  1. Can't assume it was a kid. Not these days,..like you said, how much crack can you get..... Actually, sounds like someone needed a ride. With all the other "good" stuff there, why take a $60 bike? And why not the wifes bike?
  2. Someone fill me in on the KU/senile situation please. PM is fine.
  3. Depends how many days you are fishing. Last yr I bought mine online. 5-day non-resident.
  4. Dang RW, the fish in my tank even flinched it read this, lol. In our clear water, a picture is worth a thousand words as far as boat noise goes.
  5. well, as a skier, I'll say that the lip of the leg on long johns in your ski boot can be very painful. When you are talking about a performance fit where hours are spent getting that thing as tight to your foot and calf as possible. The Hot chilis stirrup made a world of difference to us skiers. Eliminated that painful lip. silk,...well,...I just like silk, lol. Seriously though. Very warm, very thin, helps all clothing layered above it slide well also. No binding w/ silk. 34 degrees this morning. We just got the air that brought snow to some parts of the country earlier this week. Heading to the lake in 1/2 hr. Where's my silk, lol. Gonna need it today.
  6. It already is a media event, wait till you see the video I'm going to build from this rally! Seriously, I plan on spending a whole day just chasing people down so I have footage of as many as I can get,...on water.
  7. HOT CHILI'S !!! One of my old sponsors!! Can't thank the company enough for putting stirrrups on underwear for skiers!!! Makes a big difference in your boot. They also work well but for long johns, I prefer all silk.
  8. My friend in hIGH SCHOOLS MOM MADE EM LIKE THAT. PIGNOLI NUTS AND RAISINS. I thought they were awesome with raisins. You have to try it to get it, sounds odd but the flavors really work. Havn't had em like that since the 80's. That would be special for sure.
  9. The rest. is basically a burger/fries type thing. They offer a t-bone for $20. That is the high end. Rw- did you say ribs? lol j/k
  10. muddy, you could always freeze and ship to matt fly. We will put a jar out at serving, couple bucks each would pay for ingredients and shipping easily (and quite happily) Then we have Matts brisket another night.... we need to plan these meals to be served at certain day/time sharp. We messed that up last year and didn't get to fully appreciate Matt's brisket. I ain't makin' that mistake twice!
  11. If you are really cold, put the heat packs in a neck gaitor or scarf and heat the blood as it passes in the neck. Same theory as a cool towel on neck in summer but in reverse.
  12. I was just getting ready to PM you! That's a drag to hear but next year, hopefully your shoulder will be better prepared for the trip too. % days of nonstop casing may not be so good for you just yet anyway right? Sorry man, that's just a bummer. As to the laptop,.....almost forgot,.....somebody is still gonna have to run the shop and we'll all be down there, lol. I plan on having my laptop along for the ride just so I can constantly download the camera footage. Looks like I should bring the internet card too!! I have a feeling Glenn also has one that is now a permanent appendage, lol. I'm sure he's got some trick travel tools if I know him.
  13. They have a restaurant there so they prob wont encourage us to use the kitchen, lol
  14. I don't know Chris,..there's a saying..."for every drop dead beautiful chick, there is a guy somewhere who is sick of her s*$@." don't know any big female largemouth that we'd say that about. Stick to hunting the real trophies, lol!!
  15. I guess that's another great benefit to only fishing for Grandmama's, is that you can remember every one, in detail.
  16. remember that if you are getting a guide to do it in the beginning of the trip so you have that knowledge for the rest of the week. Hopefully we will be pooling our results with the guides with the other members. Also, If you get the guide for day 1, don't begin your boat rental till the day after. Save one days rental because you will be using the guides boat the first day. Glenn-What cost are you looking to split?
  17. sorels do the job more with Bulk, they are designed to tread through anything. What we are talking about can be as basic as a sneaker as long as it has gore-tex in it. My sneakers are North Face gore-tex as well as my winter boots. The under armor type shirt is also North Face but it is designed to keep you COOL instead of warm. It is No Faces answer to a long sleeved summer shirt for protection yet coolness. Called Coolmax I believe, they have thread made of actual silver to keep you cool and ceramic fiber as sweat retardant. Love those shirts, when air moves over the silver it creates a cold feeling like the difference in how much you feel the wind when your skin is wet. Very cool fabric, lol,no pun. The U.A. that you wear as long johns, I don't like. I like an air pocket between my skin and 1st layer.
  18. Fishermans cove marina is the 1st place we will fill. 5 rooms left so far. We are renting the whole place. 1-888-818-FORK Ask for Linda, tell her you are from BassResource
  19. YEEEEE-HAAAA!!! The Bass Bus rolls out of New Jersey and onward to the shores of FORK!! This trip couldn't roll out any better and this is only day 2!! There are members who havn't even seen this thread yet!!
  20. BD, the reason your foot gets cold after an hour or so is because the sweat that has accumulated on your sock is now cooling. A gore-tex shoe will wick that moisture away from the quality sock. The sock is only 1/2 of the problem. You are using a wicking sock but locking that moisture in when it's 1/2 way out already. A "breathable" shoe completes the process. As for weather gear, I use North Face, head to toe, exclusively.
  21. KU- I think he actually takes a deposit now but you don't have to pay the whole thing up front.
  22. Just spoke with Rick from Ricky's rentals. 7 bass boats in stock. 3 16 ft 40 hp 4 17 ft 40 hp same price, the 17's have larger fuel capacity and an added bow depth finder.
