  1. Looking for something to throw these swimbaits with (8-10"), under $100
  2. A 7 or 9 inch pedestal will make that much more comfy on the sides of your legs. The 7 and 9 are still low so it will not be tippy
  3. Welcome Aboard!!
  4. If you plan to charge $$, you've become a "guide". There are many laws involved with being a guide from liability to licensing. Careful. If one kid gets hurt, you're in a world of poop.
  5. Yup, that'll work just fine. Welcome aboard!!
  6. Didn't expect to see this one here. :-?
  7. Matt- "world" They asked for his license, he handed them a credit card :
  8. jigging spoon, blade bait Welcome aboard!
  9. I just read "The Winner",...pretty good read. (easy/quick)
  10. schoolies are okay but the bigger ones, especially caught deep, don't offer as much as the other species they travel with (i.e. Blues, Bonita, false Albacore) I've never caught anything near as big as that one but a 30-40 lb fish gives about 5 or 6 good head shakes and then it's a "weight" battle, not a peeling drag battle. Fish in the 20's seem to be in their prime and offer a bit more but again,...if we are talking "sport" and not "commercial sales", I'd rather catch Bluefish or Tuna, all day long. Of course,....let's remember, I'm a guy that likes Pickerel and Pike too,lol
  11. depends on the demographic. For bass fishing,..it peaks on L/XL
  12. You missed the point Bri,...I got my "Shout out" the day you shipped off This is YOUR shout out
  13. Yea, I think it's more about how much time they have had to adjust. If they are residents, they should behave like any other LM, GOOD LUCK!!
  14. I fished mashpee-wakeby pond a few weeks ago, that's where I got sick tho so be careful,.....I caught the "swimbait" bug,lol Long pond is an underground aquafier that runs the length of the cape, surfacing in multiple towns. I have fished it in 4 different towns and always did very well. I especially like the section in S Yarmouth, off turtle cove rd. Would make a nice place to yak. I also plan to hit the Cape next week and visit my sister, perhaps I can get us out on a friends bass boat if you're interested, but if I know you, it's all about rowing and paddling with your family. Let me know though, i fyou're interested. Either way, you guys have a blast!!! (A great family right there folks, Norm's daughter is a peach and his wife SAVED THE DAY on the BR roadtrip by shooting us to Logan airport on a phone calls notice, great people.) Let me know if you want to hook up bud, it's been too long!
  15. Fish it like any other body. We have a lot of brackish water around here. The freshwater species that inhabit it are consistent in their mannerings. LM act like LM, etc. It's when a saltwater species is in there, it's usually for a reason (mainly spawning) and the bite can be difficult if not down right frustrating. This is not their "normal" water whereas the fresh species are there all the time. I am thinking of the Providence river in particular. There is a waterfall at the dam coming in from Omega pond. Many freshwater fish have gone over the dam but live right there, where the salt meets the fresh. They are very catchable. When the stripers get up in there,...it's another story. HOWEVER Those stripers can be caught further down river towards the bay where the salinity is stronger on their way out
  16. Better info from someone who understands this better than many of us. This is the info you want.
  17. Oh goodness!!! Matt, that bass is too small to keep, you'll have to release it,....oh wait,...that's a LURE!! ;D Assuming with that body style, there will also be a yellow perch in the mix? sexy, sexy, sexy,...I WANT ONE!!!!!
  18. It's not so much the temp that you need to be concerned with at different depths (10,20,30) but in deeper lakes, it's the thermocline. When a lake flips, the cooler water is at the bottom but it is also the water with the least dissolved oxygen. You want to aim near that 8-15 ft zone for consistent fishing in warmer water
  19. Looks like the state record has been broken and it may have been a world record had they not waited 10 hrs to weigh it. 75.4 lbs, shatters old record by 5+ lbs!! The fishery has been on a major come back in the last 20 yrs, thanks to the conservation efforts down in the Chesapeake Bay. When I was a kid, stripers were things our grand parents talked about. Now, we are loaded with them again. Life is good
  20. .......and the story continues.... Brian, thanks for understanding, we had been quite torn over this. Ronnie called me, very distraught over this, but I think he came up with the perfect replacement. Way to save the day Ronnie. So off it goes,..where it stops,...nobody knows,.....MOJO madness!!!
  21. Personally, I think it is brilliant. Ecologically,....environmentally,.....angling wise,....stealth presentation wise (plus they will "click" like a cray is moving rocks,...because it IS a rock! lol) I think the downfall will be the price. Suprised,...coming from me,..I know, lol It's a polished, drilled, weighed ROCK,...a buck a piece? That's enough to make me specifically boycott them. The greed, the greed, the greed Kudos for the innovation and thinking INSIDE the box though
  22. They are a lot scarier when you are swimming and suddenly notice the pack,...sittting dead still up near the surface and you realize you have your silver bracelet on. TIP_ Do not wear jewelry in Barracuda water. Seriously.
  23. No matter how many locks we put on the door,.....
