Low Cost Heavy Line Spinning Reel Recommendations
Right now I been throwing the same topwater lure I use with my 3000 sized reels with the same 6'6" rod just as far with my 2000 reel. So between the two different size spinning reels using the same length stick there pretty much equal in casting using 8# test copolymer.

The Dumb Ghost Is Back
I been to one of the most haunted places in north America four times investigating ghosts and hauntings. Trust me I went in a non believer, a skeptic. Now I believe. My camera would take pictures by itself. It would shoot 4 or 5+ pictures by itself. Something pushed the button. We shut off the camcorder and it turned back on by itself. On every trip something called my dog as we were leaving many times. I believe in ghosts for sure. Search for "dudleytown" it's in ct. I think the place was haunted anyway. But the devil worshipers went there with their degree boards and opened doors for things to enter thru to our dimension and they stayed here. Plus they never closed the door or gateway they opened. Who knows what's there now. I personally seen clover hoof tracks in the snow. That's all I'm going to say about that. It's no box of chocolates. They try to discredit it so people won't go there but I know it's real. Trust me it's no Halloween story it's the real deal.

Spinnerbait Bite
I wonder since it can be a color thing with crankbaits when one color only works at times there is another time when any color will work. I wonder if this can happen with spinnerbaits besides other lures too? I was throwing a #3 mepps w/silver blade Brown bucktail. I was catching smaller bass one after another. Then the bite stopped. I put on another larger mepps in exactly the same color. I caught a larger bass. The larger fish are attracted to the action of the smaller fish but won't strike the smaller lure. Another time I was throwing a joesfly in the 1/4oz bass size in black gnat and catching bass after bass in the late afternoon. As it became darker the bass bite slowed down. I put on another joesfly in the brighter firetiger apache and picked up a few more bass till it became dark. These are a few tricks I picked up along the way. Even in an overcast cloudy day and a light rain joesfly in firetiger apache will again catch fish in the low light conditions. It's all about the chartreuse color in the low light conditions or when the bite stops to upsize our lure in the daylite when the bite stops. Or try a different color. Rules? There are no rules, We need to think beyond the norm. Frustrated never, willing to change, adapt, regroup and attack yes.

Berkely Lightening Casting Rod Med/heavy Action 7'
These have been on sale too. The Berkley lightening was half price at $30 but he has one left for $20 at fish and save 50% off sale. I got the lightening shock rod, the vengeance rod and the quantum tour KVD CASTING rods at TW. I feel since I have a little better reels now I'd move up in rods. I think I'm all set with the casting rods. I have lost more bigger fish than I can count and I think it's the more weaker(lesser power) rod is why my hook set isn't hard enough. Now with the more power in the rod I will learn how to post pics of all my bigger gals. I promise. I'm still thinking about one heavy duty rod with a larger bait caster that I will call "the wrecker"(tow truck) for pulling the larger Siebert Punch jigs and the Siebert swim jigs through the weeds. I'm just done with playing around. I figure on using 50# or 60# braid too. I already have the larger body bait casting reel here nib. One of those heavy duty bait casting rods that can handle up to 1 1/4oz to 3oz lures. A bigger woopin stick. The PB of 10# bent my rod 1/3rd of the way. The one I lost in November bent my rod 1/2 way till she spit my money minnow. I got my education here, I regrouped, I upgraded and now it's time to get it on. I'm all out of bubble gum so you know what's next. I still say these bigger gals here don't hit live bait. All my bigger bass are caught on lures. Why I'm not sure. I have the motivation and the drive plus the heavier equipment for success. Once I catch the bigger bass I'm seeing swim by me bigger than my PB I will prove what I'm saying and seeing is true. This will mean if I have bigger DD bass here in Ct then all over our country you have to have them too. I'm willing to bet our bigger bass here are around 12# to 15#. It's hard to judge size in the water because of how fat they can be but there bigger than my PB of 10#. There a tad longer.

Lews Spinning Rods??
I have three Finor Lite spinning rod setups. Two med/hvy 7' rods and one 6'6" medium rod. I'd like to add another rod setup and try a different brand of rod and was wondering if a LEWS Speed Stick is a good spinning rod? The spinning rod setups I want are for; Topwater Crankbaits Spinnerbaits/Inline spinners Carolina Rigs (plastics) Smaller weight lures were the bait caster is harder to cast. So is a lews speed stick good or not? There $89 rods for $44.

