  1. Here's where the word "tick" comes to mind Sometimes it's just a feel, a change in cadence feeling Sometimes it just feels like the line is made of lead all of a sudden (but subtly). "heavy line"
  2. definately a must up here unless you are pulling traps and using it constantly. Good link. http://bassresource.com/fishing/Winter_boat.html
  3. um,...for many,many, many reasons,lol
  4. We just booked Ritchie WHite for Lake Fork in March. The avg for Fork guides is $200 1/2 day and $300 full (full day is 10 hrs!) We did our research and Ritchie excels at taking accomplished anglers and putting them on trophies. Most guides have equipment for you to use if you need it. We are bringing our gear of course but our guide uses all Kistler rods so I'm going to double-up on my opportunity and give an LTA a try.
  5. Oh man, tell me about it, finally, someone to share the joy with! I have lots of great memories in that stadium and I'm glad there will now be many to follow! My buddy from Pepsi called and told me this morning, and he was all but jumping through the nextel at me,lol I'm about 20 mins away ;D
  6. I use 3m Hi-strength 90 spray adhesive on the "heavy" setting. Very important to spray each surface and let them kick up seperately for 1-2 minutes before joining. Stuff works great, no mess, I used this stuff also in car audio fabrication for carpeted or leathered surfaces like subwoofer boxes and doorpanels. Use a couple extra sweeps of spray over the "high traffic" areas like where you stand in the front.
  7. Welcome aboard JW, care to tell us a little about yourself?
  8. The old home of the New England Patriots, Sullivan Stadium, will be the new home of the latest Bass Pro Shops. WOOHOO!! ;D It is said that the layout is to be just a hair smaller than the Springfield Store.
  9. believe it or not, it really didn't hurt much. The weight impact part of the blow was worse than the hook, I thought I got hit in the head with a rock, really rang my bell. I've had hooks in my hands and one in my forearm that were screamers. Yea, I know, I gotta pay more attention :-X
  10. Pretty safe to say that a good lot of us have learned the hard way. I have x-rays of a rattletrap(full of BB's) stuck in the top of my skull thru my hat, went into bone, sharpening your own hooks isn't always a plus, lol.
  11. This is a great page. Scroll to string-yank technique. http://www.aafp.org/afp/20010601/2231.html If it's in and on it's way out (3/4 or more) I suggest to push it all the way through, crush bob or cut entire hok and back out the leftover piece. Then let your breath out and yelp like a stuck pig, hehe
  12. basser89- good point! I have a major one of those close to my house, you can see me fishing it in the movie "Somthing About Mary".
  13. nick, I hear ya buddy, we have some classic pics from years ago fishing in the snow, just plain good karma!
  14. What are some things we are doing to survive? Other than home base here, what's your plan?
  15. I'm confused, what's this about? What link?
  16. or what if you were using a spinner and caught a bluegill and then a 15 lb hog swallows the whole rig and you net her before she can spit it, never sank a hook in her,...still count? Matt- I think Texas is the pioneer in big bass management. Up here we don't have a long enough feeding season to even come close to states closer to the equator. That's your thing down there and you guys do it well.
  17. hey muddy, you forgot the exacto knife with no blade lol This is a great project to help with therapy for your disability. Very, very easy project, especially with a tool-qualified helper. Again, very simple, like arts n crafts for adults. Cutting, gluing, stapling. Easy. Good luck and I'm sure you'll be amazed at the difference in having flat, dry, carpeted floors. ;D
  18. still sleeping off the turkey, lol. Welcome back guys.
  19. When I bought mine, it had carpet all over the inside. What a mess. If I may suggest, make removable floors and carpet those. This also allows you to bring them in for the winter. Carpet also stays dry because it is held off the floor because the decks sit on the ribs. Hers the link to my boat again, and another link on just how to build the floors. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1119359773 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1123797400/9#9 Good luck, PM for any questions if needed.
  20. Her's my current one. http://bassresource.com/cgi-bin/bass_fish/YaBB.pl?board=boating_ID;action=display;num=1119359773;start=0#0 I have also done 2 twelves with full front decks (leaning post and footmount t/m) but not the rear, both boats just had a seat, 7" post and swivel for running the motor. I used these when I primarily fished alone back when i lived up north. These can only be done with a heavy gauge 12, not the light duty. Any questions, just PM me.
  21. papa, I was born the summer after you're graduation, I bet you got some good memories of Aug 67!
  22. I personally believe the fish hit the action and basic hue of a bait. Somthing splashing around the surface just need to be the right hue for the day, dark, bright, etc. I don't personally think the a super detailed lure like a LC makes THAT much difference. Doesn't hurt I'm sure but I think alot of times the fish would have hit it whether it were all black or dark lure with details. Just my low budget .02
  23. Check this out. Full instructions are icluded in posts further down. http://bassresource.com/cgi-bin/bass_fish/YaBB.pl?board=boating_ID;action=display;num=1119359773 This boat is trailered but the trailer doesnt go in the water . It is loaded/unloaded roadside and carried to water. 55lbs thrust on this boat and it's plenty floors are removable. Ultra-easy. Nice for cleaning and storage
