  1. I personally would live in Colorado Springs in a heartbeat....not the greatest state in the world for Bass fishing but I sure love the area and having lived in NM for so many years am a big fan of those high altitude cold water lakes and streams in northern NM and southern Co.....definitely more of a trout kind of place, but absolutely freakin' beautiful all year round (if you like all of the seasons)...my $.02 Plus Lake Powell ain't too far away...by western standards...
  2. Yeah, that pretty much clinches it...no way to rationalize it without too many things being misconstrued...I think that hat is sweet, but I will never be a cowboys fan.... > I'll stick with the old Joe Gibbs goofy cursive R hat..... ;D :-[
  3. Oh..Wait...Duke has a football team? Umm maybe you didn't read the part about being born in Va.....definitely NOT a Duke fan... ;D
  4. I've ridden street bikes since I was 15, started riding dirt just a few years ago; I have raced "crotch rockets" or whatever you want to call them, ridden on the street in multiple states, rebuilt them, and even worked in a few shops... For someone your size and apparent demeanor (as well as your state) I would recommend a Sport Touring style... specifically a VFR (V4) or TL1000....V twin with usable torque, even BMW (flat twin) and if you got the $$ Ducati. V or flat twins are hands down more useable and comfortable to ride on the street since you don't have to constantly change gears to stay in your usable powerband....plus the sport touring bikes will give you more otptions for comfort in dealing with your height and leg length. Think of it in terms of dirtbikes, since you ride those....2 strokes are alot of fun but you gotta wind 'em up and constantly be shifting up or down to stay in the power band; whereas with the newer 4 strokes you can stay in 2nd and putt around or really get it if you need to....
  5. The cowboys hat is by far the coolest looking of the 3.....
  6. That's the really funny part; I was born in Northern Va.!! and My Dad wasn't a transplant, he was native! I think he musta had some pretty thick skin...
  7. I am surely gonna get flamed on this one; but it seemed like a good topic to put out there for opinion and guidance. Background- I am an avid sportsfan and a huge football fan; even more enthusiastically a massive Redskins Fan. To add to this, my first name is Dallas, which was given to me by my dear old Dad who passed away when I was just a wee lad, but apparently named me after HIS favorite football team....guess. So is it completely wrong that I REALLY want one of those new Dallas Cowboys ball caps like Romo wears? Awesome color of blue with the single capital D on it ? Blue is my favorite color..... Let the Flaming begin.....
  8. Swap the colors; but use a nice deep forest green. I know some people don't like white decks though.... but you could do black accents to really set it off, like on the console, etc...my $.02 Great job on the trailer and wheels BTW!
  9. I remember having the same lament on a different thread a few days ago about spinnerbaits.... Odd as it is, I can catch fish fairly often and easily with crankbaits (I LOVE shallow runners) and have yet to catch a single fish on Spinners...but I guess since they are similarly attractive I suppose maybe I will just stick with crankbaits I know this is not much help but I wanted to empathize from a similar point of view, just a different lure type My best crankbait and technique is a Rebel Wee-Crawfish....which I usually do a moderate to slow crank with pauses, intermittently dispersed with long rod draws and pauses...if that makes any sense....its got a great pulsating action that is really easy to feel...if I burn this really fast it makes the pickerel crazy -which is fun when the bass aren't hitting : Oh yeah, I missed the original post on your promotion... Good on Ya! ;D -from an old salty sailor
  10. I have to go with kikstand and simp on this one... Mark Zona- friggin' hilarious...man bear pig.......singin to fish, about fish and everything else...it's like the guy is on a constant sugar/caffeine high...but in a good way... The tournament episode with KVD and Shaw for the Fla-Mich cup cracked me up.... I want his job...
  11. You just have to break it down by the number of cats. Start with each backpack. : oh yeah, and the tricky part.....don't forget the girls have legs too!
  12. Well since it''s my money I will keep "wasting" it on the L&L; this stuff does exactly what it says it will-- which is exactly what I want it to do.
  13. Oh Yeah! I have been using Yum Craw Papi's for a while which are very similar to these. Actually got my biggest hit of the season (6.5 LMB) with one of these T-rigged all by it's lonesome...I love them for jig trailers too! ;D
  14. You sure don't fish them much , do you ? Hence the "remedial training" comment....I must not know what I am doing with them....
  15. I think I need remedial training or something I have Strike King and Booyahs and some generic this and that..... I have in my time caught some great fish on jigs, crank baits, jerk baits, and the multitude of soft plastics.... I have to confess... I have NEVER caught a fish of any kind on spinner bait :-?
  16. I have been messing around with these for a while and had zero luck until recently trying to keep them from doing barrel rolls through the water. 2 weeks ago I tried to remedy this with Gamakatsu weighted superline EWG hooks; Bingo! did the trick! keeps 'em belly down and I can modify the action with the rod and reel as I see fit. I have gotten a number of LMB in and around lily pads now that I finally got it figured out....
  17. I'm pretty sure that the smallie that spit my hook at the boat would have been a PB for smallies >...the more I think about him, the bigger he gets ;D
  18. These are Dave's Biggest and smallest for the day....not too shabby, we caught a total of 6 keepers; 5 for Dave, one for me , and my 2 smallest bass contenders!
  19. Well, I had a blast and i think Dave had fun as well especially when he decided to turn our fishing trip into a swimming trip... ;D ;D ;D I dunno...he said something about catching his limit no matter what it took and the next thing I know, he's overboard...oh well...It must have been some kind of special ritual cuz he ended up getting 5 fish without my help... SO ...that being said, y'all might want to start spying on this guy to figure out what his secret is : So, on to the pics! I will personally escort everyone and anyone who wants to go, to the spot I caught this monster...he outweighed my first catch of the morning by good 2.5- 3 ...ounces...yes I am serious
  20. Nice! hmmmmm....wonder if my wife would get mad if I make that my new computer wallpaper.... ;D:D
  21. Glad you guys are both safe. ....If I were you and had that dollar value of gear on that silty bottom, I would just leave it and let the divers do the work...It's gonna cost a hundred bucks- but you may bury or scatter some of the gear by dragging the bottom...making it less likely they will find all or most of your gear... 2 cents...

Big fan of both! I always have a bottle of SBR on hand and when I lived in ABQ, i used to always use Bone Suckin' Sauce as a finishing sauce for my ribs! Haven't done ribs since we have lived up here though; I sure miss my old butcher shop that always had fine New Mexico beef on hand.... :-/ NE has alot of great things but I sure miss living outside of "cattle country" sometimes
  23. oooo! do any of those chicks have boats? : That puts bad thoughts in my head...mmmm...chicks with fishin' boats....
  24. You can reduce or eliminate the "earthy" or pond taste from fresh water fish by soaking fillets overnight in milk in the refrigerator....some people use buttermilk for catfish.... sounds weird but it works...supposedly in addition to removing the earthiness it helps to leech out some of the impurities and heavy metal traces....but that part could be urban legend...
