  1. What's an average selling price/value of a used 8' Bass Raider, with the 2 original seats, these days? Thanks.
  2. Thanks guys. With the Mitchell 300XE and the Pflueger Trion GX7 both at $39, which is the better reel? These are online prices, I don't know if the store will honor them yet.
  3. I agree that northern WI. has very little bass fishing pressure. I vacationed in the St. Germain area for many years, and the big thing is muskie and walleye fishing.
  4. Does the DNR have any legal authority when someone is fishing a private pond? There's a private pond I have permission to fish by the owner(it's a local sand pit property)and I was wondering if I'm at risk if I fish it before the game fish season opens? My son is coming in from Oregon next week and wants to go fishing, but the season won't be open yet. The fishing there is only catch and release anyway. Thanks.
  5. I'm looking to replace a couple spinning reels, hopefully under $40. Gander Mountain has the Mitchell 300XE on sale for $39, and their "Guide" series reels for $29. Are these 2 reels decent? If so, is the Mitchell worth the extra $10? Thanks for any advice.
  6. I'm looking to replace a reel or 2, and am looking for suggestions under $40. Gander Mtn. has the Mitchell 300XE on sale for $39. They also have their Guide series for $29. Are these any good? Thanks.
  7. The price at Walmart went up again. It's almost as ridiculous as the Yamamotos. $5.19 for 6-7 worms. Yikes!!
  8. Thanks Burley. I was hoping to buy just the 2 lights and save some money. I don't need any of that other stuff. Also, it says they're waterproof, but it doesn't say if they're submersible. Have you used these, and do you know if they have a pigtail to wire into?
  9. I want to replace my trailers taillights with submersible LED lights. The ones on there now are about 4.5" square, with 2 studs(2" centers) mounted to license plate frame. Can anyone recommend reasonably priced lights that I can replace easily? And where to buy them? Thanks.
  10. Thomas, where in N.C. are you? I was looking into Mt. Airy as a retirement possibility in the future.
  11. I wish I had the money. One of these years the wife and I want to move to a much milder climate. I know I couldn't take the humidity of Florida though.
  12. Yes, I hate this time of year. The winters here in Wisconsin suck BIG time. We also had a little snow today.
  13. I recommend a flat bunk toward the front of boat(that sits perpendicular to trailer frame). I bought mine at Bass Pro Shop. It's on their website. Search for "Jon Boat front support bunk".
  14. What lure types do you guys recommend when the water temp. gets pretty cold? The water temp's pretty cold now here in Wisconsin. At what water temp do the bass just shut down? Thanks.
  15. Where can I get the best deal on Kinami worms? Is there anywhere online to buy them in bulk? Thanks.
  16. I agree with CFFF. Is there any reason you don't want a trailer? I paid $850 for a 16' flat jon with a 48" wide floor and trailer.
  17. Take it easy. You don't want to have a heart attack before you get there.
  18. Thanks guys. I'll change the filter. I assume I need to get the filter from a Johnson dealer? The plugs were new this season.
  19. I don't think it's my tank/hose because I borrowed my friend's tank/hose, and it did the same thing. He thought maybe the fuel pump or gas filter. I don't even know if this thing has a fuel pump.
  20. I have a 1990 Johnson, 25 HP outboard that I'm having trouble with. It runs great until you use full throttle for more than about 15 seconds. Then it starts to bog down and will die out if you don't back off the throttle. It also will run fine if you squeeze the primer bulb while under full throttle. It sounds like it's not getting enough gas, correct? What do you suggest? Thanks.
  21. Daytime - Kinami plastic worm Night - Jitterbug
  22. Does your choice of worm/lure sizes change in the fall? What size worm should I be using in the fall? I'm used to musky fishing, where you go bigger in the fall. Thanks.
  23. What is drop-shotting?
