the moving parts to make sure there correct. One problem I found is the fitting of the parts in the bail swivel. There wasn't enough clearance in the moving parts. A file or sand paper fixed it. For the grandsons first spinning reel or a ice fishing reel it's perfect. Some of there crankbaits are iffy too. Some of there other cranks look like the cabelas or bps brand. (Made in China) Every fishing I have is manufactured in China. Soon everything will be made in China. Sad but true.

In fishing the saltwater fish while trolling for blue fish and weak fish we look for seagulls circling and diving down on the jumping baitfish. The blues and weak fish are schooled up and feeding on them. We pick the blues and weak fish off by circling the large school. We keep our boat and lines on the outer edge of the school so we don't spook them. One by one we reel them in.

I watch my two newly adopted kittens. I use a piece of leather shoe lace to play with them. One brother Garfield(Orange/white) will be playing the split second I grab the shoe lace he is on it. Now his brother Cole(black/white) will Mosley on over and think about the situation. It takes a few times with the shoe lace to execiete him. He's not as easy to motivate like his brother is. My point is the bass are no different after all there predators too. Sometimes we can put a time limit or limit our number of casts too. I run through my ritual of different lures if nothing bites I go through them again with different presentations. Don't forget to keep a logbook. The place your fishing, the time, the day and month. The weather conditions, the water conditions and the lure and presentation. The air and water temps. Scents used, fish caught.

I think I have many packages of there bacon rind brushogs.

I fan cast the area by skipping around. I may try a few longer casts, then change lures. But when I first arrive there I put on a top water lure soaked with bass scent on a long cast so the bass scent has scented a very large area. Then I start throwing my ritual of lures.

I prefer rattles, trailers and scents with all my jigs. I was using the pork chunk trailer. But this year I'll try out the rage tail stuff.
