I personally couldn't come up with results to prove this, some say they have but I , personally, couldn't. They are softer, very true. As for catch rates, ours didn't change when we stopped paying $7 for 10. as far as I am concerned, it's a personal preference. It all depends on how much you like your money,lol. The 2 positives I have found with the yamamoto company are: The fat ika Yamamoto gives ALOT to kids groups, including CAST for kids foundation. Thanks GYCB
