Soft Plastics Are My Downfall...need Some Advice.
I c-rig my senkos, brushogs using a 1/8oz brass bullet weight with a clicker and a 24" leader plus a weedless hook. We can adjust the rate of fall by using a heavier leader. I wacky rig the senkos. On the cast I keep the line taunt to the rod tip and watch the tip for the slightest nibble as it falls. With worms I'm old school with the split shot rig.

Great Northern Pike And Muskie Blade Baits?
Has anyone used the larger pike & Muskie blade baits for bass? Larger inline spinners & spinnerbaits? Do you think these larger baits will work?

Spinnerbaits And Buzzbaits ?????
Why do most spinnerbaits and Buzzbait have the open loop tie setup? What does the open "U" shape loop really do? Since I use the ball bearing locking snap swivels only I'm limited as to what spinnerbaits I can use. I never seen a closed loop Buzzbait. So what's the advantage of the open loop tie on the spinnerbaits and buzzbaits? Fishing in the dark I have a hard time tying knots.

Why Do We Fish?
At 4:00 am it's being out there blending in with nature. Seeing what this planet we live on has to offer. There is nothing like watching the night turn to daylite. The twilight time is so special. It's a time when the nocturnal animals go to sleep after hunting all night. The freshwater otters head to there nests too. The beavers really live up to there busy as a beaver label. I have to say inbetween fishing nature does put on a show for us.

Whipped Into Attention Immediately By A Hit?
In the beginning of getting serious into bass fishing I was fishing with two rod setups. I was casting baits while my live bait setup was on the ground casted out with a live minnow on it. Of course I'm watching the live bait rod while tossing the lure off a 8' high cement culvert. I'm looking down at the water. My 5' live bait rod starts to take off heading for the water. I grabbed it just in time while balancing on the 18" wide cement top on the culvert. I caught a nice 3lb lmb. This was private property but fishing off the culvert was legal. I would relax and sit and fish off the cement at this culvert too. One day a very long, very thick black snake coils up on the cement and springs off the wall into the water. I didn't see it till it was in the air. My son's seen it launch too. Another day we were there my son was on crutches from a broken leg. This snake was up in the weeds above us as we went to leave. All of a sudden my son is up in the air balancing on one crutch. As I seen the snake slithering past him towards me. We're going up hill he balances his whole body on one crutch. That will wake us up.

Sight Line Fishing
I always cast into the shaded areas parallel to the shoreline when I can. Areas that are shaded by the trees and the sun's position. Use everything to our advantage.

Whipped Into Attention Immediately By A Hit?
When I'm fishing I'm in the zone. I don't think about anything else but fishing. I shut out noises, conversation stops. I'm motivated and focused on what I'm doing. With plastics I watch that tip with laser beam eyes. The slightest nibble I set the hook.

Be aware of the click on lower price then remember to make sure it's correct at the checkout. The bait and switch prices are a common rip off.

Opinions On What Spinning Reel Size For Best Balance
I balance all my spinning setups. By changing reels till they balance. I haven't had to add washers and a screw in the end of the rod handle yet. I'm working on my spinning setups now the casters are next.

Fishing Tubes For Lmb
I notice some fishermen fall a sleep at the controls or distracted when tube fishing. The bass take the tube in too deep. I try to focus harder when fishing plastics. When there lip hooked I'm on my game.

Help On Catching Bass In Overfished Pond/lake
First welcome to the bass fishing forum. It's an online imformation highway into the world of bass fishing. Pull up a chair, your favorite cup of brew and enjoy. I fish the same places every year. I notice while one spot is pressured really heavy in the evenings and weekends it's still hot in the early am when the place calms down. This is a larger body of water. Now another one of my hot spots I notice the fish actually learn our baits. What's hot this year won't be hot next year, it won't catch as many bass. We're like a baseball pitcher we have to change up out pitches/baits to keep the strike rate up. This is in the smaller bodies of water one to 6 acre ponds(example). I learn to cast new baits in between my older baits. Change colors too even with plastics. Don't be afraid to toss a bigger bait like a bigger shad rap. I honed my skills on the smaller bodies of water. Everything we learn go with us to try at another place. Try Panther Martin spinflys silver- orange/yellow fly number 4 Mepps Anglia number 3 silver gray tail. Rapala orginal floater F7 in blue or black. Challenge yourself to see how many different presentations you can come up with each bait. Tip try slowing your presentations down. Let the bait go below the sight line. I thought my places were fished out too once. Then I started changing my baits and presentations. Try using a basic bass scent and a garlic bass scent. It's not confidence in our baits it's confidence in ourselves. You can do it. It's skill not luck. I don't like bass fishing when the places are crowded.
