  1. There is also a post in fishing trips by one of our members that went overboard after hitting a bridge pylon. He got lucky.
  2. You got it Stacy, sorry for the families loss. If you remember, a while back we talked in a pm. I do believe you will find the right words to aid in comfort. Bless the family and little girl. Brian
  3. I would have gotten Jimzee on 4 but I had to use spellcheck. :-[
  4. Jimzee, your quicker on the trigger!
  5. 4. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow.?
  6. Where did you find the drift wood? Is that boughten or something you found? Looks cool.
  7. I love it! ;D
  8. I'm sure there's plenty of ideas out there are far as what you could or should use, but for me #30 power pro had worked great, and I've never felt the need to go larger. I can't remember, but I believe the #30 pp has the dia. of #8 mono. Good luck-ff15
  9. Chris, I picked one up a couple of months ago specifically for cranks. Have not really fished it yet, but was able to make a few casts before the water up here got hard. I was casting it paired with a 7' mhm avid, and it did super with 3/8oz. Was very satisfied with how well it did. Micro, I believe, said that it wasn't so hot with 1/4oz. Hope this helps. As far as a shallow spool option, Micros the man, but I don't believe so.
  10. Personally I use a 6'9 parabolic carrot stix and a 7' mm St Croix avid. Set the hook firmly, but don't be rippin' the fishes lips off. I'm sure others will explain it better that I, but you want a rod that is a bit forgiving during the hook sets with crankbaits. Here's a link that describes power and action which I saved. Hope it helps: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546
  11. Sounds llike a great day, I am sure your dad had a blast.
  12. Had another member and his son go in a while ago. Rondef will attest to the use of PFDs. Glad your ok.
  13. Welcome to the forum. Check out this thread, it may help you decide on a reel. I am more into baitcasters but have a few spinning reels and am looking for another myself by spring. I'm looking at the Shimano symetre or stradic, but this thread may give you a heads up in what you may like. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1177888101 Won't comment on the rod other than to say you probably would want to go with a 7' mm or mh. To many out there to choose from. Read some of the threads in this forum and you'll get a few ideas. There will be several along with some good advice to help with rod choice. You should be able to come up with a nice combo for $175-250 easily. Good luck-ff15
  14. Cravin, enjoy! Agree with Maxximus Redneckus, try a green trilene xl RW, hope your bud don't mind, but I may borrow that motto for a spell.

  20. What's RW's trademark epitaph, Good nite Irene! ;D
  21. Ya, what you said Sam.
  22. Can't hardly wait. Either Packers are the only ones to get beat by Detroit or Detroit goes 0-16. Whichever, someone is getting hung with an embarrassing shingle. :-[
