  1. That's sweet! A guy from work and I were just talkng Thursday about the news. Now days it has to be about murder, gangs, robbery, whitecollar crime, whatever. It seems most of the time the media forget the good stuff to spread the word about. That's the type of news, I believe, most of us would rather see and read about. Kids need that kind of constructive activity in their lives. And kudos to the "big kids" for making it happen.
  2. I guess using your initials don't sound good :-?, so I'll just say welcome!
  3. Whasssup MF!
  4. Nice job Red! Good looking fish. We hit the water this morning with rain looming, and started casting the chartruesse(?), and white with red blades. It was like fish in a barrel. 8-)
  5. Did well the 1st time out with the Cavitrons. "fish on" on the 3rd cast. Here's one of my nephew's. Great bait.
  6. Central Wisconsin, Brrrrrrrrrrrr!
  7. I have Daiwas, abus, and quantum energies. They all have their place, and I can't say bad about any of them. But, if I had to chose one brand I would have to stay with my abu s and sx.
  8. The dial on the left is for retarding the spool at the end of a cast. Set your spool as you normally would and then set the one on the left at 5. Short cast a few times and see where you are and adjust accordingly. If you turn it all the way to 0, at the end of the cast the spool is gonna keep going and your gonna have major backlash. If you start at 5 you'll be able to manage until you find your grove. Not the most technical answer, but it should work until someone else adds to it. BTW, I have both and I think once you have used the reel, you'll find that your'e gonna love 'em both.
  9. Northland pro series reed runners. 3/8 with #5 gold colorado
  10. Palm it. 3 fingers forward of the trigger on bc.
  11. Nice fish guys! From the look of the pics, I would bet you don't have much fun when your with your buds. ;D
  12. Sweet! Nice job.
  13. I'm not exaclty sure. Was visiting my brother up there by Luck/Fredrick area. It's west/southsest of Fredrick. We put in on the St. Croix for the afternoon last Saturday. First time and it was awesome.
  14. Eleven and losing a $30 swim bait. I can see where that would smart. That's the aches and pains of fishing. Chalk it up to a learning experiance, buy another, and go get some revenge!!
  15. Ben, if you want to stay in the 35-40 dollar range, I would suggest also the bionix, along with the lightning rod by berkley. If you have a local fleetfarm (farm&fleet), check for the shakespeare agility. If you are looking to stay reasonable on your wallet for a reel, look at the Quantum Array. I believe it comes in 3 different models. Bought my nephew one, nice reel for money. As far as line, I won't get ito it much, but I use P-line cx and cxx, and yozuri copolymers. Also, check out PowerPro for your braid. Good luck!
  16. That is a great set of fish you have there!!
  17. What I don't get, is how someone runs over their rods before a tournament and then fishes them. I would have thought that one way or another he would have replaced them. Did he really feel that they were o.k., or was he just to embarrassed to say anything? Too bad though.
  18. Nice action shot Sparse!
  19. What color did you get. I bought 3 couple of days ago. b/r, char/r, and w/r. Was hoping to try them out yesteday but had problems and couldn't. Post how you do with them over a few days would ya?
  20. Drove an hour to the lake today. launched, and within 2 minutes realized I was taking on alot of water. Found a 1/4X3/4 in puncture in bow.?? Would have given anything for that white duct tape. Now that I think of it, I could have shoved a stick in there to get by today instead of pulling out. I guess I need to think outside the box more! Silly or not, it shows conviction.
  21. I think what you have there is a good ratio. That's about what I was using until I went to low pros. The slowest retrieve I have now is 6.2:1,I just slow my retrieve down abit when I'm crankin'.
  22. 15 baitcasters 4 spinning reels 1 flyrod (unused)
  23. gravyfor3, you ever fish Nevers Landing?