Us Reel Super Caster On Sale
On the down side I just talked with my supplier about buying extra parts like springs. He said some parts are tough to get and some customers just end up purchasing another reel. I like the idea of the super cast design of the bait caster for any lure that's always moving. And the idea of a longer casting spinning reel but it comes at a discounted price but parts is a problem. I haven't put any parts in a spinning reel yet but my D.A.M. Quick 110 spinning reel did need a bail spring at onetime but it came in the box when the reel was brand new. I did use the reel a lot. None of my spinning reels have needed anything since. I guess an order for extra new bail springs would be in order.

Berkely Lightening Casting Rod Med/heavy Action 7'
I'm spending some money now, a little. I know I need more quality rods too. I'm no pro fisherman. But I'm probably your pro shore fisherman. I'm lucky I have some awesome hot spots nearby and being able to read them. I'm a lucky guy or is it my skills and I'm still learning. I went thru 45 radiation treatments and three hormone shots. Hot flashes suck. All I can say I never knew I had it. Every guy should push your doctor to get it checked. I'm still upbeat and it can ravage my body but it can't get my soul. I'm beating it for now. I don't let it bother me. Buying fishing tackle and getting ready for my 24/7 non stop action in the spring. I never had decent tackle. I been using $2.50 fishing rods. But been upgrading to $50 to $99 rods. I know I need to get a better quality stick too. I just about missed the whole fishing season this year and my bear/deer hunting season too but I'll catch up next year. Right now I'm looking forward to later in October and In November to fish. I lost a big fish in November while it was lightly snowing. I was throwing a YUM Money minnow. After a fight that felt like hours when it was only minutes it spit the hook. It actually had my rod bent in half. No fish has ever done this before. Now that I think about it it's my fault do to using the wrong rod action/power for the lure I'm throwing I don't have enough power in the rod for a good solid hook set. Hey I'm still learning. It's the reason to upgrade everything I'm losing too many bigger fish. Now I need to figure how to get my new 7'one piece rods into my jeep wrangler. I guess a running start would help?

Berkely Lightening Casting Rod Med/heavy Action 7'
One of my four new casting rods showed up today. The new Berkley Lightening casting 7' med/heavy action rod. I put one of my new Chinese bait caster reels on it with braid line for using jigs. It has plenty of backbone and power. It should work for now. I'm ready to wet some of the siebert outdoors jigs.

What Size Net For Bass?
I was bass fishing standing about 3' above the waters edge. I was alone. I caught a very large silver fish with baby sized square teeth. With no net and being I have bad worn out knees I brought it to shore and let my line go slack and let it go. I later found out it was a silver salmon and possibly a new state record. The Mann's baby 1 minus crankbait did its dance and the salmon went for it. Again this is a 10acre body of water with a manmade dam for water power that gets the winter and storm runoff from a larger lake that's up stream. I found out they did stock the larger lake with salmon years ago. I use a local deli to weigh in all my big fish that's minutes away. Plus he sells fishing stuff there too. I'm on his wall of fame with my 6# 1oz bass caught at the same spot. My point when fishing from certain shore areas we too need a net. Or never go alone. The 6#1oz bass I caught there, the line broke as I had her at the waters edge. I thought quick and split my two piece rod and used the eyelet on the upper section to pick up the bass and get my topnocker back. Again no net.

Favorite Siebert Jig??
Favorite? All of them I think I have around 50 of them now. All Mike's hard work. At my river spot the craws are a beige to brown. At my hot spots the craws are a mix of red with black backs. I purchased most of the colors so far but my logic is the rule of matching the color to the conditions that's why I went with the chartreuse color too. If it works with crankbaits why not jigs too? I'm a color freak. If the bass are limited to seeing certain colors at times why fight nature. With the different colors I can beat nature at its own game. Now when your throwing one color crankbait and it's not working try the other colors till one works. Remember the bass can see certain colors at different times during different water conditions. Don't throw by the rules think out side the pond and buy the brighter colored jigs too. I leave no color unused when I'm fishing why limit ourselves? Step up your game. Mike has the best jigs. How Long Of Break Do You Take From Fishing ?
Best of luck with your recovery from Cancer. Both my parents had it within the last three years and are clean today. The Chemo & radiation slowed mom down for a while, but the long recovery was successful. Thanks greatly to Dana Farber....
