  1. Or you can get a REAL lady, like yours Avid, who accepts you for who you are. I think most women realize that you can fill a shelf in a tackle box for the price of a pair of (cheaper) shoes. If you add up the tackle box contents and the contents on the floor of her closet,...who is spending more $$??? Hmmmmm You're it.
  2. I know it's a joke but in all seriousness, you can read while walking on a tread mill
  3. Fish4$$- I (via ***) already have the plastics covered. Just paying it forward, Brent re-supplied me when my stuff got clipped. Correction,..re-over-supplied. Everything happens for a reason
  4. I owned a moped rental business back in the late 80's, Number 13 sounded JUST like that, lol (had a yz80 pipe on it) Same rip, minus appx 350 horsies, lol
  5. And just a note for those who do rinse their reels with the hose. Be sure to use a light spray, don't spray them like they are on fire. You don't want to force water into areas it shouldn't be.
  6. Yes, I know using diff metals is tough, especially with aluminum, i should have asked "can you get the angle iron in aluminum,....angle alum?,lol. I also know that not just any guy with a mig welder can jump in and fix it but Matt 5.0 is a former union welder and race car fabricator, he had all the right tools and knowledge to fix her up last year,...looks like I'll be owing him another favor this spring
  7. Nice accomplishment!!
  8. Jeremy- where do you fish out of? (Giants)
  9. That is an out of date link,..here ya go BAIT VIDEO
  10. Shoot , I'll buy you dinner anyway! (But my condition is that it is from a restaurant) (in Alabama)(In March of '08)( )
  11. ;D As funny as that is....i'll promise you he'll act like he don't remember doing that to you. He can "act" however he chooses, but at the end of the day, he'll "know" that every time he tried to cast towards structure, a red john boat kept motoring into his target water.
  12. I think the revival of the Chesapeake is a much greater factor in this equation. When I was a kid, I was told stories of how you could walk across the bay on stripers....... back in the day. My reality, however, was that if you saw 10 schoolies in a season, you were pretty lucky. (inshore-Narragansett Bay) Then, through my 20's, we started seeing the results of the conservation efforts and new slot limit down in the Chesapeake. Although it isn't what it used to be, we can now catch stripers to 50 lbs in the bay. Schoolies are as plentiful as Bluefish. Something that affects these and many migratory saltwater fish much more than air temps is the gulf stream temperatures. Now THAT one is a "hot" topic (pun )as global warming is believed by some and dismissed by others.
  13. Jose Wejebe is a great role model. I've met him twice and he remembered me 3 yrs after first meeting him, I was impressed. This guy found himself alone, in Fla at the age of 16. He worked the docks and eventually got his captains license after many yrs of mating. (shut it Muddy, lol) Look at him now. He is also involved with helping kids catch the fishing bug. This is one guy that never forgot where he came from and is about as down to Earth as they come.
  14. ok folks,....prayers for Elaine requested. ;D :-*
  15. I had the same thing in my left hand. Landed a 30 foot jump (skiing) and landed on hard pack and ice. When my left pole came down and planted, the jolt gave me 5 hairline fractures and 1 fully broken metacarpal. Luckily, these small bones are quick healers (compared to a femur, fibula, etc) Heal up bud. Good luck.
  16. A day you'll never forget I'm sure!! AWESOME!! Where are you fishing? My PB for yrs was from Lake Bomoseen (8.9lbs) ( I am a native R.I.'er) I used to live in Mendon (88-90) when I skied for US Freestyle and we would shoot to Bomossen on the weekends in the summer. One of our trainers kept a boat there. Vermont has a closed season for Bass to protect them during the spawn (when mine was caught-full of egg) This report is pure proof of the success of such a program. These guys are a good 3-4 hrs NORTH of me. We have not had 2 sixes in the boat in the same week nevermind the same day. I wish RI would learn from Vermont's fine example. Way to go guys.
  17. Your on a roll now dude! Another Jig fisherman is born.... 8-) mom- we've had temps hit the 30's and 40's at night up here but we are being blessed with 70 degrees during the day. No complaining from us northerners this yr!!
  18. Matt, glad you replied, gonna need the welder again for the "wheelie pontoon" 8-)
  19. Catt, you gave me a great idea. I had the bed liner on the bottom of my boat to reduce wear when we have to drag it (often). as many of you know, it failed. It still wore off on the "V" channels (pretty much the only place you need it because that is obviously the contact points) It is mainly the rear that gets dragged so I am thinking maybe I could have Matt5.0 weld on some 3 ft strips of angle iron on the rear "V" channels. Like Keel guards but of metal. I'll grind down the ends so they taper and won't creat more drag. Thoughts? Do they make angle iron out of stuff that doesn't rust?
  20. I love winter, can't help it
  21. Bucket- Don't lose all faith in the world, there are still good people out there,...like yourself Take comfort in knowing that what comes around goes around.
  22. You ain't no rookie no more, lol Congrats, great job!
  23. You ain't no rookie no more, lol Congrats, great job!
  24. My line for this situation ,...spoken in a very calm voice , is this "Is it really necessary,...considering this is a 14,000 acre lake, for you to sit on my lap? I mean, I know as a tax payer you have every right to anchor 10 feet from me in a spot I have been working for 2 hrs but there has to come a time when etiquette has to come into play., No?" If he gives you crap,...just pull up and leave. Find out which club he is in and be at the lake his next tourny is at. I'm sure he'll appreciate the close company for 8 hrs.
  25. wow,.....fishing for health reason, I love it!! What exactly is dystonia and how does it affect you? Is treatment painful?
