  1. From the look on his face and they way he's holding that fish and pole, I'd say you have a hard core fisherman on your hands.
  2. Nice fish!! Bassin Blvd, just tilt your head.........
  3. Glad you had a great day. Just hope that it wasn't so good that you end up dissappointed if it's not as good when you return. Good job! p.s. Up here in WI, I'm still waiting for water temp to raise a bit. Cool weather just don't want to let go.
  4. Great group of guys (and gals). Welcome!!
  5. Any beer as long as it's not Minnesota 3.2 beer. Oh, and Blatz or Old Millwaukee for simmering brats. Hooked_On_Bass, in Canada it used to be LaBotts Blue, much to the laughter and finger pointing of the locals. LOL
  6. They're lucky someone wasn't standing by ready to toss a crank bait!
  7. Daiwa, Fish with what ever YOUR happy with. Don't matter what others fish with. What does matter on a forum like this, which is for learning and a little socializing, is to take everyones feedback and digest it. I have found that alot of times the opinions and advice of others that I don't agree with some times open me up to new ideas and ways of thinking. You like your Daiwa Shock and that's cool. I wish you the best of luck with it. Hopefully your pb! Brian
  8. Not sure exactly what you want, but I just picked up a 89 16' smokercraft w/50 hp merc and alot of buttons and whistles, in really good shape for a little over $2000.00. Like was said previously, check out Craig's List on internet. I was alot of nice boats on the while I was looking. 3-4 thousand. Good Luck!
  9. Ditto on tkite16. Had the same thing happen to me, but it sounds like yours was alot worse. My only guess was a short.
  10. Daiwa, I just went and took the test. I'm 41 and I think you would be a better skipper on my boat. I need to sharpen up alittle.
  11. Congradulations Daiwa!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Branuss04 posted his fishing outing with grandma. That was great. Yours reminds me of when I use to go with my dad. He was an avid muskey fisherman who passed away 10 yrs ago, and as I get older I wish I would have gotten on the water more with him. There's nothing like fishing with dad. Them are some of the times you never forget. Awesome story.
  13. Check the width again. Measure up by the front bench seat. Looks to be more than 3ft. I'm thinking that it may be a little tippy when you add the deck because of the higher center of gravity that you will end up with. Not knocking your boat, just the way I see it. Put it in the water the way it is and (carefully) stand up and move around, see what you think. That should give you some idea. If you do deck it use marine grade plywood or ground contact plywood, and amarine grade outdoor carpet. Not much, but all I got. And welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!
  14. Recarpeted my pontoon last summer. Searched everywhere for best price. BPS turned out to have the best deal. 8'x20' was 160.00 shipping included. Granted, it was their lightest stuff, but it went down well. Also, be certain that you use the right glue for your project. Just my 2 cents. Illiniosbasser mentioned using high grade staples. I used ss staples on my perimeter.
  15. That's cool! Most people wouldln't have that kind of time until it's too late.
  16. Good chance that it was a "mouse on a motorcycle"!
  17. Your gonna love that Revo. That thing is gonna do alot of work for ya! Good luck.
  18. Just thnk how pumped he was to tell his buds that he fished with the guy that started the club!
  19. Wish I could find 1 bass like that in Wisconsin. I'm in lust with most all the hawgs I see posted here!! Awesome.
  20. Hey Steve!
  21. Hey new guy from florida. Good group of gurus here! Just got here too. Welcome.
  22. HOOKED ON BASS, I remember you given me a welcome on my 1st post a few days ago. Thanks again!
  23. Just "enlisted" with bass resource. From Stratford, near Wausau. We got a post office! Cranks, spinners, and soon to see what these senkos are all about. DO mostly musky, but want to get better at bassin.
  24. 24/7 fire, ems, emergency gov. Full time job is cabinet setter and plumber. Thanks for the welcome!
  25. Made a quick post the other day, but didn't really into myself. Wanted to tell you guys I have been reading all winter and have learned alot from everyone. I have to agree with some other new users. Coming here is almost like having every one sitting in my livingroom at turkey time. Just plain comfortable. Wading through the b.s. is just as fun as learning as much as I have. Regards, firefightn15
