  1. I prefer the K over the SLX as far as casting distance, smooth reeling and overall build quality/feel. The only thing I really like about the SLX over the K is the smaller size. It just fits me perfect.
  2. That Hobie 360 drive is the bees knees! I might have to start saving if they release it in the Outback.
  3. I like the smaller frame of the SLX over my K's so I'm all over it!
  4. I tried all the above, pencil, nail, etc. and never got the results I was after...... I ended up using some scrap wood and took a trip to Lowes for the rest of the materials needed and built this. It's awesome, perfect everytime. I just clamp it to the work bench in the garage or to truck bumper. I sanded it and spray painted it black to make it look a little better. https://www.sportfishingmag.com/fishing-line-spooler-diy/#page-11
  5. What Stradic model did you have and what was "worn" about it?
  6. I have mostly Columbia but also have an Under Armour fish with a cool graphic that works great too.
  7. Yeah, I like mine too and find myself picking a combo with an SLX on it over my K's simply because the smaller size fits my hand much better.
  8. Thanks, any idea on release date and price on the DC SLX?
  9. Oh? I was just going by the vid posted above. They said it's a standard Curado body.
  10. Wow, this looks nice. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Oh, thanks. I had my hopes up for an exact same size SLX with the DC function.
  12. Really? First I've heard of this......any idea on price?
  13. I own a couple and I much prefer the smaller size of the SLX to my Curado K's, but at the same time I have small to medium sized hands, YMMV. I'd say it probably matches the 70 the most size wise.
  14. I have a couple and they're pretty nice for the $. I'd say if you take care of them and maintain them properly they'll last you 5+ years.
  15. Thanks Tom, yeah I can look that up myself but appreciate the info. I was asking in real world situations, have you had the chance to compare the two lines? Or if anyone else has I'd like to hear your thoughts as well. Thanks
  16. How does the Maxima compare to Yo-zuri hybrid?
  17. Out of curiosity what is your preferred line on a spinning reel?
  18. I'd go with the K hands down.
  19. Same here, if it's not raining the wind is blowing @15-30 mph. I primarily fish from a kayak and with the wind blowing like that I stay home. It's more of a chore than it is fun.
  20. Hey to another Lexingtonian! Let us know how they work as I've got a couple SLX reels too that I'll try this on.
  21. I've got several K's and after buying a few SLX's I much prefer the smaller reels as my hands are smaller and I like the size of the SLX. I'll probably end up picking up a few 70's this winter for more finesse applications like light texas rigged plastics.
  22. Nice, I'm a St. Croix fanboy too but haven't heard of this line yet. I might grab one for a creek wading backup.
  23. You can't go wrong with either a Daiwa or Shimano.
