  1. Wasn't the prettiest game, but the Pac is one game closer
  2. Ballad of Bill Thaxton-Marty Robbins
  3. All in all it sounds like you had great weekend vacation. Cool!
  4. I'm not sure what the ultimate advantage is, but for me the ultra soft is the one line with the least memory. I also think it is one of strongest lines I've fished. Someone else will be along with more specifics, but this is why I like it. BTW, nice fish in the avatar.
  5. Mike, I apologize if I came off as a jerk. Whether you care or not, I respect the fact that you care about proper english, and I respect your opinions. Your truthfullness and your wit has made me laugh more than you could know. Several times it's even made my day after having a bad one. I was only thinking that for a new user, they might feel debased and lose interest in a class A forum like this. I'll go lay by my dish now.
  6. For me, I first look at how many are in the boat. I don't tournament fish so I could have myself, two, or possibly three in the boat. Myself, anything but the kitchen sink. If there is two people, even if it's my boat, I'll bring what I think I'll get by with without impeding myself or the next person. If there's three in my boat, it's just for fun and I won't bring any more than 2 rods and a small tackle box. At this point it's just for fun. Life's do d**n short to be critical on an "everything else" forum on a fishing site, whether you start a post or reply to it.
  7. sounds like broken japanese!
  8. Just wait until the next time when he shows up with a biggun, and looking for sponsors! The pic with story is way to cool.
  9. Ditto on the nice fish. Awesome! Welcome to BR
  10. He's been one of my pet stories to keep an eye on. It was like watching a slow sinking ship and it finally went down. Like you said Andrew, the family gets to pay the reel price.
  11. Sorry Bass Tard, I like Knob Creek but still like my sour mash better. George Dickel is where it's at.
  12. Another vote for YoZuri ultra soft. I use 12 and 15 on my bait casters, and think it's about as durable as they come. Remember to be checking your line and knots frequently as you should, regardless of what you are gonna use.
  13. Ryan, you know what to do. GET ERRR DONE! Brian
  14. Northland Tackle "pro series" reed runners
  15. Don't ya just hate anticipation? ;D
  16. That's a great looking ride you have there! Job well done. 8-)
  17. BR, I like that idea with the ear plug. Never thought of something like that. 8-)
  18. TT, I like that map. That water is like the garden of Eden. That has got to be some sweet fishing. It holds everything you need for any approach you want to use anytime. Can't beat that.
  19. That pic reminds me of a Jim Croce phrase, "you don't tug on superman's cape". I honestly don't know. Is that why lmb are called slobs, pigs, hogs and so forth? Because they are not affraid of overmatching themselves?
  20. Big-O, really cool story. My new short story favorite. Toolpush, hang in there. I hope you get the oppurtunity to work things out.
  21. That's one way to break the new boat in.
  22. Can't speak to the rick clunn, but muddy's extreme seems to be a tried and true reel. Maybe want to take a closer look at it. Check the reel out on ebay also. jmo http://cgi.ebay.com/bass-pro-shops-etx05ha-baitcasting-fishing-reel-6-3-1_W0QQitemZ170249988307QQihZ007QQcategoryZ108153QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247

    Congratulations! 8-)
  24. Thanks for sharing Catt. Another one for the favorites button.
  25. I have a couple. And if you read many posts on these reels, it seem that the factory lube job is the main issue with them. What I've found by reading the different opinions, is that it is best to open 'em up at new and relube them yourself and to make sure that you use the same hot sauce oil and grease that was used initially, or even better, clean all the hot sauce out of them (including the bearings), and doing the job with Abu Garcia lubricants. However it's done, don't mix the brand of lubricants! The property differences in lubes mean they don't play well with each other. This part, I believe, is explained somewhere by ReelMechanic.
