no no i didnt catch a monster fish. but i just put my call into get my replica made up of my pb. 7lb 2ozi was debating for a while where to get it done and so forth and should i wait untill i catch an 8lber up here. but ny is tougher for catching those big guys so i finally broke down. i went through www.4greatfish.com anyone have any work done by thses guys. the main guy seemed real nice and we talked about the habitat and everything else. i should get it around xmas which would be a AWESOME XMAS GIFT ON THE WALL!!!!!!! haha just had to tell someone ;D

ya i think i like that site the best. the skin mounts and replicas are hard to tell apart. i think thats what is going to be a deciding factor for me when i get my mount done. there my number one pick so far. i dont mind spending an extra few bucks for something as important to me as this is. ;D

caught my pb the 1st time on a zoom super fluke jr and then the second time i caught it it was on a senko watermellon red flake. ya caught the same fish twice and it was the biggest fish i caught . original was 3 lbs. now to 7

hey im thinkin of gettin my mount next summer but i dont think i just wanna get the mount on the wall i think id like to add some structure around around it like a habitat. anyone got some pics of their mounts with a habitat scene just curious? thanks travis

k i think i may just go to dicks and rig one up there to get the exact hook! and buy some more tackle of course

i bought two different tubes. one is a 3 inch yum where its watermellon and neon yellow. and the other tube is one of the strike kings bleeding red watermelon red flake. what size hooks for these two different size tubes. all help would be awesome~! i like to run a texas rig style and how do i use texas rigs with the weight system! thans trav

any special hooks or tubes from certain companies that u liked and inch wise?

what kinda tubes do u guys recommend. not sure on the average size smallie up there. im sure its not too too big. and im thinking of getting some tubes in craw fish color. what kinda hooks do u guys use with em?

hey guys im new to smallie fishing. im going up to schroon lake in a few weeks for a week and figure im gonna throw some live crawfish and maybe some super fluke jrs in basic minnow color. any suggestions and do the smallies like rocks more than weeds or it doesnt matter. i was under the assumption they liked the rock ledges cause of the crawfish. any help would be awesome. i htink im set but i could always use some more tackle! and i might night fish one night if i feel comfortable enough

ya im giving schroon lake a shot july 7th to the 11th. hopefully the bite will be on there. not sure if they got the lilly pads going yet but im sure the bite will be good if i can find those fish. live crawfish should work well im thinking. have used any thing else for smallies. maybe a super fluke jr would work well. any color advisories

anyone have some tips for fishing schroon lake in ny. going there with a few buddies hoping to hit some smallies checked out the map just not sure where to go to save some time! help would be awesome thanks. catch and release. gettm bigger and fatter!

ok here are the guesses of the fish to the ounce!!!! fish by weight picture 2. 5.3 lbs picture 1. 4.9 lbs picture 3. 4.8 lbs picture 4. 4.4 lbs its either this. or its a trick question and they all way the same weight and number 3 could be the biggest!

id say 4-4.5 nice FISH!!!

id say around 4.5lbs from the pic. scales dont always work. i caught a 21.5 incher that was 7lbs. dont have too much faith in the "calculations" only a sclae and a measuring tape ;D

heading up to schroon lake to do some fishing and camping with a few buddies. not sure where on the lake ill be fishing ever fish it before? looked at the topo and im just guessing around 20 foot dropp offs for the smallies and maybe finding some rock bottom cause i heard there are some weeds any tips?

thanks guys. appreciate as always all the input. my fish was short of the nys record of 11lbs 4 oz by 4 lbs. i couldnt imagine A. Catching a fish that big as a largemouth. and B. catching a fish that old considering the growth rate of a northern strain!!!. fish must of been 18 years old ahha or something Trav ;D

thats pretty interesting. and i guess the fish was around 12 to 13 years old for up here in the northeast based on its size. goes to show you why catch and release is so important!!!!. ud have to wait another decade to catch a fish this size that was born this spawn!.

what line is better for a spinning outfit or does it not matter. elite versus supreme. saw both today and had no idea which won is better or why. any advice besides buying both and finding out the good ole hard way haha. > ;D

i caught a fish early this spring and had a fat belly. picture one. but no scale. then i caught the saaaaaaame fish today on fathers day.picture 2. im 100% that this fish is the same by markings and a bacteria infection on one of its fins. weighed it out today at 6lbs. 7 oz. didnt have the belly it did before and in the first pic you can see that its stomach is stretched out by the scales in the first pic so i was just wondering how much more do you think fish weighed in pic one. how much do fish of this size usually gain during the spawn. its a female obviously and for a 6.5 lb fish:P just curious here are the pics just for fun. and senkos rule ;D spawn full belly post spawn
