  1. Congrats bassin! Do you throw buzzbaits much? Always fun!
  2. Dito! Good article! For someone like myself who is getting ready to fish in his first BFL tournament as a non-boater, or first ever tournament for that matter, it is a little more encouraging after reading articles like this. Thanks JT! Keep up the good work!
  3. 10lb er? Call the medics!

  9. Who here fishes with headphones? Can you wear them in tournaments I wonder? Never seen it done !?
  10. At my local state park pond, the two largest bass I caught were on a plastic crawfish in the evening and a crankbait in the morning. Good luck and go get 'em !!!
  11. Live minnows you mean? Isn't that cheating? I can't stoop to that level! Maybe a new hobby like rock tumbling? LOL
  12. Ok. I live in Delaware. It's been in the 20's and 30's at night and 35-45 during the days. I fish a local state park pond a lot because it is only a mile away from home. Two weeks ago I caught two small( 11 inchers) largemouths one on a small spinner, the other on a small crank. I have been shut out since and it's really getting frustrating. The pond is small, probably the size of a football field. I'm sure they're hanging in the deep middle of the pond, though the two I caught recently were near the bank and were very light colored. I guess my question is how cold is too cold? I've tried carolinas, texas rigs, jigs, spinners, cranks. You name it and I've tried it. The water temp. I assume is in the 30's. What would you do? Give up for a few more weeks or sit there for hours at a time without a bite?? I am going crazy! P.S. I hope it means this season will be outrageous!!!
  13. That stinks!..The new door idea with bars sounds good. Buy a couple of security alarm yard signs from Lowe's or Home Depot also. Oh, and a "Warning: Attack Dog" sign for the door!
  14. I would either pitch a completely different bait than him or switch to a different method. Say he is flipping a jig.... I would flip a kreature bait or a different color jig. Maybe I would switch it up some and use a spinnerbait or crankbait. Be your own boss and be unique! Just because the person up front is catching fish with one lure or method doesnt mean another method won't work.(Possibly even better!)
  15. 1) Shad colored suspending crankbait 2) Spinnerbait...willow leaf blades Tried creatures for the first time last year and they worked well. So, this year i will concentrate on creatures, crawdads and tubes to get more experience with them.
  16. I'm not big on paperwork, so I would opt for a book already written with all the info I need. I would obviously buy a book written by a well know professional. Call me lazy! ;D
  17. Rangers...good idea! I'll ask them next time i see them. Thanx guys!
  18. Don't worry! Be patient! I like to fish lures or baits that other people around the pond don't. All of the big 4-5 pounders I've caught at my local pond have been caught in the shallows. Also, they were either caught early morning or at dusk. Your time will come! I can feel it! Oh! I meant to mention that right before and during the beginning of a rain storm I've caught and missed some lunkers. Just cause it's raining the fish don't stop eating. Try the shallows during these time also!
  19. If your fishing on a catch and release pond or lake how are you supposed to get your fishes weight certified? You can't take him with you to a local tackle shop! So, what are you supposed to do? I'm sure someone has the answer to this.
  20. Raul, Is that the best game on the market for PS2's???
  21. Jigs and slow rolled spinners by docks and cover. Next, I would try drop shoting 3-4" baits both along the banks drops and along the deeper drops. Suspending jerbaits both hard and soft if all else fails.
  22. Way to stir the pot Rich.. ;D
  23. White spinnerbait, silver shad colored crankbait and one plastic either watermelon or pumpkin colored.
  24. Welcome aboard swamp_fox, You will find an array of information on this site, especially in the fishing articles and fishing forums. When you just need to know, these are the sections you'll want to check out first. Good luck this year and don't forget the camera!! ( Not that we don't believe you or anything!!??).... ;D
