New Pb On A Swimbait!

Fished my buddy Jon's Uncles ponds in today. I was messing with my new 6" S Waver and had caught a dink and missed a few others at the big pond so we decided to fish the little ponds in the back yard. When we got to them there was a few big grass carp cruising the surface. Just jokingly I cast my S Waver in front of one like I was trying to get him to bite. I was more than a little surprised when a different carp shot off the bottom and T boned my bait! The pond is tiny so it didn't have anywhere to go but even with my heavy swimbait rod and line it still took a long time to wear her out and even then I had no idea how I was going to land her with no net. I had to get in about knee deep and steered her head towards the bank and then pushed her up onto the bank. We didn't want to risk killing her and our scales were a long walk to the truck so we snapped a picture and put her back.

That thing is a pig. Who much would you say she weighed?

Lol that's awesome. Swaver is a nice little bait huh? I got to try mine last weekend and it has great action for a small 6" bait. Got one in bluegill color. I only managed a small pike, no bass or massive carp. I plan on getting a couple more.

I guessing around 35lbs? Who said grass carp only eat weeds.

She slammed it as it was slowly sinking, same way I got my only bass of the day on it. I had her belly smashed in pretty good in the picture, she was extremely thick and very fat. From holding her and compared to the big catfish I've caught I was guessing in the 50-60 pound range. I wasn't really concerned about weighing her, it was awesome and she was huge either way.

That thing is stupid big.

Congratulations! That's a great fish in anyone's book. And yes, carp will hit almost anythng at some time or another. I've caught them on spinnerbaits and Senkos! Nothing that size though.

I see those things in this lake I used to fish. I wanted to catch one so bad! They were massive.

Nice carp congrats on the PB I could use her at my one spot where the grass has taken over the pond

as far as weight and length goes its going to be impossible to beat that PB on your swim bait with any bass lol

For that first couple seconds after she hit it I had that glimmer of hope that I'd hooked some kind of freak bass, but I knew there was no way it was a bass.

nice "Amur" i caught this fish on boile or corn.

Out of thousands and thousands of casts I've caught only 2 grass carp ( aka white amur, which is a Chinese minnow) on lures
