  1. That one was 711 but we get paid on the dressed weight. Dressed it was 530 lbs
  2. Agreed, especially with that kind of flex pattern. I'm real curious to see a Peacock on that thing.
  3. You should have told him to tell George Welcome you said "Hi" ;D (http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1192700662)
  4. Karma baby,...had they taken the time to help this kid instead of trying to swipe his feet out from under him........who knows what could have happened. What comes around goes around, they'll get theirs (or WON'T get theirs,lol,...next tourny hopefully) Tin2win dealt with this a lot and still does. It just fuels him to beat these people,...and he does! Nothing sweeter, trust me, it's an exact duplication of my skiing career. I was always the kid with the "chicken legs". Guess what,...."chicken legs" is in 1st place,....what's YOUR excuse?
  5. and definitely over $6/lb too!! Funny story. When they prep the fish for shipping, the head comes off. There are 2 loins that run up the neck into the head. These 2 loins, when taken from a decent fish usually rank as at least a grade B- so many captains will retrieve these from the head as they will just be thrown away. So we decided to take them one time, figuring I hate sushi but love tuna steaks so we will kabob the loins and grill them. OOps Sushi is sushi for a reason. This stuff is so full of oil that once they lit, they weren't going out. Looked like I was having a tire fire in the backyard. My neighbor actually came into the backyard to make sure the back of my garage wasn't on fire, lol. I'm talking about black, black smoke. Lesson learned.
  6. ??? No, I didn't airbrush away the 5 point harness seatbelts, they were completely removed so we could make the seats "heated" and install the messaging rollers in the back rest.. I mean,....this IS a Comanche... The middle bench seat is refrigerated and holds 2 Heineken Beer tender kegs, port and starboard. This is an option they offer in place of live wells. My only complaint is the 32" fishfiner/internet ready PC/loran plotter/cable TV/radar screen. Although very cool how it is motorized to unfold from the floor it is not very practical, room wise My FAVORITE option though,...I must say,...is the "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" button ;D
  7. This is the first pic in a series of 2. many of you have seen the one I have blown up on my wall at the house. Well, this pic was taken when my buddy dropped his mate off on my boat to help us get this one over the gunnel (we needed a 3rd person for this one). As he drifted off, he clicked 2 pics. For a long time, the first pic has been missing. FOUND IT!!!!
  8. Not at all, in the south, they use the same kind of shrimp that we pay $8/lb for in the super market, lol. Up here, we use grass shrimp for schoolie stripers in the spring.
  9. TOGS baby!!! Fat, ugly and yummy!! Green crabs are ALWAYS a good bet. What we do is we fill a small onion bag with them and smash them on the rocks a few times. Drop that down on a rockpile (lighthouses are great for these) and jiggle it every now and then for 10 minutes or so. Now drop down a livey and WHAM! Chum bag/chum pots are a huge benefit for catching Togs. Here in RI, we have the port of Providence where tankers come in to dispense their bounty and fill up[ again. The wall these boats dock against is over 100 ft deep but the Togs hug the wall for some weird reason. So,...mark them on your graph and make note of the depth they are at. Now slide that bag down the side of the wall to that depth and you'll be there for the rest of that tide, catching CONSTANTLY. So yea,...green crabs,...they're alright ;D *If having a difficult time finding the crabs, use clams. Prefferably the big chowder cannonball type. Smash these a little better as the insides are mostly muscle. (yes, black muscles work too, lol)
  10. What do you think? This also answers the "How big of a motor for a 14 ft jon" thread ;D
  11. I have such confidence in the Palomar though. First breakoff of the year. Never had trouble with breakoffs in my life. That's why I said it was just stupid and lazy because I never even tried to tie the Palomar on......until after I lost that fish. ;D That's all I can do is laugh. ;D THAT FISH WAS HUGE!!!! I'm going to be sick lol. Hopefully I can get him to bite again. I hear ya. Last year, if I didn't dump 8-10 fish over 5 lbs, I didn't dump one. It was just my year to be "that guy" Reading where RW constantly tell folks to re-tie and to inspect your line ....all that stuff has been pounded in to me from reading it all the time. Knots were good, line had integrity, sometimes crap happens. Of course a few were my own fault, letting them run so I could get the camera rolling, etc, I deserve to lose those but at least 1/2 of them,....No excuse.
  12. or practice the other knots before hand It's not a total failure though, at least you learned something from the experience.
  13. Low_Budget_Hooker replied to a post in a topic in Fishing Reports
SUCCESS!! Great report, sounds like you had a great time
  14. I agree with Sam. Kudos for thinking of the fish first but if you can invest in a better set of pliers, that hook will come right out. I HIGHLY recommend the Rapala pliers.
  15. Why don't they prefer them? Is it the non-instant anti reverse? I really like the trigger on mine now and am leaning towards getting another, just trying to see why they are not preferred. Exactly. You have 1/2 to 3/4 of a full rotation before you get any response. WAY too much.
  16. or if you have a friend with a server, upload it and post link. Higher quality
  17. Just don't break one in public. There is nothing worse than being caught snapping your carrot on the lake.
  18. I think he has some Calcutta's on his list of reels that are going on the trip. They are the wrong hand for anyone who knows what they are doing but he's got them just the same! ;D (The handles are on the wrong side )
  19. Nope, that was the price. I just looked back at the receipt drawer and I paid $173 for 2. Dirk also bought 2 They are group 31's
  20. If you line-x the floor, be sure to only go a few inches up the gunnel. No need to add to the sides and it does add a bit of weight. Good luck, let me know if you need some help.
  21. That's them and the $$ comes in when you have 10-20 different sponsors who's loos need to be converted. Converting 1 or 2 for a paintball team and then printing out the shirts in bulk certainly is cheaper but ordering 1 or 2 shirts, with all new artwork, can get pricey. If you look at the samples, you can see the other 2 we had done also. These were made for the 2 RI jrs and their director for the TBF world championships. One of the pics there shows Joel being interviewed by the local news
  22. After watching him fish in Caifornia, I beg to differ. Hey guys,....wanna see a funny picture of Robert? (Watch it redline! ;D )
  23. That is indeed some dirty water. Aren't the bass ponds in Rhode Island part of the sewer system for Connecticut? Wow,...with an arm you aren't willing to swing just yet,....those are some hard words! Don't make me send my sister to Fla..... Alan- Yea, RWP sure can be dirty but the only time I fish that place is the ice out fund raiser for our CAST event. (which I hope to see you at in '08? ) Tin2win knows that place better than anyone I know. He fishes it at least 30 times a year. He's your go to guy on this one. Maybe he could take you out one day. We will be there Saturday, the PVA (paralyzed Vets) tourny is there. I'm not fishing it but will be there to lend Stratosdadri a hand. (tin2wins dad) Stop by and introduce yourself, I'm sure you will pick up plenty of tips. Do you fish the polo pond?
