Thanks guys, Lunch it is. I never thought about it being in the center of the color spectrum and that may have something to do with the success of the color. Visibility and fitting the food profile is what it is all about and chartruse really fits. Thanks again for your input - Kevin

We all know to use chartruse when in stained or muddy water or on overcast days but what do the bass see? I have heard they see it as a brighter white instead of the yellow. Very few baitfish are chartruse so ---why does it work so well at times and what does chartruse look like to a bass?

There have been some excellent answers. I agree with RW---eat less liver and onions!!! Also eat less and fish more works for me. My #1 resolution fom today forward is to spend more time with my parents while they are still vibrant and healthy. It is too easy to be busy and not take the time. I am taking my dad to Canada this June on the smallie trip. He went 4 years ago and I can tell alot of difference in his "age" in this few years. Happy New Year To All My BR Friends!!! 8-)

Garlic is not a fish attracting scent but a cover scent. There is no evidence that garlic, anise, or salt will attract fish. It may cover a bad scent which will help your catch rates. It needs to be a water soluable product to get the dispersion needed and you will need to apply about every 10 min. I have never read where any study indicated increased strike rates with scents but instead it is useful for increased lure hold times when you do get a strike. It does help trick a bass into holding onto the lure hopefully long enough to set the hook. God luck and happy hooking! 8-)

I agree Matt, the executives at ESPN need to get out in the real world to see what programming is watched. Bass Saturday was great when it first came out, now I am tired of watching those two dudes hog catfish every Saturday morning. Show me someone else catching fish or teach me how to be a better angler. I think I will send this email to ESPN. Oh yeah--it would be a bad day if I was as unprepared for my job as that dude on the bowl game.

Santa said I have been a very good boy this year and I will be getting a Shimano Calais but he (she) does not know which model. I am assuming the 200 APV with the 5.0 gear ratio. I will never have it in salt water so I know I don't need the ASV model but that is about all I know. What is the 100 model? Any help would be appreciated. 8-)

The guides there only use artificials so when someone catches a monster on live bait--it makes them look less necessary. Water dogs are VERY expensive ($4 apiece) but they will catch lots of flathead catfish and some nice bass too.

My point is the succesful angler should not be determined by his budget and how many good electronics he has. To me it seems like electronics are taking a lot of fun out of finding your bass, not the bass coming to you. I mean think about it, how much skill can you possibly have if electronics are taking skill out of the picture.

hmmmmm- how about both---- Make 100K and then you could fish when and where you want--yeah--thats the ticket 8-)

Jimmy, I would be honored to fish with you---ANY LAKE-- ANY TIME!!! You have been a great ambassador for the sport. I am about your age and I never had an edge to lose so now what??? Maybe you don't have the passion you once had, maybe you do, most of us a little longer in the tooth enjoy slowing down a bit and soaking up life instead of tackling it. I am an airline pilot and have lost some of my passion (hopefully not my edge) for flying and would rather enjoy family and friends on a beautiful lake. I understand tournaments are like work, someone tells you how, when to start, when to quit, where to go, and makes you pay to do it. Sounds like work to me. I had a replica mount of my 10 lb bass. They made it look EXACTLY like the photo. My vote is 100% replica as the skin mounts look good about 3 years-replica=forever.

Why are the Lucky Craft hardbaits worth twice as much as Rapalas, ect? I like to use high end equipment and can justify G.Loomis with sensitivity but do the Lucky Craft baits really catch that much better? Can someone tell me how to tell Santa why I need some Little Sammys in my stocking? Thanks 8-)

Some of the guys I work with will stare so strongly at a female that I am embarrassed to witness it. If they want to be civil and enjoy Gods creation well within reason that is one thing but quite another to seduce her with his eyes. Like all of us I see beautiful women and enjoy the beauty BUT I don't act like an NFL Football player after he makes a touchdown. 8-)

According to the book "Pure Fishing" nomal crawdads with pinchers attatched were used in a scientificlly controlled environment in the Berkley Labs to get a baseline. Then the pinchers (only) were removed, new fish were introduced and the strike rates almost doubled. New fish and the tails (only) removed with few changes from normal ,New fish, then heads (only)were removed with normal results. This is why tube jigs work so well. They closely resemble a pincherless crawdad. Look at the bait isles, you will find fewer baits with pinchers on them. I am a believer!!! Good luck. 8-)

You will find that some wind will make some chop on the water thereby causing light to diffract on the surface. This does four things which are; lessening the light penetration to the fish, obscuring the fishes vision above the surface, dislodging plankton starting the food chain, and making continuos surface noise so your noise is not as noticeable. The bottom line is it makes the bass feel more secure and feeding increases. As for wind direction; I do not believe it is the wind direction BUT the barometric pressure associated with the wind direction. A south or west wind NORMALLY is associated with stable weather (stable pressure) where as an east wind is normally associated with an approaching cold front (dropping pressure), when the front passes (rising pressure) the wind will come from the northwest, the wind calms, and the clouds will dissapear causing the toughest fishing conditions. The approaching cold front normally will cause the fish to get aggressive as the front gets close (fast pressure drop)and will slow as the front passes (pressure rises.) Deer do the same thing -- feed alot just before a storm. I my world, I just go fishing any time possible, I simply realize when the fishing normally will be slower and when it should be a bit faster action. Good Luck 8-)

I am not a fan of tattoos at all but your reasons are the most reasonable and understandable I have ever heard. The sad part is that I have never seen a tatto that has been around a few years (20) that is still where it was put. Butterflies get droopy wings.
