How fast were you fishing the lipless crankbaits? I have been having to pause for over 45 seconds with my jerkbaits in order to get bit.

I got out for a little today and tried a crankbait, jig, bladebait, and spinner bait. I hooked one big crappie and snagged a huge carp. I found one jerkbait when I got home so I will see how it works tomorrow. Stroking is using a huge sweep of the rod to lift your bait 2-8 feet off of the bottom. Stroking is usullay used with spoons and jigs though it can really be used with anything.

I was using an X-rap but now I ordered some suspending Rouges. So what do you guys think I should use?

Lately I have been catching a lot of bass suspended in 2-3 feet of water on suspending jerkbaits. Today I lost my last jerkbait and I do not know what to do. The bass would not strike a blade bait when I was trying it. The water is 38-40 degrees. I am thinking that now I should try a spook, carolina rig, or jig. I could also stroke the blade bait. What do you guys think I should use?

I just ordered some of these and I am really excited. I ordered the five inchers. They look like they will be killer around here where the main forage is giant gizzard shad. I am thinking these will be great around rockpiles and ledges. Have any of you ever fished giant spoons like this?

If the water is below 50 the bass are in the deeper water! Look for your 1st. and 2 nd break lines off of flats,points,humps,steep break lines and fish a jerk bait,drop shot, C-rig ,crankbait. I think you are pounding the banks and they are deeper, and fish SLOW. I have seen bass in less than one foot of water when the water temperature was below 40 degrees farenheight.
