  1. I realize most everthing about this situation could be resolved if hindsight were a part of the equasion. But it's not. No matter what Brett or the Packers have done, I hope that it can be worked out amicably
  2. I dont think the 20 mil was a guilt trip. They were hoping he would take it, but only to put an end to the standoff. He had no ultimatums last spring, they just asked for his decision as early as possible. Retiring was not his only recourse, he could have sat on it awhile. That was his choice. Not theres. He didn't take the money and that left them with only two more choices, one of which they didn't want as an option. So here he is. Don't get me wrong, as a starter, I am not hoping he tanks. I just think the whole scenario is bull and I think he dumped on Rodgers.
  3. Hey grampa, is this your first? Congradulations! Been following your rod saga. I hope your new ones served you well over the weekend with your son.
  4. Ran with RW's suggestion this morning, but had no hits. Was ready to go back to the shallows with the spinner bait, but decided to run the gamut one more time, only throwing cranks. Wow, I found them. And twice the size I was used to. Normally catch 2-3 lbers, but I immediately was catching them at 4lbs right were RW said they should be. Why nothing with the plastics? I had 10-15 ft of water, no current, sand and rock bottom, and was carolina rigged with trick sticks. Should I have maybe been rigged differently?
  5. They asked him for a decision asap. I'm not sure if that was unreasonable or not but Greenbay needed to get a handle on where they were going. I don't think Favre was forced. He my have felt pressured, but ultimately, they had to wait on him. He's changed his mind, and were stuck. That 20 mil wasn't a viable option and everyone new it. He needs that like he needs another award. I'm thinking Rodgers feels like the rugs been pulled from under him, and has lost a little confidence with himself. That's great timing. I realize that the NFL is business, but on a personnal level Brett has lost alot of respect that he's earned.
  6. Yeah, it's too bad. We had another football legacy, and now what. Had a career unlike any other could have and he flushed the dignity of it right down the pooper.
  7. No line twists, better casting accuracy, and I feel that I have better control when "fish on". Besides that, I have more patience getting a backlash out than I do when I end up with my line all tangled up on a spinning reel.
  8. If you did this this one, take some time and do another. Looks petty darn good. Let's see some more of that artist in ya!
  9. What I get a kick out of is that this all becomes an issue and action is taken, when the horses are out and then the gates closed. I don't know about anywhere else, but in WI if you want a landline home phone, they need to have your ssn. Why? Go anywhere to do business and the first thing you get asked, in front of other customers, is for your social security number. I thought the ssn was supposed to be for social security. There's no "security" left in social security.
  10. I'm a fan of all music, and 50's-70's country is my favorite, but you know what you get when you play a country songs backwards? You get you money back, you get your truck back, you get your wife back..........
  11. I use ultra soft on my baitcasters, and have no problem. For my crankin rods I use a medium or moderate action. Hook set isn't as harsh.
  12. I higher power does exist. Every one of us at some time or some where has felt it. Like nitroman said, cool story.
  13. Great truths about growing old no. 3 I gotta remember that one. I love it!
  14. Wow, that's hot. I don't know how you'd be able to do anything but stay inside when it's that hot.
  15. That's no lie Joshua. Last week fishing the shallows, I came accross a few large mouth schooled up, and I swear they were grilling out and I think 2 of them were evan wearing cheesehead hats! No kidding.
  16. Hey Mike. Can't do much for you over there, but if your ever in the Mosinee-Marshfield area I might be able to help. There is a couple here from the Bay area. Give them awhile, they should find you. Goodluck! shkyhnds-Ended up with some of the Cavitron buzz baits awhile back. Doing good with them on early morning runs.
  17. All 3 pumps mentioned are excellent choices. The Remington is tried and true, the Mossberg is also, except that unless they changed it, has a single slide bar. The Benelli Nova doesn't have any more or less functioning problems than others, plus it's smart looking. If you decide to with any of the 3 that are chambered for the 3 1/2" mag, the Mossberg 835 is probably a bit more bulky.
  18. Revo sx, and waiting for the Curado e
  19. Never seen that on Deadliest Catch!
  20. Pretty funny. Years ago I walked into a local dept. store with my cousin and we picked up a tail, store security, before we were all the way in. We got far enough ahead of him that we were able to switch back and follow him while he was looking for us. We followed him with that puzzled look on his face for about 5 minutes. That was fun.
  21. I realize it's no consolation, but atleast it didn't break on that "critical" fish. It sounds like you had fun boating a few though.
  22. A couple of months ago I questioned a member on buying a carrot stick, and was told that their were "other choices" out there. One being the avid. I weighed on it and bought the avid mhf. Last week I recieved the carrot stick. Fished the carrot as hard as I could the last few days and can't find anything I don't like. Cosmetically, it's fine by me. Sesitive. I think very. And I like the open ended hook keeper that some don't. When I am not fishing it, I can tie a loop in my line and just slide it on the keeper. That being said, I am glad I took RW's initial advice and went with the avid early on. While I think the carrot is a great rod, for me, the avid blows it away in castability, and sensitivety. Thanks for the sound and blunt advice RoadWarrior. ff15
