  1. i have recently handcarved a shallow crank, swimbait and top water. for the shallow crank and swimbait how should i make the bill/lip? will an old chatterbait lip work?
  2. cool rondef. i wonder how winter snakehead fishing will be?
  3. i read something by denny brauer that said suspending a spoon where fish are and deadsticking it is one of the best ways to fish a spoon in the winter
  4. good luck guys. if i get a snakehead near gravelly point i'll post some pics.
  5. rondef says they put up a great fight.
  6. they don't really seem to be a threat at all. they can't walk or breath air. they are actually pretty docile. i saw one just come up for air one day amongst a school of gar. he was big and blackish. he moved very slow and wouldn't strike the spinnerbait my dad cast to him before he dove back down into the water.
  7. wow! that thing is huge! how much did it weigh?
  8. me screaming about how huge the fish i have on is. i also like the song drag.
  9. mybe you'll be back home soon with the elections coming up :-/
  10. how do you guys like the strike king sexy spoon. i've found some good winter cover(an old table under a bridge.) when witer comes i'm thinking of deadsticking and jigging the spoon from on the bridge. if it's deep enough the bass might hang out there.
  11. sometimes during the midle of the day my dad drops me of near chain bridge to fish. what should i use to catch the stripers near chain bridge. i don't really want to use cut bait. also is there a good fall striper bite near chain and at gravelly point?
  12. thanks rondef. we are also fishing gravelly point/haines point on sunday. maybe we'll get some nice rats ;D. have the bass started to move to the backs of the creeks yet? if so i'll try rock creek.
  13. turns out i can't go. my dad says i won't have the time and because i had been planning to fish our secret spot with him. maybe next time though. good luck guys. i hear snakehead tasts great simon.
  14. i hope i can come. my parents might not let me though because they might think something bad will happen. even if my dad came i might not be able to go. if i can though i've got some shads and buzzbaits. if i get a snakehead i'll probablly give it to rondef or simon so simon can "sink his teeth into it". i don't think i want to eat it because where i fish on the potomac there are always dead rats as big as cats floating in the water and tons of trash.
  15. thanks rondef i hope my dad will let me go. if i go i think i'll use a ragetail shad or a shallow crank.
  16. do i need a boat. if not maybe my dad will let me come if thats okay.
