Good top-water for stripers
Yes, stripers are still around although not in the bays. Head out to the mouth of any large bay and look for the deep spots. Right now, we have a hole called the sphinx hole that has cows just sitting there as we speak. They are all but ready to head back to the Chesapeake, this is a major "staging point" I believe as the hole can be bone empty tomorrow. When that hole doesn't mark fish anymore, it's over. As for a topwater.. SPOOK!!! I just found a favorite called the Sporty Spook made by hand by a guy named Joe in California. The company name is Bodega Bay Lures and he should have them up for retail sale by the beginning of next year. These things get it done. I found out about them from Redlinerobert. Joe made Robert a specially painted series for is Peacock trip to Brazil. When I open my site, I will be asking Joe if he would like to sell through me. I was THAT impressed with the action on these things. I have also asked him if he will be making freshwater sizes and Yes, he will, with a different hook as well. The galv hooks are for salt plugs only. Can't wait to try a 4 or 5" one for the largies Also, when you are seeing rolling bass on top and they will njot hit the spooks, etc,..go just sub surface with a streamer fly (if possible) or a super fluke if no fly gear is available. Local trick that works as like a charm.

Fact from Fiction about Spray scents on Post below
Dirk blows his cigar smoke on his bait for good luck. How much you want to put into this depends on how much time we have to go in circles. He has been catching fish alongside me for 20 yrs now,....neither one of us does significantly better than the other. (and we even smoke different brands, lmao)

Buzzbait with ticker
Um,...Can you return a phone call???????? ;D : Stratosdadri was the first to throw the Hart clickers on my boat and he proceeded to hand my @$$ to me with it,lol. Persoanlly, I like the cavitron also, that chirp RW spoke of is like a drug to me as much as to the fish. Hearing it gets you excited because you know what comes next. This is the main reason I liked the J-bug this summer too,...that gurgle chirp,.....yummmy

Absolute Newbie to Bass fishing
Welcome Aboard! You are one of my favorite types of new members. A guy who is a blank slate, looking to learn so he can spend quality time with his/her kids. AWESOME! Sorry to hear about your wife but I bet she'd be happy to know you are striving to make life with the kids as complete and full as possible. Fishing sure can help. For now, there is plenty to read and learn up on. To keep the kids interested, you may want to look into using live bait at first, it tends to draw a little more action with little expertise needed. As you progress, hopefully with daughter still in tow, whooping dads butt now and then, you can move up to artificial baits. Now don't get me wrong, there are some artificials that are VERY easy and VERY productive. I can't wait to watch you guys progress through the levels, it really brings those of us back to our roots when we help someone like yourself move up through the stages. Good luck and we look forward to getting to know you better.

No packages today!!
Well, I thought it was about time I wrote a fishing report like everyone else instead of the whole video whooplah. Yesterday was a "light" day at UPS, the usual calm before the X-mas storm. A bunch of us got the day off including Matt5.0, Tin2win and Dirk. We left the house, sunny day, roughly 10:00. We put the boats in by 11 and it started pouring by 11:02,lol. Now, Dirk and I had it coverd with the usual bag full of North Face Gore-tex, the other team though......not so lucky. They toughed it out as long as possible and we ended up with a score of 12-3 LBH-8 Dirk-4 Matt 5.0-2 Tin2win-1 Now tin2win is usually the youngest guy at any of these fun type things and he's always the one that wins. What a nice change!! The funny thing is how the day before he was busting my chops, "c'mon, come out on the water, you got all that North Face stuff, what are you afraid of?" Hey Tin----Allll that North Face stuff,.....worked!! On a downer note, Mike took a header out of the back of Matt's truck after and landed flat on his back. Sounds like broken ribs, he's having a tough time fully inhaling from any position. Ribs. We'll see, he's going to the Dr. this morning. Good luck Tin So, no pics, no video, just a fun day on the lke with some of my good buds. Lots of fun!!

HOW TO MOUNT SWIVEL SEATS IN A JON BOAT
and it is compatible with the 7" black pedestal that wal mart carries if you wanted to get a lift off the seat to not ruin your knees. Same thing as the peds I use essentially but again, 4 holes, not 6.

Disheartening
Respectfully, I think there is... Be quicker to edit or delete inflamatory posts. There are a lot of us longer term members that get away with stuff that would surely be edited from a new member. (me included) Also, when editing or deleting- do so to the original post and the response. 99% of the time, you guys are all over it- once in a while, a snowball starts rolling. I just happen to be in the other 1% lately. ...lol We do our best man. I was thinking more along the lines of starting this thread,.....in hopes it would trigger a reaction for the adults here to step up and get along.

Zimbabwe Bass fisherman
welcome aboard Tatu! By "sportsman", do you mean a "guide". An angler/boat for hire? If so, let us know what lake you are interested in. The guides are listed by the lakes they specialize in. Idf I can make a suggestion, Tom Redington of lake Fork is a "sure thing" Great guy and a member here if you are interested. Otherwise, name a place and we'll get you a whole list with websites and phone numbers.

Fall Patterns for New England....?
It's the way this particular lake is. we haven't seen a topwater bite since the 3rd day after the moon. It sure isn't from a lack of throwing either. My D.O. meter is broken but this is what I always used it for. When the T/W bite would die in the fall, I would check and see if the lake had turned. If not, keep chuckin', if so,...don't bother, stay deep. I need to replace my meter, they are only like $50
