3-4 Rod setup for $4-500!
SLX combos for that price can't be beat. I'd stay away from Kastking.

New Senko specific spinning rod, St. Croix Avid X vs. Legend Tournament?
Yeah, on my old setup I was throwing them with 6lb Yo-zuri Hybrid. I'll probably do the same on this new setup, just have to decide which size reel to use. Thanks, I'll have to take this into consideration. Any specific reason you prefer the LTB over the Avid X?

Shimano rods
I'm a huge Shimano reel fanboy but have never owned one of their rods. I was thinking of picking up an Expride spinning rod but TW has them backordered until 7/31

What size Stradics?

New Senko specific spinning rod, St. Croix Avid X vs. Legend Tournament?
Thanks for the advice and info on that Legend Elite, that's a great deal. I've recently grown more fond of a split grip over a full cork handle but that sure is tempting..... How would you compare the LE vs. the Avid or LT?

New Senko specific spinning rod, St. Croix Avid X vs. Legend Tournament?
I'm upgrading one of my spinning setups and this will be used only for weightless Senkos, both T-rigged and wacky. I've narrowed it down to a 68MXF St. Croix but having a tough time deciding between the Avid X and the Legend Tournament. For those that have handled and fished both which do you prefer? The LT is only $60 more and when it comes down to a rod I'll more than likely keep forever that's not a lot. I'm actually leaning towards the Avid X for a few reasons, one I own several Avid casting rods and they're great. Two, the color of the rod, I just can't warm up to the purple/blue hue on the LT. Third, I primarily fish from a yak and I like the 12" handle on the Avid X vs. the LT 13" handle. Also, what reel balances well with these rods? I've got an extra Stradic Ci4+ I was planning on using but also looking at a Daiwa Tatula LT in a 2000 size.

Doesn't TW usually do a sale around April 15th?

Ultimate senko rod
Well I'm getting ready to replace my 802s with a St. Croix 68MXF either in Avid X or Legend Tournament. I own several regular Avids but have never handled the X. So, is it worth the extra $50 to upgrade to the Legend Tournament over the X? As far as reels go, I plan to probably pair the rod with a Stradic Ci4+ 2500. How does that reel balance with the 68 St. Croix? Are there better options regarding reel or size?

Dobyns Rods
I did the same, but bought it for a spinnerbait, buzzbait and small swimbait specific rod. I haven't gotten the chance to fish it but hopefully soon. What all do you throw with your 734c?

Best rod for crankbaits?!
I love my St. Croix 610MM Legend Glass.

Ultimate senko rod
I think I'm going to ditch my Loomis GL2 802s for an Avid X 68 MXF for my dedicated spinning Senko setup (both weightless TR'd and Wacky). Any thoughts? Am I just wasting money by switching? I've never fished an Avid X but own several ScIII Avid casting rods and enjoy them thoroughly.

Dobyns 704 or 734
Not a fan of Lews myself so I can't help there, but if at all possible I'd step up to the Fury rod over the Colt.
-
Dobyns 704 or 734
Oh, and if you can swing the extra $ I'd go with the Fury over the Colt. Much better rod at not much of a higher price. Just eat some PB&J for lunch for a couple weeks. ?

Dobyns 704 or 734
I went with the 734C Sierra for a dedicated spinnerbait, buzzbait rod. I haven't been able to fish it yet but have thrown a practice plug around the yard and it feels awesome. I fish from a kayak most of the time and was a little hesitant about getting the longer 734 but the recommendations and reviews from this forum pushed me to go with the 734.

How is your Curado K holding up?
I have three and all are fine, but....... I bought an SLX on a whim as I'm a Shimano fanboi and wanted to try it. The SLX fits my hands better and actually casts farther and seems smoother than my K's....

Spinning setup ideas
Like others mentioned, stick with Shimano or Daiwa for the reel. I've upgraded to more expensive Shimanos but still have a few Saharas in my backup arsenal that I've had for years and still work as well as the day I bought them. Oh, and stay away from KastKing IMO.

Best $300-400. Spinning rod
Like someone else said, when it comes down to that price a lot of it is personal preference. I suggest you try them before buying if at all possible. For me in that price range I like the offerings of St. Croix, Loomis or Dobyns.

Shimano Poison Adrena Rods Debut!
The more I look and research these I think I'm going to get a spinning rod for weightless Senkos. It'll look killer paired up with a Stradic Ci4+.

Shimano Poison Adrena Rods Debut!
Nice, I had no idea these were on the horizon. I'd have to get one in hand first as I'm not sure about the handle style, but I really like the colors.

Dang, I was under the impression that TW was 25% off sitewide. It's only a select few items, no rods or reels I'm interested in.

If you were fishing a lake next weekend...
Yeah, Texas rig, jerkbait and lipless.

Shimano Stradic FK vs Shimano Stradic Ci4+
Never fished an FK but have a couple Ci4+ and they're great.

Shimano SLX review
I bought one on a whim because one I was curious and two I'm a Shimano fanboy. I haven't fished with it yet, but threw it on a Sierra 734c and cast a plug around the yard. I have to say I'm impressed. I actually think it casts better than all the Curado K's I own, plus palms much better.

I know the Meijer store you're referring to, lol. I actually never thought to check their fishing section until recently. I was actually pleasantly surprised. I picked up some Senkos and some Rapala X-raps on sale.
