  1. If you fish really clear water try downsizing to a 3/8 or 1/4 and silent versions. I have a few hundred lipless and they all work in different situations. Spro has their Aruku Shad on sale a few times a year. I posted about a recent sale several weeks ago. You can get them around 4 dollars during these sales. The 3/8 size is great for clear water or lakes with a lot of pressure. Cotton Cordell Spot is also very cheap. Does not cast well and is lighter, better suited for skinny water. Not all lipless vibrate well at slow speeds which is important when the water is very cold. Many good ones already mentioned. Nishine Simcoe (silent version) is a standout as well.
  2. I still bring them with me. They are part of my panic box.
  3. Megabass Vision 110 HT Kossori Shad. I picked up three of these. I don’t think they are available anymore in the regular 110 and it is one of my favorites.
  4. Many of them do. They all have the plastic mesh back and sides.
  5. I have several of these, but they are wearing thin.
  6. Yes, they have always been around but now most of the hats have adopted that style. I’m 50 years old and I’ve been wearing hats every day since college. I have photosensitivity because of a medical condition. 10 years ago there were many more traditional hats. I don’t use the hooded sunscreen shirts because I don’t like the material but I know that’s an option and a good idea.
  7. This style hat has been a trend for fishing hats the last several years. I know many people like them and they vent heat better. I have a short military style haircut, and those holes will definitely allow the side and back of my head to burn. I also don’t want to put suntan lotion on my head and then slap a hat on top of it. The Simms gaiters work well but mid summer my head gets super hot wearing one with a hat. Not a fan of the way they look either. They remind me of our little league hats from the 80s. It seems like a trend now, everybody is using that style. How does everyone else like them?
  8. 1/4 oz is light enough to not get bogged down so you can’t rip it out. Target the edges. You need a fast rod with enough tip to cast accurately. 7’ mh fast is a good all around.
  9. My first bass of ‘26 from a week ago. Landed less than 50%. Vision 110, Simcoe 75, Wameko 60.
  10. Buzzbaits, squarebills, spinnerbaits, flipping jigs.
  11. I have found swimming most effective when water temps reaching near 60°, similar to topwater. I’m referring to swimming, continuous, slow. Nowadays, stroking a jig can be seen as swimming too. I fish a lot of clear water and prefer sparse skirts and lighter hooks. You will benefit from a little wind when the water is clear. Line tie angles can influence presentation. You can also throw a quarter ounce swim jig into grass edges, let it sit and rip it out like a trap. This can be very effective. Tom Monsoor made this technique popular 20-25 years ago. You should be able to google some of his advice about this technique. He’s probably the best at swimming a jig, even as an older man.
  12. Save 50% on Berkley’s new fluorocarbon, GinClear.
  13. Thanks! I also use a lot of smaller baits like jackall tn60s or aruku shad jr (3/8). I do upsize often on these but the extra weight does have an impact. At slower speeds it is more noticeable. That is why I often don’t do it early and late in the season when I need to slow down to get bites.
  14. Thank you for this. This has been on my to-do list for a while. I am looking to complete a list for crankbaits and lipless too. If you have any data for these please post them. Also does anyone have the weights for stock vision 110 jrs? Thanks.
  15. Hunter cranks added to Spro sale.
  16. Spro has their Little John Micros about 70% off.
  17. I picked up a bunch of Arukus and Wamekos. Spros has them on sale, runs through the end of the month. You save 60 to 65%. I live in New Jersey and they didn’t charge sales tax, free shipping over $100. I use a lot of traps so these are just adding to stock. This is the first time I’ve seen this type of sale from Spro outside of Black Friday.
  18. Looks like TW has them included in their current sale. I am tempted too.

Anyone try these from X Zone? Saw them yesterday at Dick’s. I don’t need any more finesse fluke style baits but these were interesting.
  20. Sometimes no skirt is the best option
  21. Spro is have a big sale on Arukus and Wamekos, around 60%% off. Some Wameko colors are full price but most are discounted. Free shipping with $100 order.
  22. Where do you find the clearance at Dicks? I’ve never really done well there.
  23. Do the lids open past 90°?
  24. My local Home Depots have these Stanley utility boxes on clearance for $3.80. Must buy in store while supplies last. Looks like the lids only open 90°. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Stanley-SortMaster-Junior-14-Compartment-Small-Parts-Organizer-STST14022/301461651?store=8465#see-more-details
