  1. The line was Trilene Big Game. How is that not real line?
  2. Because I was using a Hotlips. I don't know if you have ever fished one but they are big deep cranks, so the trebles might be harder to get out.
  3. Well, on saturday I was cranking a deep brushpile with a Hotlips and I hooked a nice fish, about 3 pounds and I had him on for second when snap, there goes my line. I could hear the fish trying to shake the bait under the boat after I broke him off. Do you think this fish will be okay?
  4. I have been using the chartreuse blue back and the fish love it. I was hitting the bottom in 18 feet of water with 15 pound mono so I can't wait to try this thing with 10 pound flourocarbon.
  5. They sure are awesome, the way they bounce off rocks amazes me. The only downside is the huge hole they rip in the bass's lip. Too bad I only have one left after I broke a good fish off in a deep brushpile today. I may go out in the boat tomorrow so I can recover the crankbait and make sure the fish is ok. I could hear him trying to shake it out under the boat after I broke him off.
  6. Does anyone else use this deep crank? I wonder why it gets no publicity.
  7. Haven't you guys ever thought about this? Couldn't the 1 pounder you caught be the next world record some day? Or end up being your first double digit bass some day? I release all fish I catch, except for Northern Snakehead, because the law states that I have to keep them.
  8. How do you do this? Do you need a very sensitive depth finder? It has never worked for me.
  9. What lures do you guys use to catch Largemouth Bass in 40 plus feet of water?
  10. He hooked it in the corner of the lip. I will be back at that same ledge on saturday to try to catch him again.
  11. On saturday, me and my dad were fishing a ledge in 18 feet of water and my dad hooked one, got it to the boat, tried to lip it, but somehow , it ran and snapped his line. I was 5 or 6 pounds, maybe bigger, and the bait was a 3/4 ounce football jig. Do you think the fish will be ok?
  12. The rod and reel I use for the Soft gill is a 7 foot 6 inch daiwa Zillion with a Hyperspeed Zillion reel spooled with 25 pound test Big Game. I have a hard time getting hookups with the bait though, but that is probablly because a lot of the strike I have been getting have been from little 2 pounders.
  13. I have only used the Ultimate Soft Gill, and it is amazing. Two pounders will bite it all the time.
  14. Hard or soft?
  15. Personally, I don't like any of them.
  16. I have already used Mattlures baits, and the Ultimate Bluegill is one of my favorite swimbaits. I will most likely be purchasing one of the Okuma rods because I want to throw the 8 inch Hudds, and it will allow me to throw the Slammer and maybe Born Again more effectively.
  17. It was the girls fault. If something like that happened to me, I would just start laughing at myself for falling in the man hole and just leave. I can't beleive her parents would sue for something that was their daughters fault :-/.
  18. The Eeliminator looks awesome.
  19. What swimbait do you guys think I should get next? A nine inch black Slammer, a Born Again, or an eight inch Hudd? The Born Again seems a little heavy and sort of pricey. Right now I am leaning towards the nine inch Slammer. I'm really getting into swimbaits even though the heaviest baits I have been throwing are only 2.4 ounces.
  20. And to go deeper into the subject, they are VMC hooks sharpened using a Daiichi sharpening process.
  21. Good luck guys, are you catching many Snakeheads down there?
  22. I observe Blueback Herring a lot, because where I fish, during april, if you fish for bass with a crankbait , you will catch Bluebacks. I can't paint but I can think up some good blueback patterns. If you need Blueback patterns that is.
  23. The Dicks near my house has tons of them. I don't know if it is worth the drive for you, but this Dicks has tons of Flappin Hogs.
