It's like this,........ I've been throwing a swimbait, MS Slammer, nonstop for about a month now. Last night I was playing with some experimental home made versions, testing, etc. The water flattened and the skies started to clear, no shot at a swimbait bite,.....so what now? I have only been fishing the conducive hours for swimbaiting,....night time and foul weather days, but here I am, faced with the old stuff,....normal weather,lol. So I pick up the "spare" rod I bring, the one Flechero made me. This is a relatively light rod, but not a true "lightweight" like a Steez, Croix, Helium, etc It IS now!! lol After throwing a huge wooden swimbait on a saltwater boat rod for a month, this thing almost floated out of my hand! I felt like I was holding some delicate surgical instrument all of a sudden. So, I guess what I am saying is,....is it all relevant? What would feel "light" to someone who only has top notch, lightweight gear? Once they are "used to" the weight of what they have,.....it becomes "the norm" instead of "light" I have no clue what my point is here,...just felt like typing,lol.

Redlinerobert sent me a crucial a week ago last Wednesday. It never came. This is the second rod they have ruined for me. Robert mailed me back a Spidershaft I had left there, it was a special gift for a good friend and when it got here, the tip was broken off. This rod is irreplaceable, they haven't sold them in 7 yrs > > > NOW,....Robert sends me a nice Shimano Crucial to use with these swimbaits and it didn't come broken, which would have been fine with the over the counter warranty,....no,....they don't even get the pieces to me,....they just kept this one. Niiiiice. Zero accountability to boot. Can't tell you how let down I am. I am way behind, money-wise, can't afford a rod to replace the saltwater boat rod I am using so this one goes up my butt sideways. So, if you work for the USPS and you decided to do your Xmas shopping at work......Thanks!

I heard that you cannot patent most fishing lures because they imitate wild life or something to that effect, anyone know the specifics? I'm asking because I would like to try making copies of the MS Slammer but do not want to get in trouble, or offend the original producers. I did a quick patent search by name and found nothing.

My short experience with them has all been in clear water. As usual,. Matt's answer perfectly depicts what I have been learning. Need chop and cloud cover. Rain is even better. Avid- Have you been throwing these big baits with that bad shoulder?????
